  1. I am not getting an error message, the data is just not accessible on the GPSr. Since installing GSAK the problem is not with the Nuvi, but with the Colorado, and if I connect it to my computer and open the folders on it, it looks like the caches are there, but I cannot see them on the GPS when I look for them, by name or proximity.
  2. So here is my problem. We have a car GPSr (Garmin Nuvi 265T) which was not purchased for this, but will get us to the destination very well. Since we sometimes have difficulty sharing (although we have been married 32 years) we have 2 handhelds, he has a Garmin eTrex Venture HC and I have a Colorado 300. My computer has Vista 64bit. That should be the hardware background. The problem arose just the other day (we are very sporadic with our caching). We were going on a trip for a couple of days and were going to throw in some caching on the way. I managed to get the GPX data into the eTrex and the Colorado with minimal fuss, but wanted the data in the Nuvi as well. I used Easy GPS for the handhelds, but it was not putting the data into the Nuvi. So I found a site that walked me through paperless caching with the Nuvi by using GSAK and POI loader. I managed to get most of the same caches into all units. When I tried to do the same thing a few days later I could not get it to work. Now the data doesn't want to go into the Colorado. Somehow I managed to get it in without the GC#s. When I download the data I notice that it now comes in labeled as a GSAK file. Is the problem a conflict between EasyGPS and GSAK? The GSAK tells me I can send to the Colorado, but the data doesn't seem to get there. Should I give up on bulk downloads for the Nuvi, since I generally only use it to get us there? In the past I just downloaded the waypoints into my favorites, without any of the extra information. But it is nice to have that to help decide which caches to try to find. Any solutions are gratefully appreciated. Jean buffaloworkers
  3. I tried to get a cache along a route a few days ago (just prior to a trip we took) and started getting the Error 500. I am not getting anything from my antivirus, just the 500. I am running 64 bit Windows XP. I usually use firefox 3.5.6. I also tried on Chrome 3.0.195.38 just a few minutes ago and tried on IE 8.0.6001.18828 the other day. Once I get it I have to jump through hoops to get anywhere on the geocaching.com site, including here. Very frustrating, especially since I became a paid member right at this time mostly to get the cache along a route for this trip (at least that was my excuse - if I can get that working, I will probably remain a member for that and other perks)
  4. I am a newbie also. I am currently using a Garmin 265T. I have found that the "pedestrian" mode does not seem to help much as opposed to the "automobile" mode. However, it seems to be pretty much dead on when I tell it to tell me where I am and compare those coordinates with the coordinates of the cache.
