  1. Im down with that! I was contemplating taking a "quick" trip to Greyton on one of my days in Cape Town. let me know what the group decides. All that is important is that we meet up for some good food and friendship. By the way were are the rest of you people, I feel a server lack of numbers.
  2. Thanks sooooooo..... much 9Key, it seems like ALOFT23 has stopped past and helped Cher Ami out. Now just to get him back to South Africa. Thanks to all who helped out!
  3. Saturday morning it is. Since I only fly in at 10pm on Friday night lest make it 9am. I am out of the loop as Cape Town habbits go so let me know if there is a better time or place. Please pass on the invite to all non forum browsers. I will try and bring a few coins down (in the Gautengers dont kill me first) ------ To those racers that want their bugs moved please PM with the current location of your bug so I can organise a pickup.
  4. Sorry Cownchicken, I meant to say Rex, as in Rupert Rex. It seems to have managed to move itself up the rankings a slight amount. [Edited due to another typo ]
  5. Hi all Texan cachers. I have a TB "Cher Ami" that has been in A Little Shuteye, redux since December 2006. If there are any cachers in the area would you please help this guy out. He is trying to fly back to South Africa in a pigeon race. So far he has flow from the UK to the US and it would be great to see him fly home! Thanks in advance for the help
  6. Oh, to all 2007 racer/ race TB owners, should you want me to bring a tb on the trans-african express let me know...
  7. Greetings to all Capetonians. F or QFC (well all that is left really) will be down in Cape Town next week (16th - 21st March). I have a wedding on Sunday afternoon and will be arriving late on Friday night. Would anyone like to meet up for a breakfast/lunch/supper or two. I am open to suggestions and should have a rental 4*4 Chico at my disposal. Please post here or PM if you would like to meet up to find a cache or two or for food.
  8. It seems like Rec has managed to save himself, maybe if people ask nicely he will be the first to make the trans-african express flight to CT. Quarter Month Update - March On a small update note, Frustrated 4x4 has hopped to the front with a sneaky trip to the Free State! Some the "original" fore-runners are dropping down the ranks, since that are in caches that arent visited too often. There are a number of JHB-CT "trans-african" trips occuring in the month so we are looking at some big numbers. Don't forget about the "Quickening" at the end of the month. This race is far from over....
  9. Hey TVM, It is not your bug that has been penalised. Noddy's bug was moved between three caches by a single cacher and was docked for two of the moves. You just need to inspire some JHB cachers to get out there and get you bug off the chopping block and be placed. It looks like Nish4 has your bug, so give him a shout and see if he can place it in of the vall or Vereniging caches (scoring you another province and 50 odd kilometers!) Happy racing, sorry that you fee picked on...
  10. Race Update - February Now that the Captonians has calmed down and put ideas of a conspiracy behind them (nice work Warthog! we were so close to beating them!), the race has moved along nicely with all of the bugs having visited 2 provinces (I do apologise for the earlier 3 province confusion, they missed the 3rd province by 10 km). Please remember that at the end of this month (March) bug will be chopped from the race! MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT AT THE BOTTOM! Beg, borrow, steal to get you bug ahead and away from last position. Only one bug has been penalised for breaking the rules so far, but is still racing (at the bottom of the pack). Please read the rules and try and stick to them. Below are the current race standings. 01 - 705 - Messageinabottle - batsgonemad and his squirrel 02 - 670 - Half Bait - QFC 03 - 646 - Lazer Razer - cache-fan 04 - 640 - Frustrated 4x4 - warthog 05 - 628 - Baiesukkel - Guineafowl 06 - 622 - Mickey Racer - TeamTGF 07 - 601 - Terri Tiger - Seeker Two 08 - 600 - TF Are we there yet? - Trackinfind 09 - 600 - P-38 - GlobalRat 10 - 595 - Bolivian Bob - Discombob 11 - 592 - James' leaping lizard - colinaly 12 - 590 - Little Penguin Farmer - Team_Farmers 13 - 576 - TB Cache Surfin' - The Huskies 14 - 569 - Die Rooi Gevaar - cownchicken 15 - 569 - Stormer's Racing Bike - Stormers 16 - 539 - Noddy on a mission - Noddy 17 - 536 - Strandloper - Whostops 18 - 534 - Behind the Mask - B. 11. Owner may move their race bugs but are still bound by the rules outlined on the rules page.
  12. Head over to the Geocoin forum for loads on info on coins.
  13. You obviously haven't been to his bat-cave, sorry I mean house, yet.
  14. SOUNDS GREAT VESPAX! Will be driving down specially for this! Can't wait to win a GPSr and for the trip to Robin Island.
  15. Hey Guys, Thanks for the kind words. Don't worry I am not going to do anything silly, but you all get 10 free points. The blog entry was merely the musings of a tired developer It was also to see what people thoughts are on the who ranking idea and whether it is worth it all Glad that you enjoy the site, numbers or not! And thanks TGF, we now know that we will at least have one reader.

A blated congratulations on their 300 and 400! Gald to see you finally made it!
  17. Thanks TGF, will try and add it tonight...
  18. Just added to more news articles. These ones were both from the web. In the first, Andrenikki wrote an article in www.spice4life.co.za, an online South African womans magazine. The second focuses on CrystalFairy's Mazda Adventure Zone 2007 Geocaching Challenge. It is taken from the adventure zone website. Congratulations to both of these cachers for helping the sport grow!
  19. Consider the worms opened! And spread all over the place There are still plenty of South Africans left in South Africa. Though it seems that we tend to stick to our own corner of the forums. The coin was snapped up in 4 minutes of ron1337 posting in the SA forum.
  20. Purely based on friendship and the fact that you will have another Icon on your profile!
  21. I agree that this topic should be closed, BUT Tom & Jerry do have a right to THEIR opinion on this public forum. In the Signs of Our Times topic people expressed their views, and some of them were not accepted as well as others. Tom & Jerry are merely doing the same here!
  22. Looks like fun, unfortunately the cache it is in is on the other side of the country (1172.2km). Will see if I can pick it up when I am down in March and complete a couple of waypoints for you!I am sure I can get a bunch of Gauteng cachers interested. Good luck!
  23. C3P... for being crazy enough to travel Europe for 2 years.
