  1. Why couldn’t Hidden Creatures start in October?? Lol
  2. We went out and ended with finding only 2 of 5. We will try again. Some of these micros are mind boggling but with every hide you learn a new trick. We're still working on Kracken. Its like ten billion degrees right now in Tucson so we go later in the day. Once we loose light its virtually impossible with all the thorny trees we have here!
  3. We were caching right around the boarder in Southern AZ. We were trying to hit areas so far outlying we may never be back. Great hides but the caches were full of junk. My favorite so far were the hair ties that had hair stuck on them. I remove the gross junk and replace it will as much swag as I can when I'm out. I carry new swag of all types, plastic bags in case a bag is just torn up, cleaning wipes, new pencils, ect. IDK, it just seems like the right thing to do. GC is so relaxing to me its just my way of giving back. I want to see the sport thrive. I think its just rude to place trash in them. If you don't have anything don't take anything. You'd think that would be a simple rule of thumb.
  4. I saw that...at least I’m not the only one who’s having trouble with this ?
  5. Thank you for the quick responses everyone! I would say GC is hard, but it’s certainly technical!
  6. So collection items can not be taken and can only be discovered. but non- collectibles meant to move around but can also be moved into someone else’s collection?
  7. I’m sorry to beat a dead horse here but I still don’t understand collectible vs non collectible. Two part question: 1) I have the large hidden creature coin and tag. I would like to release the tag, but not the coin. What do I mark the it as so it can be properly tracks on it’s milage journey and someone can’t ‘move it’ to their collection. (Is that like ‘stealing it’ or does that mean it just moves on to another cache :/ ) 2) I also have a TB car decal (in my inventory it loaded as a dog tag but it’s not) how should I mark that? C VS NC? i know this has been asked 1,000 times, I read everything I could here before asking, searched google, the main website...I’ve read all the posted links in response to similar questions that lead to the help section on the GC website- and it made things worse for me. ? Someone wrote ‘if your new don’t mess with the toggle buttons you don’t understand!’ That’s the only thing I agree with/understand. I am new but I’m really trying to read everything before I ask to take up someone’s time in the forums. I just want my car decal to be trackable by milage and how far it goes because I travel all over the US to photograph things. Again, thank you for anyone who responds
  8. I did one one the day of release. Sort of a kick off. But it was 110° around 5:30, after being at work all day, so I called it. I’m planning my weekend though!
  9. That’s so nice! I’m not talented but I agree with you- I love the personal touch of hand made items. They are my favorite
  10. I wanted to find a few caches first to see if I liked it, then purchased one month for $5.99. When I realized I really liked it I upgraded to the year of Premium. No regrets. Love it. As far as hobbies go I think the fees is reasonable.
  11. I’ve found all kinds of things; LEGO people, matchbox cars, ceramic hearts, spades, diamonds that are probably hand made, patches, personalized wood geo-coins, plastic bugs, slap bracelets. The last several have been micro caches but I put in little compasses, mini geocoins, those mini geocache green bricks, patches and pins to exchange. I’m not talented so I can’t do hand made items (I think I like those the best though). I haven’t run into any travel bugs, or released any yet since I’m still new. I like to take pictures of the swag in a cache, it’s fun to look back on. But living in the southern desert when it’s 117° in August I have to think about the swag surviving! As for anything super weird- nothing yet- but I’ll keep you posted!
  12. Hello! New lurker here I had no idea geocaching existed until my young son asked me if we could do it last month. He likes it but I fell in love with it!! When we’re out there the world melts away and I’m focused on family time, hanging out, and what we’re doing & seeing. This has been a blast so far! I’m looking to connect to others and I live in Southern Arizona. I really like premium , great price point for a hobby and there really is more content to be discovered.
