  1. I feel that I must apologize to everyone on Mission 1. I am the second person picked for the mission, thank you Fairhoney, I feel honored. I ordered a coin for this mission shortly after I was picked for the mission, June 5th to be exact. Unfortunately I have yet to receive the coin I ordered. I have tried to contact the company that I ordered the coin from but have not been able to get a response. Being a newbie to Geocaching I don't have a collection of coins yet, I have only purchased a couple to send off in caches that are already registered to me. I have already ordered different coins for both missions, from a different company, that I have been assured should be here by the weekend. Again, thank you Fairhoney for picking me, I only wish I was worthy. Your coin is the first of my personal collection. To everyone else in the mission, please accept my apology. Rest assured that I will get the Mission back on schedule as soon as I receive a coin, from either vendor. PawPawGreybeard
  2. Since your runnin a little low on participants for "Mission 2", Sign me up again. I'd love to do another.
  3. I am a newbie and have already seen what seems like a large number of geocoins and travel bugs Missing In Action. I have found several caches that are supposed to have a traveler but nothing is logged and the traveler is not in the cache. I am getting ready to send a Geocoin on a mission and to, hopefully, discourage coin thieves I am going to attach a "Hitch-Hiker Companion" and a custom engraved tag that clearly states its mission. I am also going to attach these tags with a stainless steel cable rather than the more common bead chain, to avoid breakage. This may all sound kind of extreme but maybe my coin will have a longer life.
  4. OK, so I can't go back and start with my first find update it, I have to start from this point and go forward? You can write a note like "coin log", "coin drop", "pling" or something like this instead of a second log for your earlier founds. You can delete this note later, the visit of your coin in this cache will not be removed! Im not sure, but maybe you have to edit the activation-date of your coin for logging caches earlier than the activation-date, Hope you will understand my english Thanks, After I read DlueDeuce's reply I understood your English better. wenzelbub
  5. Thanks BlueDeuce, It worked great, a little time consuming though. I'm glad, kinda, that I'm still a newbie and only had 20 caches to log and not 200. Thanks Again,

  7. I have a new Geocoin that I want to use to track my caching, I have seen others do this. But when I try to create a log on the coin's page the only options I get is to make a note or discover it. I have already "Grabbed" it. What am I doing wrong?
  8. COOL... Can't wait... Add me to the list...
  9. Please include me... I have email eltada for instructions on how to be placed on the address list.
  10. Thanks, The Geocoin, I believe anyway, is special in it's own right. That combined with it's mission, I am hoping, will help to keep it moving along.
  11. I am a Newbie to geocaching, but really enjoying it so far. I know that travel Bugs are commonly given missions and sent on their way, and, as a general rule, Geocoins are traded and kept as souvenirs and keepsakes. But, I have purchased a Geocoin that I would like to assign a mission and would like to know if this is an acceptable endeavor in Geocaching or if it is frowned upon .
  12. Thanks Allot. I was able to download to my GPS very easily the first time I tried. The only problem I see is that the "Map Pane" in EasyGPS has no background map, it only shows my caches scattered all over a blank screen. Oh well, maybe I can figure it out later. Thanks Again
  13. I need help... I have successfully installed gsak and I am having no problem downloading caches to my computer. However, I cannot download from my computer to my GPS. For some reason my computer is only recognizing my GPS as a removable storage device. I have a Magellan eXplorist 400 and my computer uses Windows Vista. I have downloaded the most recent firmware to the GPS from the Magellan website. I tried to install the Vista driver from Magellan but I am having trouble doing that because I am not at all savvy with zip files that do not unzip themselves to where they need to go. Any help will be greatly appreciated, I'm getting tired of manually installing my POI's. Thanks Allot
  14. Thanks for all of the great ideas...
  15. Hello, I am new to Geocaching and have seen several discussions about the GPS systems and such, but I haven't seen any that has a list of recommendations for a backpack. Therefore I thought I would ask what some of the veteran Geocachers carry with them. Thanks
