  1. Best - Indian Head penny Worst - Tattoo Parlor Calling Card with the picture of an infant with a tattoo - that was just tooo bizarre. Tattoos are OK for those old enough to know what they are doing but not for infants. (my humble opinion)
  2. The design should show off some of the finer features of New Jersey. How about having one face in four quadrants behind a compass rose: NW - Delaware Water Gap - highland country NE - Statue of Liberty - with Jersey skyline in the background SE - Jersey Shore - beach or lighthouse SW - Farm country or something related to Delaware Bay. There is something here for everyone. Please no turnpike or refineries! If someone comes up with a good design then I would like a few!
  3. Last time I was in Raoul's in Berlin, NJ he had them for $ 5.00 each. Better than eBay but not as good as Cheaperthandirt. But with Raoul's you have the Army Surplus store experiance and you can put your hands on the merchandise then and there. Very convenient when you live around the corner and you only need a couple!
  4. Well it is all in how you approach the game I suppose. I prefer quality caches to the quantity light poles in the Walmart parking lot variety. Give me a stroll in the woods to a place I never thought to go with an ammo can stuffed full of interesting swag any day!
  5. Why does it matter? Am I missing something?
  6. The coordinates are approx from a topo map. Read up on the park site. If you can find the entrance you are home free. Good luck and enjoy the hnt!
  7. Another good reason for travel bugs to have a tag on them if they have specific goals! (And to think I am guilty of helping Ski hide that thing at the cache! )
  8. Found the A.P.E. cache on February 22. It is in good shape and stocked with some travel bugs and the usual swag. The log book is down to 5 or 6 blank pages. If a large group descends on this cache I would suggest you bring a new log book with you so you have some space to make your log entries. An interesting cache - just keep your eyes open for muggles in the summer time. The park it is in looks like it gets very busy.
  9. Opps - link is: GCH26W Mantua MambaJamba http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...e1-f2d7fe05c017 It is a really big cache! They should have a mega sized catagory for these kinds of caches!
  10. There is a cache in Southern New Jersey that is big enough to hold that TB. Check out GCH26W The Mantua MambaJamba Its the biggest cache I have seen in these parts. Lot's of fun caching in the area. Come on down!
  11. Pardon the ingnorance but what is a Project APE cache???
  12. Just to let you all know my cache got approved this morning. Many thanks!
  13. The reviewer had a question on my cache last night which was 7 days after it was posted. I responded with information last night and I am currently awaiting response. So I presume my cache is still in the queue and it is in New Jersey. And if you scroll up you will see I have posted a comment in this thread. Anyway, we all would like to help get better response on cache approval as it is a reoccuring problem in NJ. Seriously - what can we do to help? Can we volunteer to be approvers? Can we help the existing approvers? Just let us know what we can do. We are avid cachers and are willing to help. Just call on us. Thank you, Frodo
  14. North and South Jersey are almost different states culturally and geographicaly. And there are plenty of caches in each area to warrent its own Admin. Also it would be more likely the admin would be familiar with the cachers in their area and be able to call upon them as resources if there are questions about the cache or if the Admin would like to have a new or unusual cache to be field checked before approval. Whatever it takes to speed up the process and keep it moving along! I think you can call on the cachers from either end of NJ (and some of the surrounding areas too) to take the extra steps needed to make life easier for everyone! Thats my 2 or 3 cents worth for now!
  15. Perhaps there is room for more approvers. We have quite a group of active cachers at SJGeocachers.org. I am sure one of us would be glad to assit the efforts by volunteering to be an approver. I agree with Flyin V - we put a lot of effort into placing caches and it is frustrating not having your own approved or seeing new caches in your home territory pop-up. If anyone at GC HQ is reading this board - let us know how we can help.
