  1. As an American ExPat living in Germany for almost 20 years I understand the frustration this is causing for the European PMs. I see this issue from both sides of the big pond. It is hard for me to believe that GS would intentionally attempt to profit off of the European PMs. None of us know what is happening at GS HQ but I am willing to wager working this all out is their top priority right now. I am sure GS is trying to figure this all out so they can make a full and proper statement regarding the price increase. Yeah, they should have done this before hand but we all make mistakes and you have to admit that dealing with international tax law can be quite complicated. Heck, even dealing with domestic tax law can be daunting. At this point I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and am confident they will do the right thing. All the speculation that is occurring is doing nobody any good. It is my humble opinion that we should maybe tone down the rhetoric and give GS time to develop and provide a proper solution.
  2. Hmmmmmm.....I sent the reviewer who approved the cache a message asking if I can now start making caches that require GSAK and now the cache in question is now GONE. Not archived....GONE!! There had even been one find on it already.
  3. Ha! Looks like the only macro you are missing is BadgeGen!
  4. Buy a travel bug and put a boy scout object on it and give it a boy scout name.
  5. That's what I thought because I tried to create one based on BadgeGen about 6 months ago and it got shot down. Reviewer told me about the requirement. Then this cache was published today near me and it requires BadgeGen! http://coord.info/GC44AJ8 . Different reviewer then I had. How do I report this cache?
  6. No it does not mean they are correct. It will move to any location you put for the corrected coordinates. But maybe this is something new. Put some different coordinates in and see is the color changes.
  7. Is it against the guidelines to make a Challenge cache which requires the use of GSAK and BadgeGen?? For example can I make a challenge cache that requires people to have a certain number of BadgeGen badges before they can log it? I looked in the guidelines for challenge caches and did not see anything against it.
  8. What do you mean RENEW? You are not even a PM now. You have found only 44 caches in the last 4 years.
  9. Thanks. The first on is the Geoswag XLE. It is the last on on that page. Very good source of info.
  10. Can anyone tell me the which edition these two coins are? TIA
  11. Use 1060 W, Addison, Chicago Illinois like Jake and Elwood Blues did.
  12. No, there is no US or Federal VAT on the USD price. I really wonder what would be happening if the USD was stronger then the Euro or GBP. What if 29.00 Euro only equaled $15.00. Will they then change the price to 60 Euro? It could very well happen someday. The price should be in USD for everyone. Plain and simple. Many of my European friends do business with American companies and always pay in dollars. They pay their VAT and Customs when the items arrives. I understand this is impossible with digital product but what is the EU gonna do? Block the Geocaching.com website? Europe is not China. It is ludicrous that they are standing by their statement of not being sure if they can release their VAT registration number. Really makes a person wonder if they actually have one. But I'll bet they will have one by the end of next week. Is there anyway to find out when a VAT number was issued?
  13. So nice to be an American living in Europe for 20 years and get to pay in USD and pay NO TAX. I don't really mean this my European geocaching brothers and sisters. I think you are getting a raw deal and it sucks to be so blatantly lied to.
  14. What you EUers don't understand is that GS has the "Super Double Secret EU VAT Number" which by law does not require release to the public. It is kinda like the "Double Secret Probation" that Delta House in the movie Animal House was put under by Dean Wormer.
  15. WOW!!! As an American Ex-pat I must say that it is very embarressing that GS would be treating our European friends like this. Funny how I as an American citizen can still pay in USD and not pay EU VAT even though I have lived in Germany for 20 years.
  16. You might be a Geocacher if you know what ZNTARGVP without decrypting it.
  17. Hi all, I have 4 2012 Compass Rose Congo coins that I am willing to trade for other LE or XLE coins. I need an LE of the 2011 Compass Rose so if you have an extra and would like to trade let me know via PM.
  18. I agree. It is no different then logging a find when you really did not. Or or person who places a new container and logbook because they can not find the real cache.
  19. You might want to blur out the TB number. I am sure they dont want there TB locked for virtual loggings. Good call. Thanks! Sooooo, if you go to the page for this tattoo trackable, there are two pictures in the gallery from 2012 and 2011, both have the TB code plain as day... so I discovered it. Good for you. I personally don't discover a trackable unless see it in person.
  20. You don't need the window TB. You can use the code from any trackable you own including geocoins. Like my earlier post said...get a tattoo, put the trackable code near, on, or in the tattoo, send a photo of it to Geocachimg.com and they will change the icon to a Human Travel Bug. The tattoo does not need to be the travel bug icon. It can be whatever you want it to be.
