  1. Don't know how long I'll stick around for the gathering but will be there for the 9A group outting. Thanks, AER
  2. Thank's everyone for placing all these great caches and keeping me busy over the last couple of years, it's been a lot of fun and has made all the work related travel a lot more interesting. We'll see you in the woods or some local gathering soon. Take care, AER.
  3. Well, didn't have any problems with the GPS or much else for that matter. The cache I visited was in a nice quiet out of the way place and what I saw in Israel vs my memories of 30 years prior was a much less tense environment. My only issue on the trip was my passport photo taken 5 years ago before a little Atkins fun which netted me ~60lbs lighter. They had issues letting me in and out of Israel. The US and France were no problem nor was getting a Visa to India. AER
  4. I'll be traveling on business in a couple of weeks and Israel is one of the countries on my itinerary. I'll have a few free hours over the course of 2 days and I have a TB that needs to be placed in or near Africa. I'm trying to figure out a few things, first off am I putting myself at risk by attempting to cache in Israel? Will a GPS be an issue with customs/security? What are the more accessible caches near tel aviv? Is there anywhere to acquire overlay maps? Your advice is greatly apprecaited. Regards, Adam R. aka dobsonian
  5. I'll be at the Edison statue at 8 (painful for a Sunday). Might drag the family to Kroghs but lets see how the day goes. I need 11 to get to #400. AER aka dobsonian
  6. Thanks to everyone who responded, let me try to hunt down the land manager and we'll set a date before it gets to warm out. AER aka dobsonian
  7. We've placed 3 caches in the Hopatcong Hills section of NJ and a second cacher has placed a fourth. This area was designated as a Natural Preserve but is strewn with trash. When placing my first cache I was amazed by a pile right past the entrance and a boat load of propane tanks up on the ridge. When I came back to place the 3rd cache I found 2 wrecked cars out in the woods. I'm interested in gettting this site cleaned up and figured a CITO event would be the right idea but I've never tried to arrange one of these before and am looking for advice. I know of at least a few cachers that have offered to get involved and one that can get local authorities and a cub scout group to help. If you've arranged one of these events in the past please get back to me with some words of wisdom and if you're interested in getting involved in helping to clean this great spot up let me know that too. Thanks, AER aka dobsonian
