  1. Welcome Chatty, we are new here too. When I first found the site my hubby was like "what do you want to do that for?". After I convinced him to go and try...... he is now more addicted than I am ROFL
  2. Do all logs get emailed to the owers? meaning "found it", "didnt find it", "maintainance" etc. I was not sure so I did not want to send out tons of stuff to owners lol.
  3. ROFL thanks all for the advice and help, definately a great group of people here and we are glad we found this site. We enjoy our trips out "hunting" and it has givin us a chance to see places we would not normally have gone. I have logged some finds as "found it" but the cache really needed some maintenance. How is the proper way to handle that, so far I have just written it in my found log.
  4. Ty Nodic and Star. Another part I tought about to that question... if you have 2 DNF for the same cache, would only log one?
  5. Hope I have started this post in the right place. We are new to geocaching and I was wondering about proper etiquette for posting. If you post a DNF and then go back and find it, do you post a "found it" or just write a note that you found it?
  6. We are new to geocaching and have not had any run-in's yet, but we did find a cache that contained a business card of an officer that had been called to the location for a "suspicious persons call". We had a good laugh and put it back in the chache. But I guess if you are the person being questioned its not so funny. TY for the links to the cards, printing them off as I type lol
  7. an email to validate just came to my email address ty.
  8. Does anyone know how to validate an email address. I just changed my email address and now I cannot log my finds. I get an error telling me to validate my email address by visiting my account page, but I do not see anywhere to validate it.
  9. wow some great recipes. Golden Glazed Chicken 2 onions, sliced (i do half rings) salt and pepper to taste 4 boneless chicken breasts 1/3 cup of liquid honey 1/4 cup dijon mustard 2 tbsp lemon juice 2 tbsp vegetable oil (i use olive oil) 1 tbsp curry powder Spread onions in bottom os greased 12" x 9" glass baking dish; sprinkle with salt and pepper. arrange chicken breasts on top (remove skin if you like); sprinkle with salt and pepper In a small bowl, combine honey, mustard, lemon juice, oil and curry powder until well bloended. Pour over chicken (recipe can be prepared ahead up to this point. Refergerate, covered, up to 8 hours) Bake uncovered in 375F oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink inside. basting 2 or 3 times during cooking. This dish is not spicy or tart it is in fact on the sweet side. I like to serve it over white rice. Since your hubby does not like onions, just do not put any on his plate. lol
  10. WOW. We are new to geocaching and had no idea how much work the stachers put into this. Kudos to all of you for your creativity and thanks for the ideas on how to find some of the cache. After our first few finds we thought hey this is pretty easy lol, until we came upon some we could not find........ now we know why lol
  11. Thanx for starting this post She Wolf, being new to geocaching I have been wondering the same thing. Have used recharables in my electrinics in the past and now I know my mistakes. ty all
  12. n00b here and very glad I had not asked this question when I was searching for a unit. I am a techy but my hubby is not, when searching for a unit for the two of us to use, my main concern was for him to be able to use it. I decided on the Garmin eTrex Legend HCx, as it had everything that I was looking for in a unit... ease of use usb electrinic compass Waypoints/favorites/locations: 1000 Routes: 50 Track log: 10,000 points, 20 saved tracks sd card - for future use and price which I am sure if you have done your homework and it sounds like you have, you already know this information. We, like you, just wanted to get out there and find some cache. We both are able to use the legend and enjoy it. Like otheres before this post have commented on, it is quick and accurate. I personally have not used a Delorme so cannot comment about it. Happy mothers day (tomorrow) VERY HAPPY GARMIN ETREX LEGEND HCX owner
