  1. I'm new to the sport, and I do have a Garmin somewhere in my bug-out bag, but I've had such good results with my G1 and the GpsStatus software that I haven't bothered to dig it out. Once I've made the find I launch the camera and snap a pic or two and email the pics to my gmail account so they are ready to use when I get home. I've also experimented with geocoding some pics at globedroid.com. Kudos to Scrabble Dogs for the FTF of Tortoise1 Offroad my first TC.
  2. Wow! I definitely have to get my game up to snuff. I think I'll still hide the typical plastic container for most of my caches, but my creative juices are flowing. Stay tuned. If this gal gets into geocaching, we are all in trouble. Vanishing Skoda
  3. Getting a tick in the Mojave Desert has been a fairly rare experience for me. On the odd occasion that I do, I use tea tree oil in a small bottle. I invert the bottle over the tick and it backs itself out. The tea tree oil soothes the bite location as an added benefit. Now ants on the other hand are a real pain out here. A little "Off" seems to keep most of them at bay.
