  1. Wait a minute, since when do personal geocoins have to be geocaching related? The webpage indicates that the Tee coin is a personal geocoin. A personal geocoin is about the person and if we start knocking every personal geocoin than we can stop chasing two highly sought after personal geocoins because they have nothing to do with geocaching. Personal geocoins are about the person's interests and hobbies. My personal geocoin has a panda on it because I love bears, especially pandas, so the geocoin was designed to show that interest. Just what I was going to say. However I have seen golfballs in a cache so the tee would be geocaching related.
  2. I got the Tumbleweed Geocoin on Sat and a podcacher coin last week. Others came in the mail also. Richard of the GEoCrickets
  3. To me if the cache was hidden for the event and then removed after the event it or they are part of the event and should not count unless each had their own log book and is on some goecaching site. This is just how I see it and others will have a different view. Richard of the GeoCrickets
  4. At one time that was true. Now even if you only do a run on 250 coins you may not sell them all or it will take time to sell them all. Richard of the GeoCrickets
  5. Have you seen the price of silver. it's at $14.30 a ounce and for a coin like that one it's not a bad price. Richard
  6. All of the Antique Silver sets are already spoken for. There are 7 Antique Sets left and plenty of the Copper. Thanks! So what is left? First you say no Antique Silver and then your next sentance you say 7 Antique are left. Richard of the GoCrickets
  7. Hello, everyone Can't wait to see how this one comes out. Also just to let everyone know RCGDS is having it's monthly gathering on the 13th in COLOMA . If you have not been here come by and say hi. The event will be held at The Marshall Gold Discovery State Historical Park will be open along with the museums. Fishing and swimming are permitted in the river however, panning for gold is not. There are several geocaches in the area, as well. I strongly recommend you take some time to visit some of the many features of this wonderful park. Hope to see you there. Richard
  8. I think it is fine as is. What would make this any different then a 1/1 you use the gps to get to the starting point. Just in this case you need to then find the cache using the video. Even on most puzzle caches you only use the gps for 1 waypoint. Yours is at the beginning and not at the end. Richard of the GeoCrickets
  9. I'm hoping the cache owner didn't "modify" the rail. They are there as a protective barrier for vehicles. Take a couple of bolts out to make a swinging hidden container, and you may weaken the strength of the barrier. I'm guessing the cache owner didn't have permission to remove any bolts... Ed If you look at the picture it look like the each post only has one bolt to hold the rail on. So I don't think any bolt was removed. Richard
  10. ...except that they aren't selling anything. And except that the Podcacher site owners are here in the San Diego area, and GeoCrickets are way out in Lodi! Back to the on-topic post. itrax and foxtail, the people behind the podcacher site listed what I assume to be the first podcache right here in town. I didn't have a portable MP3 player at the time, so I listened to it on my computer and took notes. It was a pretty cool twist on the caching experience. I have not talked to itrax or foxtail but I did come by their site and liked their idea of the podcache. I may try to do something like that here if I can. Lodi is only about 400 miles from the San Diego Area so it's not that far out.
  11. If you look at the one above it says nothing about listening to a mp3 file to get to the cache. Yes it has Podcast in it's name but to me this is not a podcact cache. Richard
  12. Do you have a PodCache in your area? If you do not know what a PodCache is let me explain. It is a cache that you download a MP3 file into any MP3 Player and listen to it while looking for the cache. The file give you directions to the cache. If you do not have a MP3 player you can listen to it on your computer take notes and then go out and find the cache. Look at this cache http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...5d-69dd3b204c7a you will see what I am talking about. Also there is a site called podcacher.com and you can get more info on podcasting. They also put on a show about geocaching each week and I think it is one of the best shows about caching around. Richard of the GeoCrickets
  13. Yes you have.... compass rose 2006, Temecula Balloon Event and SWAGS #3 How can you tell when you've seen something transparent? You can see the metal under the enamel. Richard
  14. I stopped reading here. It was THE FIRST geocoin. Period. There was another geocoin that came out at the same time as his. Moun10bike's was the first one to be tracked on GC. What was that coin?
  15. Thier is still a few left of each, so if you want one and did not get one now is the time. Richard of the GeoCrickets
  16. I would like to add the Breaking Down the Wall event coin to the list. The motto of our event was "The Only Numbers that count or Friends you make" I am the one that had the coin made. Richard
  17. So when is the Next event for the CVC? Richard
  18. have to get an email out to Aaron and find out. I think Brian at GS will do batch up loads of Icons on Fridays or so. That way we will see 4 or 5 icons come up at the same time. Richard
  19. I have been to many events where that has been done. I could have many more if I did that my self. I look at it this way. If the cache does not have a log book and is only temporary it is part of the event. It is a event game and part of the event. To me the only numbers that matter are the friends you make. I just put on a event and that was the theme for the event. To me if a person want's to log a cache put out for event only that is for them to deceide if they want to log them not me. Richard
  20. I just checked there is less then 100 left. Would love to see these gone in the next few days. Richard
  21. One other thing if anyone would like to get the Gold or Silver Ver. of the Event coin go Here Richard
  22. Hello everyone. The event well. I have some left over coins from the event. Remember the copper coins that were at the event was only sold at the event. So if you did not make it to the event and would like a coin the price would be $8 per coin (cache or check) $8.50 per coin if you want to use PayPal. The price includes shipping. Please email me using Gc.com and I will get back to you. Richard of the GeoCrickets
  23. I Have your trade ready. I will send you a email tonight. Richard
