  1. hello, which of you groups is near to Newcastle upon Tyne? Our question is this, we have a TB stuck in UK and want it to come back to the continent to travel further to the Northcape. We hope by this question, that some-one who lives nearby Newcastle upon Tyne, has to go to the continent and will take our TB with him. Our TB is Lamoer Gibraltar to North Cape. At this moment it is in traditional cache: "Is it a Stile Deer? GC2W9M2" We are Dutchies who live in France. Dropped the TB last year in Gibraltar and want the TB to go to the North Cape where we will go and get it, when it gets there. Hope you people can help us out. Happy Hunting, Team Lamoer
  2. If you posess a 4x4 or mountainbike or motocrossbike and you're in France try our newest cache series for some real off-roading in any class you feel fit. (it's easy to skip an off-road stage if you feel uncertain to do the heaviest parts) : Off-Road Detective Enjoy the beauty of the green heart of France and find a comfortable picknick or overnight stay at the campsite of Masseret (exit 43 of highway A20 Paris-Toulouse). You can even rent a hut or a mobile home. No, we have no commercial interest with this reply on the forum, only wish to share our lovely habitat with those who can really appreciate it like fellow geocachers. Have fun, have a cache :-) Team Lamoer
  3. I've come across many geocaches that are solely in native language. I think that people should be made aware (via the people that grand geocaches when they are placed on the site) others outside the country concerned can't participate. I understand that this is not easy for everyone and certainly the logs are hard to fill in two languages. Apart from "allowing" only two language caches on the sites, the site designers could add maybe some more buttons to translate any page or log to english (via google translate service for example)? Hopefully this might keep things a joy for everybody worldwide! Ernie.
  4. I'm the type of geocacher that like to go straight ahead to my target and therefor don't mind climbing / descending but that sometimes makes my girlfriend has to wait with our dogs (who always come along). I find that using those 500mW licence-free portophones (walkie-talkie) really aids in safety, comfort and above all discretion. Nothing is so embarrasing as people coming to our aid thinking something is going on cause we have to shout at eachother... BUT there are lots of models and types on the market in prices ranging from 50 to 150 euros (nearly the same in USdollars nowadays...). --> My suggestion is to add among the reviews of GPS models also these Portophones! I bought myself a set of Midland M48's for 60 euros in France and I'm really pleased with them. Hope sharing this experience helps others, Ernie
  5. Dear site developers, I tried to find an explanation for the word Groundspeak but failed finding it on the site. Therefore I'd suggest it might be nice to add some extra text about it at the appropriate place on the site? keep up this great outdoors activity! Ernie
  6. Dear geocaching.com devellopers, since there is no consistency in the geocaching sites URLs per country (e.g. holland = geocaching.nl where france = geocaching-france.com), I'd like to suggest to add a link in the profile of the user to the according country-geocache-site. It might even be possible to be auto-logged-in as well after clicking on the link? Apart from this, I find it strange that I can't see any other hint or clue whatever about the existence of geocache sites per country and how to get there. hope this helps everybody in surfing the geocache sites more easily? Thanks for making this fantastic new outdoors hobby possible! regards from Erwin.
