I did not ask for the discount. The Clerk offered it when I saw the sticker was $499 and I said I would shop around first before buying it. That's when he offered $30 and wrote 30% on the hold ticket. I've done enough good deeds in my life to sleep well at night. I ain't losing any sleep over this one. you guys are entitled to your opinions, as I am to mine. Like I said, only people I care about have opinions about me that I care about.

So I will take a group of underprivileged kids geocaching. Then, when I post on that, we can resurrect the "are all geocachers white" thread.

I've been on both sides of the fence but finally decided which one I liked better. When I was a kid I deposited 100.00 in the bank. My statement came back 700.00. I waited for them to catch it in an audit they didn't. A lot of time passed and they never caught it. I was home free. So I went to the bank and said "Hey, you guys made a mistake." In the past there have also been times when a clerk has handed me too much change and I kept it. But it bugged me so the next time it happened I corrected them and they thanked me for it. Some of them have it come out of their check. The bottom line is we don't always do the right thing, but we do know what the right thing is and should be willing to own up to it. The most annoying thing about a hypocrite is that they are right. You just reminded me of something. When I was 9, I found $1600 cash in the school parking lot. It was a parochial school, so when I took it to the principal, he sent me to the Parish church. When I told them what happened, they said they would hold it to see if someone would claim it, and if not they'd give it back to me. No one ever did, but when I asked for it, I was told it had been sent "to the poor kids". Maybe this was me getting a nice favor in turn.

Geez, if I knew I was going to stir the hornets nest I'd have kept my mouth shut. My intent was "hey, this is what happened, somthing worked out in my favor for a change", not that I got one over on the store. To boot, it goes to show what our schools are teaching. If you don't know the difference between the $ sign or the % sign you shouldn't be working retail. And I don't for a second by the holier than thou act I'm getting here. Faced with the same situation I doubt everyone that got on my case would be quick to point out the error.

What if getting the discount was Karma coming back to me? I always help the hungry, homeless, needy. I stop on the expressway when someone has a flat. When anyone asks for my help, I do what I can. Maybe I was the one who got the lucky break this time?

The note he wrote said clearly 30%, and the girl went by the note. I don't see how I deceived or defrauded anyone. It was the store clerk who wrote the note that should have been paying attention.

How about paying attention? If the clerk does not know the difference between the $ sign and the % sign, it's their fault.

Just wanted to share this story. I went into a local marine shop to see if they had the 60cs in stock. Sure enough they do, list $499, but at that price I rather go online. The clerk says I will give you $30 off, BUT he writes 30%, with the % instead of $. I thought let me come back tomorrow and see what happens. Sure enough, the girl at the counter rang it up at 30% off, and got $150 off the price!!! Just had to tell some one!!

A GPS that works in England will work in USA. I use mine in USA and in Brasil, no problems. HOWEVER: if you buy the GPS in Europe, it may may European base maps, depending on which unit you purchase. Depending on hwere you plan to reside, you may want to wait before you buy a higher end model with basemaps installed. You should browse the forums, see what is said about the various models, and also look for reviews. Certain people are particular to certain brands. Some like Garmin, some like Magellan, it depends. If you wanrt to start right away, maybe consider a simple model, under $100, and then when you are ready to upgrade, you can sell it or keep it as a back up. In my opinion, and others may think otherwise, it's best to purchase the software for roadmaps, depending on which model you get, it may come preinstalled, and which unit you buy will detirmine if the software is compatible with your unit. Most of your questions are dependent on which unit you decide to buy.

I would like to know if this is possible. It's a silly cosmetic thing, but I'd like to know if I can do it. The 60 comes in a nice olive green. The cs is grey. I would like to know if changing the case from one to the other is a simple procedure. I like the olive green color with the 60cs inards. Can this be done? Thanks

try this site: geocaching brasil and maybe in the contacts someone can help you.. look through the cahces in brasil, i trhink i saw some with notes in english, maybe they are locals that speak english.. if you go and find someone there, you can make ALOT of money back taking a gps to sell, cause the markup is HUGE for hightech stuff in brasil..
