  1. Each have their own ways in and out, they are all free, so why not try them all and see what best suits your needs, it's like a GPS, you better try it out in your hands before making a decision. I personally like Photobucket, but the others are just as good, I just like to "look and feel" better of that one. And as for the original topic on this, the reason you can't find it anymore is because it got moved to the Off Topic section a while back, which of course so will this one if a Moderator feel the need for it. 8. I actually delete the notes on mine cause I don't want them in the way when I search for something.
  9. This as just come to my attention that there is this trend now to log event caches more than once because they had un-approvable caches on the site that you found. What the? This is the first I heard of this, has anybody here seen this in action? Have you ever logged an event more than once? What do you all think of this?
  10. The idea is to do this in a very public area, and get people to ask questions about what is happening, and then we tell them about geocaching. We will be handing out pamphlets to those who want more info. The geocachers will still meet afterwards in another location to continue talking and stuff but not at point zero we leave that place in confusion. So no it's not about the numbers, it's about thinking outside the box and having fun doing it.
  11. Mine has been published for Montreal GC16JEZ - WWFM - Montreal Flash Event Mondial Anybody else here creating one? It's quite simple, all the caches will be at the same time (9 am BC, 12 noon Quebec) across the world on November 10th and will only last for 15 minutes. Here is the ever increasing list of flash events around the world This guy (GC16ENW) has a pretty good description of the event has it unravels in the short time.
  12. Drivers warned: Don't trust your Sat Navs Wed Aug 29, 2007 8:56AM EDT By Andrew Hough LONDON (Reuters) - Britain's first official road signs to warn drivers about the dangers of trusting their satellite navigation devices (satnavs) were introduced on Tuesday in a Welsh village. The signs, introduced by authorities in rural St Hilary, in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales, to warn drivers about placing too much faith in the directional gadgets, could be brought in across the country if the trial is successful. Problems were reported after foreign drivers found it difficult to understand phrases such as "unsuitable for heavy goods vehicles" but could understand pictorial notices, media reported. The four signs have been introduced around one particular black spot in the village, where the electronic devices direct truck drivers to a shortcut between the main M4 motorway and Cardiff airport. The road is far too narrow for many to travel down, causing them to get stuck and sparking major traffic problems. More than a dozen large lorries had become stuck in the road in the past six months, according to traffic engineer Mark Simpson who came up with the idea for the signs. "We have had a series of problems with drivers getting into trouble by trusting their satnavs and we needed to do something about it," Simpson was quoted in newspapers as saying. "They can send drivers on the most direct routes which turn out to be narrow roads completely unsuitable for heavy and long trucks and lorries. Satnav can be a wonderful tool for drivers but it does have its dangers." If successful, officials plan a national roll-out of the signs to combat what is seen as a growing problem for frustrated motorists, with recent figures showing that more than four million of Britain's 32 million drivers rely on satnavs. Some have reported that software glitches have sent drivers down one-way streets or up impassable mountain tracks. One ambulance driver with a faulty satnav drove hundreds of miles in the wrong direction while transferring a patient from one hospital in Ilford east of London to another just 8 miles away. A spokesman for the Welsh Assembly regional government said that officials would be "watching closely" the trial's results before deciding whether to expand the program. He also said that officials from Britain's Department of Transport had been consulted and were also monitoring the experiment. © Reuters 2007. All rights reserved.
  13. Et si c'est pas GF qui fait le bumb?
  14. I don't know about that, when the small size came out, I went back and edited the small ones I had. I would do the same with the nanos I have (3). PS, the first nano I placed was back August of 2004 (GCK8FV) and was called TiniMiniMi , everybody who found it liked that this was the smallest thing they had ever seen. Of course back then it was unknown. Now they are everywhere. PPS. I want to get in with the name calling bits. "You, you, YOU POSTERS YOU!"
  15. Actually you should copy the maps to the "detailed map" directory, not the geocaching directory.

  19. The seat in front of my computer? (notice how my answers are always right but yet always wrong)
  20. If you do not know plumbing then you would have a more difficult time than if someone would say how they did something and with what parts. I guessed at the parts and priced them in 1.5" PVC and did not lie on the prices. So either i looked at the wrong parts since i guessed, or they are in fact the price that i said (at least in this area). I looked at a cap, A threaded adapter and a threaded end. It was at least $2.50 and possibly over $3.00. And you dont get much more cheap than home depot. Maybe you are not sharing because you are trying to sell these here. You consider this expensive? It's all a matter of perspective I guess, I have caches that have cost me over 50$ to build, I would certainly not consider the build of a little plastic pipe expensive.
  21. in old Quebec behind the fortifications just in front of the Chateau. It was actually a reverse cache I logged
  22. The cache has been running for a year now with great success, especially since it's installed in a Loblaws near an LPC, everybody goes for the LPC first. GCXTC4 - The Laws of Lob
  23. Just a thought. I would be concerned that it is mistaken for a pipe bomb. I agree...looks like a pipe bomb. Neat container that took some TLC to make but probably going to cause some alarm. We hear about bomb squads being called out and destroying caches....this would be a prime example. Hummm size is probably more at issue here (hard to tell from photo), this is only the size of a small tube, less than my finger and the installation is to be placed between a post as some sort of holding screw.
  24. Another cache has been created and approved inside of Parcs Canada: GC13HD3 - LES FORGES Geocacher : parcs canada is on a roll...
