  1. Are you talking about when you use a date earlier than today? I logged a few caches and TB's and it was fine but they all had today's date on them. Earlier or later. In Australia we are ahead of your timezone so we need to set the date 1 day ahead. Doesn't appear to be sticking.
  2. WINXP SP2. IE7. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?ID=515349 Click on the picture of the calendar. Javascript error. Error is: Line 7 Char 11556 Unknown runtime error. If I try and change the date manually, clicking after the day and before the slash of the year, it automatically highlights the year. Clicking after the month and before the slash of the day it highlights the month. It's terribly unusable.
  3. <a href="mailto:xmowers@att.net">EMAIL</a> Note spelling of href and space between a and href.
  4. Maybe when that forum learns not to delete its users accounts on a regular basis (I had the hide not to use it for 3 months and that was it, no reminder email or anything like that letting me know ) I also like how even though I havent been able to access that place for quite some time the members expect me to some how check it before placing caches judging by an email I recieved a while ago....... Your account is still active, I've just checked it.
  5. There are 10,000 caches in Australia and it's a dadgum big country. Where are you going to be, that would help narrow down the possibilities.

  7. This was using this URL: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/gmnearest.a...p;lng=149.13948 Mapping seems to work so I'm not sure what this means or is it a bug with the geocaching code? Paul ya it's a bug in their code. your account doesn't have permission to view images that are needed. the only way to fix it is buy a premium membership. Really? I'm not even logged in and it works for me. I'm not sure if your post in in jest or not, but I wouldn't go misleading the newbies if it is.
  8. This has now been corrected. Apologies.

    Seasons

We have four seasons but none of them are called "fall". We also start our seasons on the 1st of the month, so 1 December is the start of summer, then autumn 3 months later, followed by winder in June, July, August and then spring. Christmas in Melbourne this year was 16 degrees C which is about half of what it usually is, so we were all wrapped up inside with the heater on rather than out in the poool in the glorious cancer causing sun.
  10. How many points do we get for this bonus? All monthly bonus feats are worth 5 points each. Then you have to take a look at the game site, because I logged the bonus and got only 1 point Apologies. I wasn't sure whether every bonus feat was worth 5 points. This has been corrected.
  11. The ladder has been corrected. Sorry about that.
  12. Feats are only available to be claimed from the game commencement. When the game commences you will find a link to log your feats in the navigation area on the left hand side of the page. The first bonus feat commences in around 22 hours. http://www.cachinggames.com/80caches/feats.php
  13. Sure, but it has a different tracking number and tracking page --- i have no problem with this myself, Using the travel bug number is best. When you are creating a balloon you are prompted to enter Balloon ID: which should be the TB number. And a Balloon Name, which is your choice. Sorry for the confusion I will ask caughtatwork to clarify it on the page Apologies for the confusion. I got my terminology mixed up. A fix has been released so you can ONLY enter a TB number. If you attempt to enter the PC number, it won't be accepted.
  14. I will talk to the webmaster to see what we can do. You may need to sign up twice. It is listed in the Racer Balloon Wikipedia I didn't want to add it to the mailer since we are just finalizing the game mechanics in the website. 'tis now. avroair and I were in beta test when the game was announced, so he beat me to the punch. I'm based in Australia so I was 16 hours behind (or 8 hours ahead, or something) avroair. Sorry for the inconvenience. I'm a one man operation who does this all for fun, so if you notice something wrong, bring it to our attention and we will get it fixed ASAP.
  15. Sorry, the game engine only allowed for one ballon per member. As membership is free, please signup with a 2nd user name (say ParentsofSAM2 or KidsofSAM) and one balloon attached to each member. Regrettably I didn't notice that this was possible until after the game engine had been released, so I apologise for the inconvenience.
  16. cachinggames.com webmaster here. Yes, please use the tracking number for your balloon. It will then appear on the ladder so others can see what your balloon has been up to
  17. The requirements are now publicly viewable. You can now team up prior to the official game commencement. About Tassie Devils is now publicly viewable. Enjoy and hoping to find a suitable cacher in a far away country that I can have some fun with over the next few months. Regards. caughtatwork (site owner).
  18. Groundspeak purposely obfuscate the co-ordinates for any bug drop (in and out) in the Google Earth kml files. I believe it has something to do with Groundspeak not wanting you to able to directly find a bug in a cache by simply looking at the kml file. This is related to the new improvement to mandate logging into the site to get co-ordinates for caches. ie. Even if you hadn't logged in you could still find the cache from Google Earth which Groundspeak want to stop you doing. This obfuscation was developed to avoid this. HTH.
  19. Good point. As the .kml file is specifically provided for use in Google Earth, I would have hoped that it wouldn't have contained unparsable characters. Maybe a slightly different request, such that when the .kml Google Earth file is generated, it removes/replaces "smart quotes". That way they can still be entered when logging, but when the .kml file is generated for use in Google Earth it will still work.
  20. When you click on the View in Google Earth link on the following Travel Bug Google Earth returns a Parse Error on Line 51. http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.as...1b-7356f5017318 This seems to be due to the "smart quote" in the word I'll by: 2/15/2005 mtbikeroz retrieved it from Pins & Needles Is it possible to disallow the use of "smart quotes" in TB logs and / or descriptions goals? This then enables the View in Google Earth link to work correctly.
  21. The Crown Promenade hotel on Whiteman street in on the South side of the Yarra River alongside the Crown Casino complex. The Central Business District for the city of Melbourne is on the North side of the Yarra River. The postcode for Melbourne is 3000 and you can search by postcode for Australian locales. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.asp...p=3000&dist=100 From the hotel, you can walk through the casino complex onto the promenade along side of the Yarra. Two of my caches are along the casino side of the Yarra on the promenade. Muggle Heaven: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...7e-a891f510d577 Southbank: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...ea-6f454c9b6b42 If you click on the link on those cache pages for Find ... all nearby caches, you should find plenty to occupy your time in the CBD and in the surrounding suburbs. June is in the middle our winter. It won't snow, but it will likely be cold and wet. The temperature during the day will probably be around the 14 degres C mark. This link might help you to determine what weather we get at that time. http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/averages/tab...cw_086071.shtml Don't forget to convert C to F if you need to. Hope you enjoy your stay in Melbourne.
  22. Not too sure whether this is against the sites policy, but the kml file for your TB is an XML file which can be parsed to provide the necessary details of distance and where it currently is. You will need to write an XML parsing program to achieve this (which can be parsed in real time on your website), but they're not too hard if you know something about programming.
  23. Stop or dramatically slow down? I used to have this problem and it seems that the log file 'fills up' and then gets dymaically extended each time plucker plucks a new record, effectively killing the process. I switched over to sunrise to create the files and then on the palm use plucker to read them.
  24. Identified the closest caches, went and tried to find three (all failed), worked out how to use the GPSr, tried to find them again, success and then I signed up. Would I have created an account just to see the co-ords. Probably not. I dislike signing up to see what's on the other side of the fence.
  25. The Knights who say "Ni": http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=GCG38Z This may be of assistance in your quest.
