  1. Yep different place different smiley only if you log it. Some would do it, some wouldn't. Play the game the way that you enjoy it.
  2. Yep I can remember my first log and we still have the first thing we traded for.
  3. Many of my caches are multis from CO to AZ and a map would only show you where they start. I'm not about to let out all of the secrets.
  4. I'm one of those old men, do you think you can find one of my backcountry caches.
  5. My lizard has arrived. And is ready to travel.
  6. Sometimes you have to move the bushes to find the cache.
  7. Can I have the coordinates for your front yard, I'll be there shortly with my micro extraction tool.
  8. I've been low tech for almost 10 years, and guess what. Most of the hi techers can't find many of my caches because I use shoe leather and a compass. If you like what you are doing then keep it up.
  9. Tis like caches on private property. Coords have to be correct, eliminate the search that ruffles the area, and make the instructions very clear. And if in doubt, just move on (ignore). I have one that has been around for a few years. Lest we forget
  10. At least he can tell his story. He's lucky. But look at the facts ... "Emergency workers said the Underwood was apparently climbing a cliff, and when he was about 20 feet up, somehow accidentally pulled a 30 to 35 pound boulder down with him. Almost sounds like the story about a year ago where the cacher wasn't able to tell his story. Hope he recovers and will learn from this experience.
  11. Sounds like you found some LOCOWEED, in a cache. You have stated very clearly that a Premium member is able to hide better quality caches. So give us some insights as to how a premium member has such knowledge and wisdom. I would like to know, so I could upgrade some of my back country caches from a measly 5 x 5 to maybe a 5 x 7 or maybe even higher. Please explain or go sit on a park bench and look for MOC.
  12. Why not do it BassAkwards: F T F = First To Fail D N F = Did Not Fail
  13. If Brian can make it to AZ I'll gladly dance around a Cholla with him. Bring it on. Cache on
  14. Very well said. I definately agree with this one. Caches have gone up in quantity and down in overall quality. I'll be an old fuddy duddy and stick with my caching roots. Quality over quantity.
  15. And a micro in the woods is a good traditional stage that will drive them nuts.
  16. GC1HMFK, only when its cool. And then there is GC57!!
  17. At first the MOC caches would show up and you could log them with no problem. Now they don't even show up even if I've found them. I'll just watch and wait and see what happens.
  18. Good luck the haven't logged in since '08 and when you find their profile they don't show any caches owned. Do you have the GC# of the cache in question. And have you contacted the local reviewer.
  19. TOPO is the way to go. For backcountry travel learn how to use UTM's also.
  20. If the Lily Pad says its cool then dive in.
  21. Who are the two cachers? And what is the cache that might be in question.
  22. I've been using the Beta Maps for a short time and I find that the print out of the grid that I want to do a search of is very printable and works just fine.
  23. One of my favorites is a very unusual Cache. And the next one shows you what some backcountry and virtuals etc are all about. GC1PFYM. After that its any cache that I find. They are all fun in their own way.
  24. Get a GPS, and use it and also you can set up distances and bearings with Mapsource. IMHO phones are for conversations, not for hiding quality caches.
  25. Tweezers, small mirror, darning hook and a small stick to re-roll the log around. All of this along with a small flashlight fits in a eyeglass container which fits in the cargo pocket of the pants. And there is a small tool box in the nearby cachemobile just in case I need something else.
