  1. I wonder when it comes to some site improvements. All changes in recent months pointing to a deterioration in the quality of the site, a reduction possibilities and comfort of geocacher ..
  2. x- (x={Czech, Slovak, Polish, German, Austrian, ...}) Wood Geocoins (xWGs) are non-trackable sigitems, despite the confusing name "geocoin". They were created a few years back to improve quality of trade items, and they evolved into an obsession for many Czech cachers. The Wood Geocoin is a small (diameter 35mm and thickness 7mm) wood knot with laser-burnt geocacher's or team's or event's logo; on the back side id the Geocaching logo (used with permission from Groundspeak). People collect them, trade them, there are xWG exhibitions, etc. When you find one in a cache you should trade it, ideally for your own or any other xWG. If you don't have any you should put to the cache another item of the same or higher value. To give you an idea, the exchange value of one CWG is usualy 10CZK (e.g. 0.35 EUR). Some CWGs are really nice. In german you can see information on YouTube:
  3. For geocaching database i use free GeoGet (another Geocaching and waypoint management tool). On GeoGet's map solved mystery have another icon, and final waypoint are visible. For geocachind i use a>Drake, which use database from GeoGet with the same distinction between icons. Webpage is only for rough orientation.
  4. I think the bigger problem is a 50 km radius limit. I prepared the data for a tour of the Caribbean and in the end it was more than 40 fields for just about 2000 caches!
  5. I have a problem often evaluate FP one out of ten. And often that one is still PMO Cache - such FP get from me ever.
  6. Yes, they have. Hint: Your profile's map tab You mean GS statistics ? Why such nonsens when exist better ?
  7. Groundspeak has a flags somewhere? I've never seen..
  8. Exist Earthcache owners, they control EXIF in posted fotos.
  9. Assuming that you're not currently formatting HTML or UBB using your GPS or cellphone, the changeover to Markdown would not affect your plain text field note logs. Why not ?
  10. Please be more specific. Which country do you mean? Hans NB: I doubt you meant Ladonia. Oh, nooo, Sorry, I dont know about Ladonia. I mean Kosovo ! One simple reason, the UN does not recognize Kosovo as a country. And UNO recognize triply Nevis and St Kitts ?
  11. Please be more specific. Which country do you mean? Hans NB: I doubt you meant Ladonia. Oh, nooo, Sorry, I dont know about Ladonia. I mean Kosovo !
  12. One small island in Caribbean and THREE Groundspeak-Countries on it ! Do not believe? http://coord.info/GC6A4PQ ... "St Kitts" http://coord.info/GC6B1AJ ... "Nevis and St Kitts" http://coord.info/GC669AK ... "Saint Kitts and Nevis" In comparison with this waste, in Europe there is a country which has not received the right to have their Groundspek-country!
  13. Does the tool even work while creating a log from a field note? I thought it only operated on existing logs. Also, why would you enter BBCode or HTML in a new log and then use the tool to convert it rather than just using Markdown directly? Yes, the tool also started when processing fieldnotes. But it is quite bothersome steps to convert more logs. (sorry for google translate)
  14. Tool ? Good thing. But it is very difficult to use !!! When I processing logs from fieldnotes, i must click to many of buttons - and at end of conversion the tool not return to field notes processing !!! Such tool should work automatically without harassment of user !
  15. I do not understand what the problem should be on mobile devices. Since my beginnings seven years ago, I use quality 3party software, problem I'm just reading the listing that are stored in the image. But with this change I do not know how I'll just take on the mobile device new logs, none of Groundspeak does not want to explain.
  16. The problem with the ALT key = typically American, in America is ALT-key not necessary for writing characters. The third time asking questions (no answer yet) - as in the offline logs using fieldnotes insert a line break? Thanks and log in another language, I used to be separated by blank lines.
  17. When you write the NA log, the log is sended directly to the Reviewer. Deleting of such log is only cosmetics on the website of the event.

    EVENTY, EVENTY

Zapraszamy do (mini) Mega Event - stan MEGA jest oficjalnie przypisana!
  19. Good question. My girlfriend has a nick Naty* and nearly every log I mention her nickname as we hunted together. Will be this nick displayed correctly, or it will be appropriate to rename a girlfriend? And if you rename it, so as not to be another problem?
  20. Assuming that you're not currently formatting HTML or UBB using your GPS or cellphone, the changeover to Markdown would not affect your plain text field note logs. Closely related to the acquisition of logs using Fieldnotes. Fieldnotes format is very simple, the entire log is on the same line, if you want to divide into multiple lines, there simply will place "BR" in brackets (or <br> of course). This manage bulk even the simplest editor (Notepad), how to do it in Markdown is a complete mystery to me.
  21. Call me skeptical, but two words: "Message Center". I'd love to know what subset of the user base was queried about that feature before it was implemented as a fait accompli. Interesting is, that for reviewers is disabled link to message center on treir profile pages. When it is possible for reviewer, why not for "plebs" ?
  22. Wisiwyg editor ? Nonsens for user who mahe logs via fieldnotes !
  23. Optimized for plain text ? Where and when ?
  24. There are not yet mentioned any, that the authors of geocaching-voltage applications will have to be reprogrammed so that the imaging logs of this was garbled. Groundspeak probably unaware that in the field is necessary occasionally to see the log, and legible. And because they are responsible programmers, those will have to do much better to show how Markdown, and BB and HTML code. Markdown is for users new learning elsewhere practically unusable. Compared to the general validity and practical similarities BBcode / HTML is the Markdown "language" rather quirky. Just the new line "command" is really "brilliant".
