  1. Gibt es zwischen dem 2.9. und 13.9. irgendwelche Geocacher auf Djerba und Umgebung (Zarzis)? Wir könnten einige gemeinsame Expeditionen machen.
  2. How about archiving the earthcache because of the photo request ? I found out that in Poland (for the uninitiated - this is in Europe) the US geoaware archived earthcache GC1D3A3 with the justification of the long expired no-photo rule. Players of course disagreed with the procedure and hunted this earthcache until recently. The question is whether the decision to destroy the cache because of the nonsensical requirement to ban photography should be reviewed. I don't know about other geocachers, but I put a photo with every earthcache and every virtual, and I don't care about some American bans that I shouldn't take photos.
  3. District boundaries are terribly inconsistent and chaotic on maps. For example Czechia, in the basic view there are some areas whose borders don't tell me anything. Areas generally used and defined in the GC system as "states" appear only in a larger zoom. Borders of areas corresponding to German or Austrian "Landesbezirk" do not appear at all. A similar situation appears in Slovakia, Hungary, Latvia and Albania. In Bulgaria, the division is shifted by one level, the basic areas similar to "State" appear only when counties are shown in the neighbouring states. Similarly in Croatia, Slovenia, Finland. A specific problem is Serbia and Kosovo. On the map (it is the same on Google maps) they are correctly two separate states, but Geocaching does not recognize Kosovo and still assigns it to Serbia.
  4. In my opinion, this cache is intentional from the beginning to misidentify the state so that a few geocachers can get another state cheaply. This is also reflected in the location of the final and the accompanying text and photos that it is across the border - but it is not a border but a fence bordering a 300 meter wide no-entry zone. It is not the only such cache in that area: GC84K2E is similar, - but there it is not such a big provocation, the virtual starting coordinates are in Russia. GC853BD is a multicache where the origin was in the Aland Islands (now archived).
  5. Final from both is near of posted coordinates, on Polish territory, 300 m from border. I thing, it should be changed by HQ !
  6. Why is it possible to create a cache that is assigned to another country? For example, the caches GC9W7MD and GC9W6GC are all in Poland (i.e. initial coordinates and final coordinates), approximately 300 meters from the russian border. Yet they are listed as being in Russia. Furthermore, these two have identical initial coordinates so they overlap on the map. Is there no rule to prevent these phenomena ?
  7. I don't see practical sense in that. It even bothers me a lot. There are many other features of the site that have been waiting for a long time to fix.
  8. https://coord.info/GC4H8ZM One newly archived for this nonsens from HQ.
  9. 1) YES !!!! 2) If we have a good offline database and information from the bookmark, there is no need to look for what it is.
  10. For many ducks, it is a specific discipline - so-called archeocaching. There are even bookmarks of such caches. And of course we are not only dependent on the web, we have our offline databases, not in GSAK but in another system with more options.
  11. For caches that do not have a filled territory (state) , the API now returns the value "None" (in GPX and on the web, this information is still empty). This innovation complicates the work with caches, because the programs are designed for an empty value. Is there any hope that it will return to its original state? "terrain": 2, "hints": "the olives are wise \/ Maslinite sa madri", "location": { "countryCode": "BG", "country": "Bulgaria", "stateId": 1, "countryId": 37, "state": "None"
  12. I think it's time to outlaw Flash. It was officially announced that the function of all flash players will be forcibly terminated at the end of 2020. This means that on January 1, 2021, it will not be possible to solve these mysteries. Although it is a long-known fact, why are new and new caches using this technology still being approved? Some browsers are already blocking Flash and these animations cannot be run on them.
  13. What are the rules with the initial coordinates of the caches at present? I thought there was a rule to prevent the icons on the map from overlapping. But now I have found a series of 36 caches that have the same opening coordinates. Why did this change happen? These are geocaches in Poland, GC codes from GC7KYD0 .. GC7KYHP
  14. I think some rules and bans are stupid. How can someone delete my face or punish me for posting my photo? Where are we ?
  15. This step affects thousands of geocaches who have their statistics in the profile. Although they can still upload them there, most of the improvements they've been working on for years have stopped working. It is not even possible to switch between different statistics sections, so there is a risk of returning to the old way, when everything was on a very long page. Additionally, some statistics generators are no longer supported by their creators, and this means a lot of work on switching to another system.
  16. I see all waypoints on map. I dont use GC.COm map, but use external geocaching database programm - GeoGet. I think, GSAK know the same... And in mobile phone application is also all visible.
  17. Better way is NOT to use solved final on Geocaching com site, but use any of geocaching database program (GSAK or GeoGet).
  18. Moving icon is nonsense. For solved finals is "Final waypoint".
  19. https://coord.info/GC7B876 or are you wrong?
  20. This checker has two serious negatives that prevent you from using: 1) There is no information in listing about use of checker, perhaps even an HTML comment that could be decoded by third party programs 2) In case of successful verification, it will irreparably damage the cache information (overwrite coordinates) so I'm afraid to use it. For the purpose of finding a cache there is a substantial Final Waypoint and not some modified heading coordinates.

    maakunnat polygons

Currently, i have converted polygon data from National Land Survey of Finlant to format for geocaching programs - GeoGet or GSAK.

    maakunnat polygons

Thanks for the tip... But it is terribly surprising that geocachers in Finland do not have such a set of polygons made and we have to do it in the Czech Republic.
  23. Hi, We look for polygons for sorting caches according to the Finnish provinces (maakunnat) and then for viewing in statistics maps. Is there any such data file available or will we have to click on the map (about OSM?)?
  24. I have reported this problém in May 2016 - without an effect
  25. Good mobile with Locus or aDrake application.
