  1. The letterbox #21 (GC34GC9 Tubbs Hill Coeur d'Alene's Jewel)on the route could be between stop #24 & #25. You can drive right to it. You can see the road on your map. We just did it a couple weeks ago. The end of the road has room for a few cars without blocking any of the neighbors that live down that road. There are marked trail entrances from that road too. Hope that helps.
  2. Please look at our log for #34 GC1QDZP. We had parked in the cemetery and had the worker come over and talk to us. They are having trouble with the homeless making a mess in the cemetery so are keeping a close eye out for people parking in that corner. I don't think they are going to want 150 cachers coming to that cache from the cemetery. You might consider putting it on the do not do list just for that reason. Just a thought.
  3. The curse won't bother us. We'll still trade you for one. I believe we even have a coin you don't have in your collection.
  4. We thoroughly enjoyed doing the thunderbird! It took us about 8-9 hours to complete on our 4 wheelers and we didn't push it. Some rode their bikes, 4 wheelers and some drove their rigs. Those driving rigs, it took lots longer to complete. I'll post a picture later.
  5. I just received an email about a giant question mark that I didn't know was out there. Thanks Fledermaus for letting me know about it. It is "Bat's Night Out" / GCMAWF. It is near Bremerton WA.
  6. I was looking for caches in an area we will be traveling next month and ran across this geoart. It is a heart with the word, mom, written in the middle. GC2ZT6A From the Bottom of My Heart
  7. Loved the video. ISplash has already broke the new 2011 Suburu in for roads just like that one. No Problem. I wouldn't be surprised if we have a prius following us.
  8. Signal the Frog has visited North Idaho too. This is an area that you can walk, ride 4 wheelers or motorbikes. It is a little north of Orofino ID. The caches came out on Saturday, June 11th. Check out 01-Signal the Frog GC2WEEP
  9. Not exactly sure but I think the majority of the new trail will be where the old one was with the exception of the area that was considered dangerious and didn't offer any areas to pull off the road to get the caches. Scubasonic Check out the event page. GC2WK80 They have a website set up that will give you all kinds of info, including where to stay, how the caches will be set up and approximately when, weather expectations, etc. Just click on the links on the event page. According to what I read, they will all be further off the road around 50 ft or more. Can't wait.
  10. We also use gpsfiledepot.com but if you haven't used it before, be sure to read the how to section before putting on your gps. You have to be careful not to override the maps you already have on the gps.
  11. I will say first that I don’t usually read or make statements on the forums for what I thought was a very good reason. Most of the comments are negative and some outright nasty and throwing a blaming finger at other cachers. Even with all that and knowing that I will get some bad comments regarding my statement; I feel that I need to make a positive contribution regarding the ET power trail. And I hope others that enjoyed their experience will speak up too. This may not be the right spot to do this but I’m sure there is someone who will direct me to the right spot. But like I say, I don’t get on here often or know my way around them very good. First of all: Yes, we did the ET Power Trail with a group of 5 in our georig. Yes, we stopped at every single one and we stamped every single log. We did not leap frog and we did not grab one container and take it to the next cache site. And yes, we did it under 24 hours. I only say this to let you know I speak from experience and not from hearsay, or unsubstantiated opinion. Sure the numbers were great, but what made it more memorable was the beautiful scenery, the people we met along the way and our group we were caching with that day. This is only my opinion but I believe most of the cachers that did the ET power trail would attest to this too. I don’t have a problem with other caches that leap frog the power trails. I don’t believe it is right for me so I don’t do it. I believe you have the right to express your opinion but I hope that Groundspeak will not only listen to your negative opinions but will listen to those that have done the power trail and done it in a safe manner. If Groundspeak disallows power trail because of “safety” as some of you suggest should happen, then they will have to remove all caches and close their doors. Accidents can and will happen. To justify removing any type of caches for safety concerns is carrying things to the extreme. You or I can cross the street in a crosswalk with a green light and get hit by a car. Will you make it illegal to walk across the street? Same goes for caches. Be responsible when you cache. As to NDOT, I only have the info that has been stated on the cache page of ET 001 or here so it doesn’t count for much. But I know from experience that you can get permission from an organization or entity and then have someone else in that entity come along and disallow the cache. So, let’s get together as cachers and work together to improve our relationships with government entities. Don’t’ talk down about the sport or other cachers. Just because you don’t like power trails, doesn’t make it wrong for anyone else to like them. Allow us the freedom to enjoy caches of all types and layouts.
  12. Just a couple questions regarding this post. Is this something just recently adopted and can you give me a link to the website you are referring to. It would be appreciated. The ID Fish & Game in our area (Northern Idaho) have gone out of the way to help the geocachers in our area. They provided a fest for us at last year's CITO event and have given written premission to place caches out on their land. They were excited to have some there. I will definite recontact our local office but would like to read the info first. Thanks.
  13. We did the smiley near Victorville and the star with the Kokopelli series along with the alien head in NV to qualify for the challenge cache, 3 State Geo-Art Challenge GC2CJCM. They were all fun geo art's to do.

  22. (I think the Famous People series is over 600. The bridges series is at least over 700.) Where are these series located?
  23. Go to gpsfiledepot.com You can get free maps and the NW trails and you will be good to go. Hope it works for the 450t. Make sure you load it on the card and not on the gps. You don't want to lose the one you have.
