I have Northwest topo map installed on my Montana 600. It used to show the topo lines along with the trails. It still shows the trails but no topo lines anymore. I believe something changed in a update. Maybe I need to change a setting. I cannot find the right combination of settings to show them. Anybody have any suggestions?

I have a Montana 600 with city navigator installed. I also have the car mount and use it get to destinations. It used to do the recalculating thing when I chose a alternate route from the one it recommended. It no longer recalculates. I have version 4.7 installed right now. It will show the pink line but won't recalculate a new route. It used to do this not sure if a firmware upgrade removed this feature or what happened ? Anybody have a answer to my loss of this feature?

3.7 is not Beta software, just so you know. It's an official release.

I have the Garmin Montana 600 and I am seeing a issue entering a address. From the where to screen , I select address and when I put in a house # and hit enter it changes the address of 30480 202ND Ave SE to 26099 202nd Ave SE.Tried it multiple times and it gets it wrong each time.I tried some other address's and they all worked fine . Not sure why this one is giving me a problem. It does exist , I drove to it using my phone's gps.

I received a new Montana 600 today, Took about 2 weeks to get this replacement unit, The serial # is 28T010398. Only about 10,000 #'s later than the one that went bad. Was hoping it would be a much later serial. Can't help but think this one will also go bad.

I a new Montana 600 today after my other one went bad. I registered it on My garmin after they had it set up to receive my city navigator map. I also have a CN lifetime map update I was told would follow my new Montana. After re installing the maps to my card the GPS said can't unlock map and it won't appear on my maps. Not sure what I need to do ?

I've stated before that my Montana 600 was one of the good ones. I have used it for over 2 months without any issues. Yesterday while caching I started getting the deadly Montana screen problems. First it wouldn't respond to my touches , then it started putting flags down instead of moving through the screens. I had to reboot it twice to get through a cache find. Today it was not much better, it had trouble displaying the count down feet when I got close to a cache. Maybe that was a reception problem. But I fear I have the start of screen issues. I called Garmin and without to much explanation I got a RMA and sent it back today for a new one. I also got them to give me some new Garmin screen protectors. They would not however cover my shipping costs for sending it back. I am a little disappointed to say the least. Hopefully I get a much newer serial # with screen issue corrected.I am now without a gps for a few weeks.

There is obviously some issues with alot of the Montana's. But mine has not had any of the ones mentioned. Just saying I'm sure I am not the only one with a working Montana. To me its a great unit. I have confidence Garmin will keep issuing software updates that make it better.

Thanks everyone . I have successfully reloaded all my maps one by one and renamed them as I went. I have northwest topo with trails and Washington topo and Northwest trails. When I enable both Northwest topo , washington topo and Northwest trails the trails are not exact. Any one have a opinion which set up is more accurate?

I had all my maps downloaded to a 8 gb card. I tried downloading the topo map to my Montana. But it still doesn't show the topo lines. Not sure where the problem lies? Do you download all your maps directly to your unit or to a card? When I downloaded them one by one to my card , each map would erase the previous one. Ar least that's how it worked on my Oregon.

I tried to download my city navigator and some trail and topo maps to my Montana. First it took about three or four attempts before it finished the process. Then after I got it to go all the way through it doesn't show the topo maps . And all the maps I downloaded at the same time are grouped together on my Montana and can't be separably enabled. On my old Oregon 450 I had to download all the maps at one time to get them all on their. It seems to be a different for my Montana. Should I download each map one at a time? Or will each map override the other? Not sure how to get each different maps on it so they can be enabled separably. Thought I'd post here before I call Garmin.

It is software version 4.5 , gps software version 5.00 for the Garmin Oregon 450.I plugged in to Garmin.com , went to the dashboard and it said there was a software update available.

Did a software update check on Garmin.com and found 4.5 available . Downloaded it not sure what is new. Haven't seen any mention of it here. Anybody else download it or know what it changed?

What if I reverted back to another version like 3.4 and up graded to 3.8 from there would that work?

Help I to have my oregon 450 stuck in validating update mode after the download. How do I get it unstuck and updated?

I have a Oregon 450 with city navigator and some gpsfiledepot topo maps on it. While traveling in Oregon I notciced some OR rivers I passed not showing on the GPS. I know they were there and some were major rivers. They just weren't on the gps map as I passed them. Any clues how these got missed?

I recently upgraded my Gps to a Oregon 450. I had added city nav, wash topo and Nw trails to my old oregon 400t. I am now trying to add city nav 2011, wash topo and Nw trails to my new gps. Map source will not let me select the whole washington state area to download on the nw trails map. I can only highlight the eastern part to select for download. I posted on Gps depot and someone said it was a problem with the upgraded mapsource 6.15. I tried going back to mapsource 6.13 and that didn't help. Can anyone help me get Nw trails in western washington downloaded?

I have a year old garmin that I am thinking of upgrading to the 450. I added the city nav on dvd to it. Can I transfer this to a new 450? I have read garmin only allows the city nav on one unit. Anybody know a way around this policy?

I just returned my oregon 300 yesterday to R.E.I after a year of use and upgraded to the 450, It cost me an additional.95 cents to upgrade, plus I now have a $50.00 rebate in the mail. So using R.E.I is something to think about I to have a Oregon 400 that is 1 year old. I'd love to return it to REI for the 450. I have my reciept but I purchased city nav and I have read that it can not be transferred to a new gps unit . Does anyone know of a way of getting Garmin to unlock my city nav for a knew unit?

I have added cache stats to my profile. After updating it with added stats I reposted it to my profile. Now my profile shows both set of stats. How can I deletes the old stats from my page?

I just got a oregon 400t and downloaded the beta update 2.97. Now I see 2.98 available and I down load it. Should i go back and download previous updates? Or do these new updates cover stuff from older updates?
