  1. thanks for trying to help me out here. what is a pid? oh no, wait. i'm supposed to search the forum first. :D

you'd think the # on the actual benchmark would be of use here. i have lots to learn.

  2. i found this benchmark at n35 &degree 44.844 w085&degree 28.042. it was very near cache gcg7m6. it has # g43 1934 on it. it's in zip code 38585 i think and i took pictures. i haven't been able to find it on this site. it's too obvious not to be listed. so what i'm doing wrong here? sis

  3. upon returning from "the nashville arch", i found a policeman waiting at my car. i removed my disguise (part of my safety precaution), gave him my sweetest smile, and asked had he come to protect me? he shook his head and asked didn't i know better than to be in this area. i told him about the cache i had been too; but he still wasn't too happy. i thanked him for his protection and was on my way with a smilie for the scariest cache i've even done. and yes, i loved every minute of it!

  4. hi 'neko.

i think you should not miss "cumberland cliffhanger" in nashville if you haven't already done it. if you are through here after may 25th (school's out) i can meet up with you. i liked "sub pots" in birmingham; but i've barely scratched the surface there. "avian island" cache on the nc/sc line is probably my all time favorite.

  5. GC445F is on interstate 40 in tennessee.

our local club has this link:Rest Area caches in Middle TN and surrounding areas.

well, i'm not to savvy when it comes to linking. it's on the Middle Tennessee Geocachers' Club web site. maybe someone else will make a link for you...

    sis

  6. since there are so many and such an outrageous variety...approximately where are you staying? where in the world is in a beautiful cemetary... along with several other caches (5, at least) in the immediate area. downtown, the ones around the bridges are awesome as well as "going gibson" (very near interstate)...there are several, several in the down town area. jogps's multi takes you so some interesting sites including music row. bug juice of mossy field (a ways out) is indeed a beautiful walk with a park fee except on wednesday) the traditionals are scattered all around nashville proper (which is why i asked which side of town are you sleeping on). we have a web cam cache near downtown. we have some that tax your mind. you know, the kind you need a "phone a friend" for...some (but not all) have the words "geo mojo" in their title.

we're so happy to have you. come and enjoy.

  7. i liked the green lilliputins. that particular one was lost i believe; but it has relatives out there. it was a box with teeny tiny dolls lined up inside.

i also like the morphing cache. i wish it would have more pictures made of its' morphs. it's a french curve now, i think.

of course, i love my own...brother, happy, the rock from cherry grove.

i've seen a couple of firefighter 9/11 tribute bugs. they always sober me.

  8. i started reading this thread and about 1/5 or so of the way in i read snoogans profile. by the time i got to "her name was sacagawea goldstein" i was howling. i enjoy a good laugh from a log (in this case, a profile). so i wanted to send my compliments along.

i've gotten a few compliments through the years on "where in the world" (hidden in a beautiful cemetary) or my mcp's (folks wanting to collect my signature item). it does bring a smile when the poeple voice their approval.

  9. i couldn't get my traveling buddy into geocaching when i went to asheville; but there's this fabulous inn to have lunch...great view with tables on the porch. i think is was called the asheville inn ?? (someone from around there correct me if i'm wrong). we took the elevator (behind one of the massive stone fireplaces) to f. scott fitzgerald's regular room he used each time he came to asheville. rumor has it, he asked for this room each time so he could flirt with the girls coming in...

  10. my problem is with the first block, "cache type". it is that faint gray color. the rest of the blocks are black and therefore changable. the cache type being faint in color won't allow for change. so it leaves me wondering...how in the world?

  11. i pulled a search; but came up empty. don't know why... back in the summer someone put a note on the south/southeast forums about a tax refund we could get for internet usage. i looked into it. filed my request. ...today i received 114 dollars in adjustments! yahoo! thanks to who ever turned me onto this.
