  1. What is "the trifecta" ?

A trifecta is just a term used for three. It's actually a bet you make in dog/horse racing picking the top three. I was merely making mention of this in the fact that I was looking to find three cache that night. That's all.

Thanks. Was thinking that it was a local challenge (find 3 night caches on the fourth Thursday of the month on a cloudy night with a full moon) or something similar.

    <_< <_< <_< That makes me thinks....

  2. After many discussions with geo-pals I wonder how you pronounce CITO.

    Is it SIE TOE

    Is it SEE TOE

    Is it KIE TOE

    or something totally different?

pipe in any Lackeys for your input as well, since you guys came up with it anyways

posting on FB to see results as well

    I am just curious

as always Have fun, be safe and happy hunting

  3. Really good point about just handing over the cache to be returned by somebody who didnt make the find.

That usually means cache will not be returned to where CO originally hid it. Whoever made the original

find should be the one to return as found.

On a side note, go to alot of your local caching events and get to know your locals. You will start

    recognizing them on the trail.

  4. Although I use a GPSMAP62st I purchased a handlebar mount from manufacturer for 10 bucks.

I replaced zipties with slight wider and thicker ones and never had a problem. Of course

I wasnt using my mountain bike in the extreme but this mount worked well for me.

Part # 010-11023-00 is the same for the 20 and 62st.

  5. Not sure how I will ever use these stats but it looks good to see them in My Finds now.

I assume you mean your profile's "Geocaches" page rather than your "My Finds" Pocket Query. There hasn't been any announced plan to add Lab Caches to "My Finds." There was an announced plan to add Lab Caches to portions of the profile's "Statistics" page on June 3, but I don't think that has been implemented yet.

    OOPS, thats what I meant.

    Thanks for clarifying

  6. I must be blind, but how do I filter a search by D/T in the website? I can do it through the app, but here I cannot find it.

    Thanks!

    Tried using a Pocket Query?

You don't have to run it to get caches in the search.

BUT. If you want the caches you've selected you WILL need to actually run the PQ to get the gpx file.

    DITTO

  7. This was by far my most favorite challenge.

I started on this one when I had about 60 or so of the grid filled in.

With some collaboration from a few of my geo-pals we started this

in earnest. Tons of PQs from each of us and alot of research done off

we went each day to compete this one. Way too $ spent on fuel, ferries

    ect but really worth it.

As the story goes I hit a few snags along the way but persevered to

the end. Lo and behold I went searching for the Final by myself but...

    Yup, DNFd it. Ah crap.

Few days later went back and finally found it! Challenge complete.

And CO of Washington Fizzy gave me an 81 Coin to boot, cant beat that.

Challenges aren't to everyones liking but I Really enjoyed this one.

  8. pretty much depends on where hide is located, and even that can change over time

I once found a cache at base of tree on a cliff overlooking Puget Sound when I

heard crashing noises from above and at my feet landed an expired bunny, looking

    up saw an eagle-YIKES

unfortunately in my area some urban areas we have seen plenty of trash including

drug needles, I always look very closely before reaching...

  9. I'd also like to know, what percentage of geocachers in wheelchairs have a non-wheelchair caching buddy? I'm about to place a hide that can be seen by someone in a wheelchair, but not reached from a seated position. Do I mark it as wheelchair accesible or not?

I dont think so, thinking if it is not completely accessible (meaning reachable too) that it should not have the attribute.

Thinking if I was going to launch one and using the attribute I would find a good location then actually place it using a

    wheelchair.

One other thought is if you used the wheel attribute but it was not reachable, you could add the TOTT attribute and specify in

listing that a grabber tool was needed.

ok, there is my 2 cents worth

  10. Got kinda tired of some of the BS with GCing so took some time off. Besides life was kinda intruding.

    But...I am back.

Can rant about alot of the BS but wont, enough of that on here.

Anybody else take or took a break and are now back? Whats your story?

  11. I blatantly advertised my first Multi on Facebook.

Published as a MOC this made it even harder to attract seekers.

Slowly but surely it is getting found. My experience with Multis

is they get found the least...most cachers go for the easy ones.

But the ones that do go after a quality Multi usually offer cool

log entries and that is whats its all about, at least to me.

Have fun, be safe and happy hunting

  12. find a very cool park or scenic spot, get permission to build

make a bench, not an ordinary bench

but on with an ammo can or large storage area for

    log, trackables etc

that is accesses by geocachers only

maybe with a coded lock or....

    let your imagination go wild

    get permission

  13. GC2B0QE now archived

found an old Motorola pager in a cache one day....and it got me to thinking

so I took a bison and found that it was almost the same dimensions as a AA battery

machined bison to AA size, carefully peeled a real AA battery label off and

    adhered to the bison

stuck it in the pager and clipped it to a hedge branch

I took many coords and got perfect

published and it still took everyone way too long to find

had to finally archive because dang geocachers destroyed the bush

ended up giving it to a GC Lackey and waiting for it to re-publish somewhere

    in the Pacific NW

sorry about the blurry pics but you get the idea
