  1. Oh now come on, life wouldn't be much fun if we were all sane! And I can see writing "proper" logs from your dogs perspective must be a great creative writing exercise and as Deci says "It's fun!" We recently set a dog themed cache and wrote the page from Clova's prespective. It was great fun writing the cache page and a couple of cachers have also logged it from their dogs view on things which is fun to read. I dont think we would go all out and make a seperate dogs account (after all Clova is our team leader..) but for the occasional log it is FUN and as Birdman has said a great creative writing excersise. And as for introducing sanity into the procedings? We search for plastic boxes full of tat using multi million pound satellites just so we can scrawl our alter egos name on a bit of paper..... Is there any sanity involved???
  2. How much do we have to pay for those photos not to be published ? Nah - he looked very smart! Alba15 and Decci (both appropriately dressed)
  3. You can find a copy of the artwork we created here. Please be sure to read Groundspeaks Acceptable Use Policy regarding the image as it is a registered trademark. http://www.ukgeocachers.co.uk/tblogo.php Thank you so much that is exactly what I was looking for
  4. I'm sure (long ago) there was a jpeg of a large version of the barcoded travelbug logo on the site. I've searched g.com and tried a few searches on the forums but can't find it again. Has my memory gone or does anyone please know where I can find it again
  5. Choose newest in the United Kingdom from your profile page (assuming you haven't put your region in your profile) http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?country_id=11 Choose the double arrow to get you to the last page (page 1577) and that will take you to the oldest caches. The last 4 seem to be there in error. Thje oldest cache should be Scotlands First in Dec 2000. The ones below that all have a date of 1901
  6. In total agreement. After all the work Peter/Lacto has done for Groundspeak its disgusting that they have treated him like this. What makes it worse is that all he did was a harmless post to try and help Mandy out. Some recognition for all he has done for g.com
  7. Mandy, cant help you with the ebay thing but you are welcome to bring them up to try and sell at the Gathering in the Glens later this month. I cant believe that cachers will give you a definite order for a calendar then not pay. From speaking to you, I know the amount of effort and time it takes you to produce these calendars. Anyone who leaves you out of pocket after all that should be ashamed of themselves.
  8. Fancy a weekend in the wilds of Scotland? Great company, lovely surroundings, loads of great caches? This years Gathering is on 22/23/24 August (August Bank Holiday weekend in England) has now been published. The lodge has been filled within 12 hours of the page going live and there are reports of the nearby Clova Hotel and bunkhouse being inundated with bookings too. Anyone requiring accommodation for the weekend will find details on the event page or email us if you need help. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...76cdc&log=y Hope to see some of you there.
  9. Still having problems! Logged in as Team Clova and if I create a new search from Arbroath then the first page (1-25) comes up perfectly (the correct green happy face for our caches' and star ratings for ones found) If I go to page 2 (26-50) then there are no happy faces or stars! (and it should be full of them!) If I then remove the not founds the first cache it tells me has been found is one in Northumberland found by Teasel (and is marked by a red happy face) I also tried doing a 2nd search from Dundee- same result. But if I then use the previous search I did minutes before then no happy faces on the first page (removing the not founds again - back to Northumberland!!!!) Seems to be after the initial search page it's defaulting to finds by another cacher Hope this is understandable!!!!!!
  10. Thanks - Working perfectly now using a new search
  11. Its doing it for us too... Going from the home page clicking "My Stats" and then clicking on one of my previous searches (one from home) The page which opens has all UK caches in order of date not in order of distance from home. I can adjust this by clicking the distance column header but all the caches found/hidden are by Teasel. PS Great to have the site back!
  12. There was a list of Uk and Irish counties created for the Big Quest which if I recall most forum users seemed to agree on. http://rutson.co.uk/uk/counties.htm
  13. I assume this one has MEGA event status as its an annual event? From the guidelines A Mega-Event cache is similar to an Event Cache but it is much larger. In order to qualify as a Mega Event, the event cache must be attended by 500+ people. Typically, Mega Events are annual events and attract geocachers from all over the world. Does that mean Groundspeak will automatically grant MEGA status to an annual event? Swindon 2009 anyone??
  14. There is thehaggishunters series "Lest We Forget" at war memorials in the East and North although Big Rab (I think) has started a similar series in the West "We Shall Remember Then" No Motorway Mayhems on Arran then???
  15. Hee hee- Anyone else noticed the google ad showing at the top of this thread at the moment is for info in changing your name by deed poll Thats one way of doing it I guess!!!
  16. Just seen this topic - a few days ago I got the mambo logo- site is unavailable etc message - Now just getting time outs when we try to access it
  17. Had heard rumours that Decci reckoned it was too easy, so got him to publish another couple... Think you can rest easy now!
  18. Decci spent a while last night publishing al the caches All are now published, but not loggable until tommorrow (Fri 24nd) Rumors are that our esteemed reviewer has offered a bottle of grog for anyone who manages to find all of them before midnight on Sunday... Ooooops forgot bookmark list HERE
  19. This one would exclude non premium members...
  20. Sorry, but we set 35 last September as part of our contribution to the Gathering in the Glens event BUT... Perth Pathfinders managed a massive 39 in April 2006 Dont know if there are any higher??
  21. We use 2 methods 1- We have a bookmark list (non-public!!!!) with all puzzle caches we have solved with final co-ords and notes to remind us how we did it in the comments box. 2- Using GSAK, once we solve a puzzle, we edit the page co-ordinates and tick the "lock" box to stop them being overwritten
  22. Same things happening here too Phew - glad its not me! Just installed the script about 1hr ago and getting the Pilmuir map
  23. I have always uploaded the pictures onto the page then afterwards clicked on them where they appear under the cache description. They would open up in a seperate page with the address for the jpeg in the address bar. It wasnt working like that last week and took me a while of going round in circles to find the method I used above. I tried using my old method this morning and it worked fine as before!!! grrrrrr i assume this must have been some sort of bug with the new gallery view
  24. I think I know what you mean - I had problems trying to post a g.com hosted picture earlier in the week, as the old method we used no longer works. What I eventually got to work was to upload the pic as normal, then immediately the picture was uploaded (when you get the page with the picture you have uploaded) , click the picture and you will get the jpeg image on a seperate page. OR Once the picture is uploaded click the edit link underneath the picture, and again click the picture when this page opens. It should open the hhttp://img.geocaching.com/cache/8758c8d6-359c-445f-b3ef-f04d17615927.jpg style page
