  1. After some more experimenting I am finding that some descriptions are there some are not, GC1E7BE is not showing up properly on the gps for me but if I load it to gsak I can read the whole file. One thing I noticed that when I read the description on the website, it says it's a micro.....when I see it on the gps it says no cache size chosen, is it possible it's some kind of a bug? I can look the info up on my android phone but I would rather have it on the gps thanks
  2. Hello, I have attempted to use my Colorado for paperless geocaching but for some reason not having any success. I can get the gpx file on to the gps but I cannot view the descriptions or logs. I've tried both send to gps and also manually moved the file over. j

    Twitter beta

I must be missing the point on this new feature. The description reads "Groundspeak can send updates to Twitter when you post Field Notes" I don't quite understand what it's purpose is. Is anyone using it? Isn't it just as easy to directly post via a twitter client? Jim
  4. I would like to be able to put users on my watch list. I have friends and familly that geocache I would like to be able to keep tabs on what they are up to. j.

  9. I am always reading about gps and mobile phones being used in europe to play games in real time, anything like that happening here in the USA yet? http://www.wirelessgamingreview.com/articles/francetelecom092801.php jim Sommes-nous perdus encore?
  10. I would like to be able to sort the data base by direction, it would make planning easier. I would also like to be able to search for keywords in the datasheet, I tend to chase radio towers and bridges. j. Sommes-nous perdus encore?
  11. I found 4 benchmarks this morning, all placed in the same year. 3 I found on the massillon quad, the other one I did not see. Any reason why this would happen? Anyone else ever run into this? Jim Sommes-nous perdus encore?
  12. I found 4 benchmarks this morning, the 5th ky1662 is under going a major overhaul, what happens to the benchmark if they have to reomove it? Do they replace the original or set a new one or maybe not even replace it at all? Work around it? Jim Sommes-nous perdus encore?

  16. I had one of my caches destroyed over the week end. This one really made me angry. I think some of the local non geocahers ran across it by accident. They urinated in the container and also in the ziplock bag holding the log book and stripped the cache of the goodies. My total loss $5. I will never understand this type of moronic behavior! I never thought peeing in a jar as a fun thing to do. The cache was getting a fair amount of hits for a new cache....sorry I had to take it down. I guess I'll just have to make the next one hard to find. So these idiots can find something else to do to amuse themselves! j. Sommes-nous perdus encore?

  18. It would be nice to know if any other "hunters" are out stumbling around in the woods! I think the best thing might be to throw a poll up and ask.... I don't think any one channel is better than another we just have to make anyone who carrys a frs aware if we pick a channel. I pick channel 9....for no reason.... I just like the number 9! 22. I turned on my extra data fields on the map page (the ones at the bottom of the screen) One of the fields I want to use is bearing, so far it just displays nw, sw, etc. How can I make it display in degrees instead of just directions? Jim Sommes-nous perdus encore?
  23. Thanks Bushwacker that sure was a fast reply...will follw the links. Jim Sommes-nous perdus encore?
  24. I am just starting to learn how to use my compass along with my gps on geo hunts. I have my gps set up to display bearing to the cache in degrees true. I live in area where we have about 7 degrees west declination. Say I am getting a bearing off of my gps of 180 degrees to the cache.... to correctly transfer this info over to my compass so I can use it I add the 7 degrees to the 180 degrees for a magnetic bearing of 187 degrees.....is this the correct way do do this? Thanks, Jim Sommes-nous perdus encore?
