  1. Can someone link me to where you get the map please? Not that it will be very coloured in.....
  2. Thankyou- I thought it was just me thinking it was a bit unreasonable... we were on holiday in Wiltshire area and are now up towards Manchester, so returning it to its original cache isn't really an option. The best plan I can come up with is to have a look for a cache towards Manchester airport and hope that it gets moved on. When asking the owner for help I got an email saying...."Please take it to another country" That was it. All the other geocachers we have met, emailed, discussed things with on the forums have been great, but I suppose it wouldn't do for us all to be perfect.... Come to think of it- I have a 10/10/10 event lined up, perhaps I might see if someone there is going to Outer Mongolia in the next few weeks...
  3. I picked up a Tb last week whilst on holiday with no details on it, on finally logging it 2 days later it needs to go to other countries. The keyring gave no indication of this or I would have left it for the next to find, I have emailed the owner and it has to go to another country, so if anyone outside England would like me to transfer it to them could you please email me? I will pay all costs incurred. Thanks
  4. Could those of us who didn't manage to make the fashion show of the decade please have an update on what was the hottest outfit on show please?
  5. We set 8 tbs off in january and five were collected by 1 person and dropped off in a series of caches in a similar area 8 miles away, none of them were ever seen again, well at least not yet.... And one of the 3 subs got lost on the top of Pen y Ghent- as I probably would, and another got put into what we think was a cache on the edge of a rubbish tip in Germany, the security service removed that and the Tb is no more. 4 out of 11 lost in 7 months, not great, but you live and learn.
  6. Oooo we might be up for that! Can only do weekends tho.....
  7. can't promise but will try and get it moving over the weekend if no-one else gets there first x
  8. Yesterday we hit 200..........perhaps we need to walk a bit faster? Congratulations- now could you email me your phone number so you can be my PAF?
  9. I have a friend that lost an Etrex over Blackpool way- wonder if someone moved it to a cache nearer their home..........
  10. Thankyou! I knew the forum people were good but you have excelled here! I have also had an email from someone else trying to help- hopefully one day I can return the favour. Altho possibly not with an all expenses paid trip to Germany to find the missing Tb... I have one last seen on the top of Pen y Ghent in the Yorkshire Dales too if anyone fancies a stroll? Thats been at least a couple of months tho, and I have had a couple of emails about its lack of visibilty in the cache, so I mentally wrote it off. You never know... they might all turn up in Australia and then we will have some fun with the miles!
  11. Having started off the Tb race with 8 and lost 5 in the first couple of weeks I am not that surprised if this one goes too- at least its got more than the 8 miles mine did! Thankyou all for your very quick responding- I really appreciate your help. Anyone going to Germany for the weekend?.................
  12. Hidden on a tip? Stunning. Soooo.... who do I send the next mesaage to asking what they did with it? (Thankyou )
  13. One of our race Tbs appears to be in a German cache that has just been disabled GC1Y7M0 - could anyone translate what has happened for me and suggest who I need to contact to try and retrieve the TB please? I did try and use an online translation service as my german from school is a bit rusty, but it didn't make much sense ... any helpful suggestions please? Thankyou.
  14. It happens all over, its not just down south. Its very annoying but I don't think theres anything that can be done to sort it out.

  16. Oh joy. Today i got an email telling me that one of the 3 Tb subs in the race has gone from a cache down south. It was an ammo tin by the sounds of it, and now its missing... The new cacher who logged it in was gutted, as I imagine are the cache owners... Oh well, one has gone to Germany, one is at the top of Pen y Ghent and mine is currently part way up Ingleborough and 2 more are still going so not all bad.
  17. Forgive my ignorance- I have 5tbs missing in action, and logged as such- IF any of them ever re-appear, how do they get re-activated? (Optimistic post...)
  18. I tried to search for some caches nr the Humber bridge as a friend has just moved there- apparently hes really in Romania.. Or is he really trying to avoid me?............
  19. We had 5 tbs out of 8 go missing in January -I have now logged them as missing as the person who picked all 5 up has not responded to my 2nd +3rd very polite emails.... You are right, its very annoying, and I have previously done as suggested and made a note in my log saying they were missing, if the other cachers had done so we might have had more chance of tracing our missing 5....
  20. Long shot- have you checked any of their logs and see if they look like they cache with anyone else? You could then try emailing the other people? Best of luck, we lost 5 tbs and suspect its down to one person....
  21. Thankyou for being brave enough to share this, it made my night! So would you log that as a DNF?
  22. I may be tempting fate here but...today we launched the 3 tb race subs. Still no sign of the missing 5 altho I have had emails back from certain cachers offering what help they could. I have a prime suspect, but with no proof whatsoever I have no options I can think of, the first email was answered, the 2nd one has not been. So, the 3 subs are out into the world, I have split them into 3 local caches to try and prevent them all going again, but at the end of the day I now realise its a risk, and so be it. Thanks to all the cachers who took the time to read these messages and comment, I did appreciate all of them.
  23. If it was one of the 5 missing ones of the 8 in our race I would be delighted to have it dipped! To be honest I would not mind ours being dipped a couple of times- its fair mileage! Altho if you did 20-30 of them the others in the race might have something to say.....
  24. Lost in Space- yes, if I was daft enough to log the co-ordinates of something very valuable on the internet then i would be just asking for it to be taken and it would be totally my fault, I accept your point. However in my humble opinion the items were of a small amount of money and whilst I was expecting some loss I had not worked on 5 out of 8 going within a short space of time less than 10 miles from the start point. Also if they had actually travelled a bit further then I would not be quite so cross. but thankyou for your comments.
