  1. I used a bad example there, should be "nuvi 760". I see you can get around it by using quotes on each word like "nuvi" (5 char) "760" (5 char). Just thought I would mention this because so many GPS names have like 2-3 digits.
  2. Hi, something I noticed, often I want to search for various models of GPS and such but it does not permit search terms under 5 characters, which is a bit extreme.. even when using phrases such as "nuvi 1200" or nuvi* 1200* this is still too little characters thus its tough to find any information. Might help with less repeat questions if this was changed. Thanks
  3. Garmin Nuvi 760 + City Navigator. Excellent Condition, good way to paperless cache for cheap. Selling because I bought a Garmin Oregon 300 for biking. Included: Nuvi 760 GPS navigation system with the Latest 2009 City Navigator North America NT mapping data preloaded Vehicle power cable Vehicle suction cup mount USB cable Tons of features, view them here. With this wonderful walkthrough you can turn the Nuvi into a true paperless caching device (took me about 10 mins to do following the instructions) Excellent for route planning, used it to go to NorCal road trip and it was a lifesaver. Price: $150 USD Shipped
  4. Ok, so it is nothing at all like the Nuvi macro? No. The two devices load caches in entirely different manners. But I use a Garmin 60CSx and use my Nuvi as well for both getting me to the park and to store the cache page and logs. Works great! Gotcha, that cleared it up for me a bit, thanks guys
  5. This is the thing I am confused about. I just recently discovered thanks to this forum, I could add information to my nuvi so I could do paperless caching. Now that I am looking for a more outdoor friendly GPS... people say the 76CSX can't do paperless.. so does this mean you can't load a macro like with the nuvi? Or will it work just the same way? I am very confused on what people consider paperless to be! To me it is just the ability to add the geocaching information and look at it while in the field, instead of printing maps. Thats all I need! Thank you.
  6. Hum, now I am really confused, all I want is to be able to see all the information. Writing back is no big deal, I enjoy doing that manually.
  7. As a pretty new cacher, I love puzzle caches (haven't made any yet, just soved a few).. maybe you need to ask yourself why you have such a need to get those puzzle caches that annoy you so much? *Points and shouts completionist!*
  8. I am sure this has been asked before, but the search wont let me put in the words 'edge 705' Does the 705 have true paperless? All I get from the Garmin site is all the bike features. Cheers.
  9. Wow whats with that website? I don't know. What is with that website? it looks like crap! Anyways, anyone know what the deal is with Canadian topo/street maps for this unit?
  10. yea I was looking at those (Lowrance), they look pretty interesting... any word about them? As for bents, LOVE EM! Bloody addicting though. Currently Riding a Rans V-rex, actually currently selling my Sun EZ-1 and Rans Wave 20/20 and the spouse got a Catrike Road. I dont think Ill ever go back to an upright bike.
  11. Oops, I mean bicycling. I think the Oregon is probably what I am after, though Im on my own power mostly, there will be places to recharge.
  12. Hi there, doing some research on GPS, was about to buy the 76CSx but I see it may not be what I want exactly for paperless geocaching. Up till now I use a Garmin Nuvi 760 which is fantastic for car trips and casual 'caching (with the paperless help I got here heh) but now I need something with long battery life. I spent the last 5 hours and afew days before this comparing features of various offerings and honestly it seems like there is very little difference between them. Accuracy is important to me, but screen size is no big deal. My main concerns are 1) Paperless 2) Battery Life (AA batteries preferred) 3) Ability to hold a lot of caches in the memory 4) Accuracy. Thanks for any help, cheers.
  13. Oh my god, thank you, very very helpful, works perfectly on my Garmin 760.. saves tons of ink and paper... again thanks makes geocaching a lot more fun!
  14. That, of course, requires the use of GSAK. Thank you!!!
  15. Hi, I became a member primarily so I could load GPX files right to my GPS, well I tried this using easyGPS software, but it still just sends the dot(pic) and the name. What can I use to load the coordinates?
