  1. We did that cache just last month and the reason for the memory still good…. Thanks Bruce.

Now let’s see if the cachers read the listings and look at the site where the cache owner wants you to go? Which cache is hidden at this site?

  5. 2010 Techno Event 2 GC23VWR

This event has limited seating (20) for those who want to come and join us between 13:00 and 17:00 to learn more from a technology perspective. Because of the limited seating we have scheduled 3 days (1 per month) for this Techno Event. If you would like to join us, please post your attendance early for the individual events as seating is on a "first come first served" basis.

It would be beneficial for you, if you have one, to bring your own laptop / Macbook with 3G connection to be able to experiment there and then with your newfound skills and knowledge. If there are specific topics you would like us to cover and they are feasible, then we will try and accommodate them into the curriculum. Please keep an eye out on the forum for updates and discussions as to what additional topics are going to be covered.

    The purpose of the event:

    - How to use GSAK, its Stats, and some spreadsheets; - Sending data to Cell phones as well as Gps devices; - Paperless caching on the Nuvi; - And if there’s time some SQLite queries.

Refreshments will be provided during breaks in the afternoon for those attending the technology sessions.

However, should you want to come just to meet up with everybody and renew caching friendships, discover some new coins or just enjoy a sundowner, braai fires will be available from 17:00 onwards. Please bring along your own "dop & chop".

For attendance and logistical purposes please state if you will attend the BYTE or BITE when logging your attendance

The program for the next event will be finalised in the next week!!

  6. Wow!!

Our 2009 racer Travelling Beads has been stuck in Old Wagon Trail at Barton’s Folly GC1W76W for the past 4 months

We just want to Thank TangoBravo for moving it along!

  7. Thank you for everyone that attended the Techno Event!!

Firstly I would like to thank Bruce for firstly offering his home to host the event. And as if that was not enough, to then ugpgrade the facility with wired and wireless internet ports for everyone attending the event. The projector made following all the instructions in real time very easy. What a great venue for all the future technical events!!

I would also like to thank Anton (Jors) and Anton (DamhuisClan) for sharing all your knowledge with the rest of the group, I am sure it was appreciated by everyone!

We hope to see everyone at the next event!!

  8. Ok this event was attended by one cacher already!!

as helpful as the owner was I didn't want to be a bother as there was a private function going on.

  9. All ready for the event!! :P

Just a quick note for everyone attending or still wanting to attend the event. Everything is set up and ready for Saturday. You dont need a laptop to attend the event, there will be enough people with laptops with whom you can share. There is also the projector that you would be able to follow each screen shot of the relevant pages. Just make sure you bring a notepad to make some notes.

Hope to see you all there!! :D

  10. Took us some time to spot the ladder!!!!

    :D:P

But it seems like the most entertaining one was Out of the Box. At first I thought the logs were joking when the 3 Muscateers (Jors, Wormgeocash and besem - the winners on the day) mentioned a ladder that Jacques brought along. But no, very serious. Until I saw this pic and nearly fell on the floor laughing out loud :D:P:lol: ....

After seeing how high this one was when trying to climb it in the rain we decided to come back another time and to come prepared!!!!!!

  11. Ok!

On Jan 12 2010 earth experienced a "near miss" from a A 10-meter-wide asteroid called AL30. By how much did this asteroid miss earth by? Will give it to the closest 5000 km.

I dont know how far the moon is from the Earth, but apparently the asteroid was supposed to pass between the earth and the moon.

    Close enough!!

Orbital projections indicated that the object called 2010 AL30 flew by Earth at a distance of just 80,000 miles (130,000 kilometers). That's only one-third of the way from here to the moon.

    You're up Malo Mystery

  12. This might be a bit of a trick question but I hope not. All ardent rugby fans SHOULD know the answer  - I hope!

What was significant about the 1995 Rugby World Cup?

Hint - something changed in the Laws afterwards.

You are forbidden from blaming your loss in the final on "food poisoning"

    :):D:D:):):):):):laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

After 95 it was not amateur rugby anymore the new era of professional rugby.

  14. Wow Happy hunters.... that was a great run.... Well I need not worry about you on my tail anymore.... Now I need to chase you guys... But granted you are in JHB so I can expect that you will race up the ladder than me.... Well done guys... still remember Tinkerbell-GP and I racing round to find at least one cache on one of our runs without a bead in... I still took one of them and have it with me.... A momento of the cachers we were missing on every cache we did that same day... and you guys will still in double figures then...

    Once again.... well done...

Thanks very much Wayne, we really appreciate your very kind words!

Yes we have a few more caches up here in Jhb, I think we still have about 300 in a 100km radius to do. After that we'll be doing a lot of weekends away to get to caches thats too far for a days drive. We're glad that we have 8 other provinces to visit!!

    Thanks again!! :)
