  1. I normally cache i two countries; Denmark and Sweden. In Denmark, the "rule" is that it is only the first cacher who holds the cache in his hands that is allowed to claim the FTF. In Sweden, all that helps out in the search share the FTF if they all agree to do so. What is the situation in other countries? Please feel free to copy the list of countries below and add your own country. Denmark: FTFs are never shared. Sweden: FTFs can be shared if the cachers agree to share.
  2. Well, with unlimited resources you can do anyting... But the 14-countries-in-a-day trip Sydman is mentioning was actually performed for real by eight Swedish cachers (incl. myself) last Saturday! Within the same timezone. Here is the route.

  5. The Danish forum does not allow gmail-addresses. Myself, I follow the forum, but I am not registered, for that particular reason. The webmaster ElwoodB can be contacted at webmaster AT geocaching DOT dk. Welcome to Scandinavia!

    Geocaching.se

Vid halvtio-tiden idag började det bli segt på gc.se (inte på forumdelen dock). Nu 20 minuter senare kommer jag inte in på sidan alls.
  7. The picture does not have to be complicated. I guess this one would be logical...
  8. And the non-PQ alternative is much easier and quicker as a fast reference.
  9. I think the topic title say it all, but in addition (or as an alternative) to this maybe also attributes saying: "Cache description in local language of the country in question" and "Cache description in local language of the country in question with an English summary". Would be great! Thanks!
  10. The point is that even though I check those boxes and my finds no longer appear on the map, they still count toward the maximum 500 that can be displayed on a page. I WANT TO BE ABLE TO ZOOM OUT TOO A LARGER AREA AND SEE MORE OF MY UNFOUNDS ON THE MAP PAGE. No need to yell. Create a pocket query for the area you're looking in. (You don't have to tell it to run, just create the PQ.)Filter out your finds. Go back to the list of PQs and then click the "view on google map" icon right next to the "review" icon. Likewise, if you are just looking for unfound caches centered on your home location, click the "Search for nearest caches from your home coordinates (filter out finds)" link on your "My Profile" page. Be sure you only click the "filter out finds" portion of the link. Then click the "View in Google Maps" link/icon. I totally agree with applejohn that this would be good. For me, the most important thing about this is not to hide my founds and my caches, but to be able to zoom out to a larger area when you are searching for odd cache types and events (hiding traditional, multi and mystery, that also is counted in the 500 even if unticed). And of course I also agree with Castle M that it can quite easily be done with PQ (run or not), but access directly from the gc.com map would be great.
  11. I see your point, but one difference is that Alaska is a state (as in a part of a country), while the other countries we are discussing are countries, just like United States.
  12. small oaks - I have pm:ed geoaware with a suggestion of states in Denmark, Finland ans Sweden (I live in Sweden, but visit Denmark, Norway and Finland frequently - every month). Let's see what happens. As I see it, the states in our countries are not just necessary for EarthCache Master reasons, but also because it is necessary in our geographically big countries for people - both native and visitors - to be able so find a EarthCache in the area they are. In my example (living as south in Sweden you can get), all of the EarthCaches in Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, UK, Estonia and some other countries are closer to home than the one longest away in my home country. The most Northern point of Sweden is just as far away from my home as Rome, Italy, but on the other hand Copenhagen (the capital of our neighbur country Denmark) is just 20 minutes away. Or if someone would like to compare with the U.S., counted from North to South, each of the countries Norway, Finland and Sweden is about as big as from Northern North Dakota to Southern Texas.
  13. Just discovered that Russia - one of the largest countries in the world is not diveded into states...
  14. The intrepetation of the rules that catsnfish and cincol is expressing sounds reasonable. But I do not think the rule as such is good. For example United Kingdom, Spain and Germany is divided into states, while other countries of the same or larger geographical size is not (like Sweden and Poland). Either all countrie's states should count or no states. An interesting comparation is Sweden and Norway. The two countries are both very long from south to North (several thousands of kilometers, much longer than for example United Kingdom). Sweden is much wider from west to east than Norway (and also wider than United Kingdom...). Sweden has about twice as many inhabitants as Norway. Norway is divided into states at earthcache.org, but Sweden is not. Do anybody know if it is possible to draw the attention of the people of earthcache.org to this issue?
  15. Thanks TerryDad2, I will give it a try then. Ps. Great place you live. I visited Camarillo last summer, but that was before my geocaching time
  16. We just found out about EarthCaches, and we love it. We now have two EarthCaches from two different Swedish states and we also have one close to where we live (in a third Swedish state). My question is if different Swedish states also qualify for the bronze level, or is it only U.S. states? Or put differently, do I have to go to Denmark to earn bronze level? Anyone know the answer?
