This should not be necessary, regardless of whether you have upgraded on Geocaching.com or your phone's app store. Your membership status should automatically refresh to make it as easy as possible to access every cache right away after upgrading!

There is no rule requiring a specific day of the week for Mega-Events. As you have pointed out, weekends are more widely available for the most geocachers to attend. I highly recommend the Mega-Event section of our Help Center for more information if you're considering hosting one!
