  1. Postal inspectors are Law Enforcement Officers. They are sworn and carry firearms. Flunky???? My guess is no way. Since I am employed by a law enforcement agency and really do enjoy any activity that is lawfull, I feel that anything that is illegal is a NO-GO!!!!!

Not only is this illegal, it is a FEDERAL LAW!!!!!!!

    What are Postal Inspectors?

Postal Inspectors are federal law enforcement agents responsible for enforcing more than 200 federal statutes that deal with the United States Postal Service and the U.S. Mail.

What authority do Postal Inspectors have under the law?

As sworn federal law enforcement agents, Postal Inspectors have the power to serve warrants and subpoenas issued under the authority of the United States; make arrests without warrant for postal-related offenses committed in their presence; make arrests without warrants for postal-related felonies cognizable under the laws of the United States, if they have reasonable grounds to believe that the person arrested has committed or is committing such a felony; carry firearms, and make seizures of property as provided by law.

    ENOUGH SAID!!!!!!

  2. NO NO NO - Wrong answer. This guy needs to wake up and realize what he is doing goes against the whole idea of a travel bug. Email this guy and let him know no one appointed him geo police!!!!!! An example: I am leaving for L.A. friday morning and I am taking some recent TB and coin finds with me and I will placing them there. I emailed each owner and advised them of my intentions so they would know there trackables are safe and I WILL be moving them. Send me his email address, I have a few a few choice words for him!!!!

  3. Sorry for the delay. Actually this cache was at a local museum here is Ocala Florida called the Appleton Museum. There is a really neat fountain in the front. The cache, is actually behind us in some wood line in the prkg lot. The other picture, was a two stage multi. Thanks for all the nice comments!!!!!!!!

  4. I had a 60CS and came to the same conclusion. That is why I bought a 60CX and saved some money.

For me, magnetic. I always bring my compass with me and if I am having trouble with a cache, I go back to the begining, shoot an azmuth and proceed.

  5. Im kinda new to all this so bare with me. I am all set up for paperless caching now. ( haven't done paperless before) I have everything working and am ready to go. My only problem is that it seems like a 10 step process to get my info all updated and ready on my palm and gps. This is my current routine.

I download all the gpx files from the web site onto an old pc in the basement.

I load the files into the swiss army knife program. into a new database

I load the files into cachemate. ( palm m100 - serial connection)

I delete my old way points from the gps. ( eTrex Vista - serial connection )

    Load way points onto gps.

    ----

After i find a cache, i go onto the web site, and leave my log entry.

Then it starts all over again.

I delete my way points from cachemate and the gps. I delete my database from the computer. I then reload everything again.

I hope i didn't confuse everyone but i'm just wondering if there is an easier way to do this.

    Thanks

I bookmark caches I want to do - Pocket query them - From email to GSAK and PDA - GSAK TO GPS. - Ready to GO!!!!!!!!!

  6. Hello,

I did a search for newest caches in the USA. Top one was in Alabama enabled June 30 2007.

How do I get a time travel machine to be FTF? Is now May 1 2007. How do they do this?

With 1.21 gigawatts and a flux capacitor......

  7. DNF Troll Geocoins !!

Who hasn’t been out on a day of Geocaching and thought for sure some Muggle stole a cache container that was supposed to be there. You might be right, it may have been a muggle or it could have been: THE DNF TROLL.

The DNF Troll haunts around mysteriously from cache to cache and hides those caches from would be cachers, sometimes re-hiding it after you leave and sometimes taking the containers to his underground lair. You never know when he’ll strike or who he’ll torment.

Paula has captured a RARE glimpse of this nasty littler bugger in our latest Geocoin. Grab one of these Limited Number Geocoins while you can because the DNF Troll just may beat you to them. We have minted only 300 of these incredible coins and may re-mint a few more (up to 500 total) if there are not enough to go around the first time.

    Available at: DNF Troll Geocoins

The NEW Tracking Number Activation Code page is also up and running on the site, so no more searching around at different sites to activate your geocoins. The codes can be retrieved at: castlecoinsandpins.com

  8. Hello

I think it would be great if it was possible to add custom private notes to any geocache. For example if I solve some puzzle cache then I would like to note the results to the related cache for my private needs. One of the data possible to note would be GPS coordinates. These coordinates would be then used in other geocaching.com areas (privately) - eg. pocket queries, find nearby caches, they would be visible in the maps... What do you think?

You Can - Just bookmark it. It has notes section right there for that purpose.......

  9. I'll put it this way: my phone can be used as a gps...it however it only used for reading the e-books I get mailed to me for info about the caches. I use a dedicated GPS. It's just much sturdier and has some functions you don't get (like accuracy rating) from a cell phone.

A regular GPS. In the long run, you will be thankfull you have it. You are not going to want to use the cell phone on the harder caches.......

  10. What is your feeling about caches which one knows from the on set will have a short life. (i.e., likely be muggled)? What are you expectations as far as cache life (are there any statistics)? By a short life I mean within a few months. While cache is active people will be able to have some fun, so I don't see a problem, so long as it is monitored and promptly archived when gone.

I think it defeats the purpose of the whole game. The object is to be stealthy. Why buy a car if it is going to

    breakdown in a week!!!!

  11. As I was caching the other day, I stopped to take in the fresh air and look around at my surroundings taking in the beautiful day. As I started looking around I noticed something in my jeep, and what I saw made me laugh. I had my GPS V which is mounted on my dash, I was caching using my GPSMAP 60C on my passenger seat all while listening to Sirius satellite radio. I realized at that point I may have a satellite addiction. Can anyone else relate???

what? your jeep doesnt have onstar?

    LOL, not yet!!!!!!
