  1. Looks like that one is Genoist, and not me. The date on the datasheet matches the date on the GC page. I was hoping it was me...my GSAK database and my GC account are one BM off...and I can't find it.
  2. A lot of people in Arkansas also like to log Azimuths as the BM as well. Found that out when I was hunting Nebo earlier this month.
  3. holo, what's the PID on the JMA unknown mark? Remember I was going to change my initials to that letter set since the county where Geonist has done all of his marks is somewhere I would never go. I just wanted to see if that was one of mine.
  4. no souvenir? I thought it had been given there was going to be one for weeks now. I mean, GS has been promoting it for weeks now.
  5. oooh, I want a christmas one. After reading all of the chaos with pricing, I think I'm glad that I didn't try to make my first coin purchase part of a large multi event. But I STILL want to get a coin like I have the last couple of years. There's a event somewhat near me this time, but it's a Wednesday and I teach school and this is the week right before finals. I won't be going anywhere. that day.
  6. hmm, I haven't done a mission in a while. Must ponder if I want to do just one or two (one for my daughter)
  7. It means that if your group cannot afford or need the "minimum quantity" then Geoswag will buy the difference & sell them on their site to the general public. For example: the minimum quantity is 75 coins. If you or your group can only afford 50 coins - or only need 50 - then you will pay for the 50 you want/need and Geoswag will pay for the other 25 coins. CF30 Wait, this had always been an option? Well dang, that would have resolved a ton of the finanical issues I had always had about trying to get one of these events put together the last three years. I wish that it had been made more clear to those of use who haven't made a coin before... we don't know all those nice tricks.
  8. [issue] I submitted an older field note yesterday after i had sent finish and save (but not submit), and never got around to logging it until tonight. I had 15 copies of that field note when I logged in tonight. The two field notes that I submitted after I found them only had one copy of each for me to double check for typos before submitting.
  9. I love me a free app. Looks like I have a new thing to place in my Geocaching folder on my iphone. Thanks!
  10. I've heard a tale of a person who put scratch off tickets in his caches for the FTF to find, and one of them gave a pretty nice prize when it was scratched off.
  11. holo. sending you a forum message as the emails I keep sending you through the geocaching profile link aren't getting to you. I think I may be those unidentified JA's.
  12. ok, there apparently is a disconnect of the Earthcache review team on this issue. So Geoaware, PLEASE note this and let your reviewers know. Recently a friend of mine worked with me and the local science center to build an earthcache that did ask that you at one point go inside the center to look at example of the science concept. However, the cache was denied because "General indoor displays are not permitted as the subject of an Earthcache." Again, I quote the FAQ: I am working with my friend on crafting the appeal, but since this is now the third earthcache that has been denied that was solely on the fact that it was indoors that I know of because it was posted on this thread, there is obviously a disconnect between this rule change and the understanding of the reviewers. it's getting sort of hard to help people who want to make an earthcache make one with the new rules when the reviewers aren't following the FAQ. Just to be clear, I am posting this to bring awareness to Geoaware of this issue. It's not my cache, so I don't have a dog in this fight, but this is becoming a consistent pattern.
  13. No. They aren't in the main database. Many of them have been made into waymarks though.
  14. Heh. I will have been on contract since August 8th, with kids arriving on August 20th.
  15. Sigh, I really wish I could go to this, but as it's sort of far from Arkansas, and well, I'm a school teacher, I can't make it. You know...Arkansas IS called the Natural State...maybe the next event can be down here?
  16. ok, now I think this might actually bring up a serious question since there are now two cases of EC's being designed to work inside museums being shot down because they are in a museum, even though the Quote post above allows them. Now I understand there may be specific issues that killed them, but if the only issue is that it's in a museum...doesn't that seem to go against what is now quoted as in the Earthcache FAQ?
  17. There's no science in this design? All my knowledge for this cointest is worthless! Neat coin design however. Can't wait to see the glass effects.
  18. GC34HN9 is the start of a nice series that uses a special tool for each one. Nice that all of the tools are tied to a large tool box for you to take with you along the way...
  19. Hmm, no, apparently your note never got through to me. ok, will resend.
  20. I'm not surprised at the vagueness from GS. This is of course the company that decided that when a coin is sold, the new owner can delete LEGITIMATE Discovered or moved logs. Why they can't shunt them all into an archived page is beyond me is someone wants a 'clean' coin history.
  21. I am stunned. Condolences and prayers.
  22. We got a winner right here!
  23. Thanks again as always. Did you get my note about my initials? Also looks like they got my BM's from my return from GWX already in the sheets sometime this last week. Pretty impressive turnaround.
  24. ok, Groundspeak, look I understand that you are trying to make geocaching more social. I get it. It's being shoved everywhere that it can. And that's not a bad thing. But you have to realize that not everyone is as socially connected as the next person. but for the love of all things holy, can we PLEASE add an option to show or hide these widgets when you add them in on our settings/profile/account page, like was done with the 'recently viewed caches' widget? If you just did that, when you added a new feature, if people loved it, AWESOME! they'd use it. If they didn't want or weren't able to use it, then they could turn it off. Problem solved. That being said, I'm going to probably GM this one off. I'd prefer to just turn it off in my settings as I don't want every cache I log in my twitter, and I don't have facebook, so all that is doing is sucking down wasted bandwidth that could be used for someone else.
