  1. I nominate Geek-Qualizer. (GQ) As stated by Snoogan 's: He would never dream of tooting his own horn, but GQ has really been the driving force keeping the Houston Area geocachers together since our own "Mom & Pop" (usmorrows) of our little geocaching famdamily have been less active due to real life challenges. He built and runs HGCS.org. He hosts and cohosts events. Including a near Mega-Event, the Texas Challenge 2007. He mods for texasgeocaching.com. He is an all around promoter of geocaching and positive leader in our local community, having recently gotten some excellent local media coverage for our sport. He bends over backward to welcome new geocachers and visitors to our area. ----------------------------------------------------------------- I might add to Snoogan's list. He goes to as many GC events as he can, Sometimes more than 1 in a day. He has, not that I know of, ever turned down computer, gps assistance to another cacher. He volunteers his expertise and knowlege of geocaching at the drop of a hat. He invites everyone to participate in HGCS.org. He is personable, easy going, and a friend to everyone. He has a great dog..."Breeze". I would not go so far to say "to know him, is to love him", but I am happy to say that I consider him a good friend, good caching partner, and because of him, my interest in caching has been fueled. 2. Looking for Cache Owner Participants to hide and maintain a micro and verify the finders. Looking for a cacher in California and also one in Hawaii. If interested, please private message me with your Geocaching Name and I will contact you back through Geocaching.com.
  3. Okay, thanks to both of you for your replies. Clyde, as stated in my question...it was something I was overlooking. Nightpilot, that is just about what was happening. I have it all straightened out. My GSAK, my cachemate, and my PDA are all communicating properly with each other. Thanks again.
  4. Okay, I am about at my wits end. I have used and exported GPX files to my PDA and GPS in the past. Trying to export a new folder of caches...I can't get the GSAK to export more than (1) file from that folder even though there are maybe (10) files in the folder. SO WHAT AM I DOING WRONG???? I am sure it is something I am overlooking, but I don't know what it is. And I am probably going to be very embarassed when I find out that it is something really stupid. I am on the threshold of becoming(?) a blubbering idiot. Dobbye
  5. I used to use DEET. But I had a plastic cabinet that I set a can of DEET insect repellant on and the cabinet now has rings where the can was. Much like the aforementions swiss army knife. So I searched the web and came up with a recipe that I use and I like. A mixture of 50% Avon Skin So Soft BATH OIL and 50% rubbing alcohol. I tried it, it works for me. kibnbitspa
  6. Switchdoc Yes, I would like to cachewith you all. However, my emails to you are being returned as spam. If you are still interested please email me your phone number or other contact information. As for Tahosa, I am trying to decide when I can get up to his area. He is still on my list of possibilities, I just haven't contacted him yet, though I am sure he will know I am considereing a trip to his abode if he reads this post. kibnbitspa
  7. I am staying in Westminster for a month or so. Would like to hook up with some geocachers in the area that would like to spend a day or so geocaching with me. I am fairly new at this and as well as hoping for company while geocaching, hoping also to pick brains. I am retired, see profile, and available most everyday. kibnbitspa
