  1. I've carried my Magellan on my hiking stick for years. It works well for me.
  2. We have in our area, people who want to do it all as far as cache hides and take up good and quality areas that others would enjoy placing a nice ,well desgned and placed cache. But others take the lose, and risk abject boredom for this . The benifit for these people is undoughtably the numbers game amoungst their few friends. It is my belief that if numbers are needed for caches in their personal areas, then these people should offer their help with the production and assist in the placement with others after a certain number of caches are placed by these over achievers. There for , not only bringing the quality of the caches up to a higher degree, but the maintenance will be spread amoungst a greater number of people, which would give a longer life to a well designed cache. There should, in my way of thinking , be a reward of a symbol placed or a number given for the people that lend assistance to others, old and new members, so that not only does our cache base become stronger, but our people base becomes stronger as well. This is where the numbers belong. I don,t think we need more rules to make our caching experience memorable. Just a better understanding of where our strengths lay.
  3. I always wear cammo of some nature when in the out of doors . It's the way that I was brought up , and it is none offensive to the surroundings. You'll see a lot more of nature if you fit in and don't stand out. The more you see the more you learn.
  4. As for being polite, sure it's nice to be polite. But as for the potential cache looters, they don't seem to speek the language. And yes, you have to concider the the people that understand what fair trade really means. So to keep things balanced , you in my opinion have to shave alittle off both sides. To say " Trade Up - Trade Equal - Or Don't Trade" May be offensive to the ones who understand the meaning of fair trade, but only because it was mentioned. As for the none players, or looters, they will also find it offensive for the fact that you have comunicated that you have no desire for that kind of activity at your cache. I agree also that the "true geocacher" will give equal or more for a well thought out and placed cache. and he or she will not pass this cache by, where as a looter has nothing to give , so why make the effort. Like attracts Like (good for good ,bad for bad ) I feel that it aplies here.
