I'm having trouble getting an activation code for a coin I traded for. Apparently the cacher who produced the coin is some kinda control freak. The sleave indicated the code could be retreived at one of the sights that provide that service, however the coin is no longer listed there. I contacted the sight and they said the maker of the coin removed them from the sight and would provide them himself. I've emailed the cachers with no response. In searching the sight it appears others have had similar problems. Is there some other way I can get this activation code?

While I aggree that charity auctions do not give a realistic picture of a coin's value, I couldn't disagree more that it is not generally a fair arbiter of pricing on coins. Particularly since the larger number of coins have become available, the Ebay market has become very efficient. Much fewer wild swings. Given a sufficient number of completed auctions to compare, It is a very good indicator of a coin's value relative to other coins. I disagree with this too. Ebay is not a fair pricing tool. The seller wins all the time. Do you think it is fair to pay eight dollars for a coin and sell it between eighteen and twenty-six? The only thing Ebay is good for is driving the prices sky high. I know many people that purchase extra coins just so they can sell them at a higher price and that profit funds their next coin purchase. A FAIR price is what YOU paid for it! That is economics at work. Ebay does absolutely nothing to "drive" prices up OR down. It simply provides a market where the actual value of goods can be realized by offering them to the the highest bidder. What could possibly be more fair? Artificially restricting prices? Then we'd have threads of people whining that they couldn't get any of the coins coming out (remember those days?) Yes, people purchase extra cons to sell them on Ebay. This has encouraged people to mint more coins to meet that demand. Ebay only helped to send the signal that the demand was already there. It didn't create the demand. If you've been watching prices on Ebay you'd see that many coins are now selling for LESS than the initial price. This also sends signals to the market about what coins people want. Freedom, liberty and the free market work. If we only let it.
