  1. A correct and properly explained solution landed in my Inbox whilst I was sleeping - unfortunately it came from entirely the wrong continent to enable a find - I think the OP here, Mazdaroy, did collaborate on this solution, so hopefully he can find the actual cache and not only claim FTF but clear his head of all thoughts of this puzzle! Time to devise another one then!
  2. For what it's worth, I'm the CO for this one! I'm quite surprised that this still hasn't been solved - from the emails etc. that I've received there are a few who are on the right track and one in particular who is really close to the solution. I do want to see it solved - hence the various updated hints and clues over the past year but I don't want to hand it to anyone on a plate either. Nirad's advice is probably the most useful here..... sort of.....
  3. Also worth posting up on http://forums.geocachingireland.com/ For more local advice.
  4. Right, finding the code took 3 clicks from the competition home page.... Click on "Participating Stores" at the top of the page Click on "Fitness Footwear" second one down in the "Online Stores" list Click on any Merrell shoe listing and the code is below the shoe info..... Or you could just go to the retailer and attempt to explain to them what you want......
  5. I know we're already here but I suppose we'd be +4 = 58 Anyone collect Tesco Clubcard vouchers? They can be exchanged for Ferry vouchers at 4x face value - can definitely help cut the cost of a trip - we've been over twice this year and it hasn't cost us a penny! I also know from a few Mini car club events that Stenaline will sometimes negotiate discounts for big group bookings.
  6. Day one isn't necessarily about the numbers of caches, or about them being drive bys. We have a long term goal of getting a cache in every county in the UK and Ireland, so number of counties is more important than number of caches on this trip. If you do a tour of Lough Neagh roughly following National Cycle route 94 you can get 5 of the counties with appx. 100 miles of driving, and plenty of caches as well! It would just leave Fermanagh.
