  1. I fully agree with ClayJar…………………….JOE
  2. Very few things in life are free, it’s takes money to produce just about anything even on the web. Even if it is a good job for a computer to do, its has to have someone that’s likes to eat, buy gas and just plain to survive to oversee the extra operations and servers, bandwidth and the other stuff I know nothing about. On the other hand I do know what I like, and usually the best way to get what you want is to pay for it. I don’t ever expect anything for free, and if you think about it you don’t either. I am ready to pay for the services, and will gladly pay up to the coat of a new gps’r for it each year. That’s just 27 cents per day for the best sport in the world………..JOE
  3. Agree with BrianSnat am I getting soft…………….JOE
  4. The facts are: I sat in the back seat, Lynn the wife and main force in caching drove, Patty Yeager rode in the back with me and Lucy , Lynn’s daughter rode shot gun in the front seat. The caches were all on the north side of town. When the van would stop they would take off running as fast a they could go to see who got to the cache first, I only got out of the van a few times. If you don’t think this can be done ( 115 in a very long and fun day ) come to Nashville and I will ride in the bask seat with you ( Brian - Team A.I. gets to ride in the trunk ), but until them believe what I am telling you. This was not my first rodeo , I did two other runs with other cachers getting it down pat, 58 , and 75 in one day. Robert Lipe cooked all our dada for us and made us fly, with no time wasted. JOE
  5. I lost a ten dollar bill in a cache somewhere if anyone finds it please send it to me……..JOE Heeeeeeeeee Heeeeeeeee
  6. Please stay in the sport, I have been hammered many times by the approvers, but in the end I could see where they were right. With that said, I have more caches not approved and archived by the admin than most cachers have hidden that’s what makes the sport so much fun for me. I remember one time in the early days when one of my caches was not approved, and I ask why ,the admin told me , them I ask for the rules and was told “ you know there are no rules Joe” Now we have rules and for the betterment and growth of the sport I think now that they are indeed needed., because there are cachers like me that always skirt the edge and boundaries and go overboard with some new things we want to try. So stay in, and have fun…………………….. JOE “ OK Administrators Did I Suck Up Enough, Please Approve My Next Cache Its Out There”
  7. It does not look like ya want anyone to come from out of town its to far in the middle of the week, maybe next time you will do it on a weekend………..JOE
  8. WE are all going to miss him a great deal, he is also a great cook...............JOE TEXAS be proud hes comming there
  9. WEIRD, naw what’s weird I do work at a car wash, because I am flat broke, and stole the 1974 Ford Maverick to sell in order to buy some AA batteries. mtn-man lived at the grand estate ,and let you borrow his extra hummer that geocaching.com gives him to check on all the caches in GA with. Then he deleted all my finds and caches for being evil …..JOE Heeeeeeee Heeeeeee
  10. worldtraveler your not a renegade, what you are I don’t know but do you think it helps us while we are in talks with the park folks, and other agencies I don’t think so. The people, group, or agency that controls the land have the authority for cache placement When the talks began I asked for other geocachers across the state that wanted to help with this task to please contact me, quote ,at least one from each end of the state, funny thing but I never heard a word from you or anyone else. What we don’t need now is someone being negative while the process is on going. Geocaching.com is honoring a request from the state of Tennessee and from us while the talks are going on and I commend them for it and if you do not agree with it I am sorry for you I do appreciate you effort in helping find out where all the caches are. I know you will want the last word on this matter, just remember what you say may effect every geocacher in this great state of ours. They are looking at the forums to …………JOE
  11. I have been watching this thread dealing with vacation and virtual caches for a few days and biting my tongue, but here is my 2 cents worth. I think that a cacher should be able to do a maintenance check within one week of a no find or other problems anything else is very disrespectful of your fellow cacher that hunted it. I can check on everyone of mine except three ( and another cacher looks after those for me ) caches either going to work or on the way home less than 20 miles. I try to get to each one after a no find in 48 hours. Virtuals , I have about 30 and half of those are lame but that’s another thread, for someone to say they do not need to be maintained is just stupid. Three of my Virtuals have changed drastically and had to have new verification questions and coords. …………………… JOE
  12. That was way Tooooooooooooooo COOL.............JOE
  13. No there is not, but you can come to our picnic on Sun and see how we did ours. Return Home and start one there…………..JOE http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=905ae642-002f-4462-b41c-64fa2ca25f4a
  14. Sure am glad I don’t have there jobs it’s thankless and someone is always *****ing about something they think they can do better, lighten up ya’ll ………………..JOE
  15. That are all real pretty but they take soooooooooo long for the page to load on a dial up connection. ……………. JOE
  16. Gee Wizzzzzzzzz and I thought this web site and forum was for people that hunted, geocaches, benchmarks, and played with a few travel bugs. When did it become anything else . If you are looking for creditably in the forums then participate in the sport. JOE

  18. Kerry is this why you are a sock puppet you just want to bash everyone else's option in hope they will think you know what you are talking about. Goooooooooo Away …………… JOE
  19. Kerry go over and play in the other forums with the other sock puppets where you are welcomed. We don’t need your type here. You said just facts and the fact is your are a sock puppet and you are the one with the bull shxx Goooooooooo Away …………… JOE Do you think anyone cares what you say ???
  20. Kerry if you had even one find, one hide, one benchmark find or even a travel bug I would “splane” it to you but all you have is forums post to me that means you get the same back a big 0.……………JOE
  21. Woooooooooooooo Hoooooooooooo The Murfreesboro TN Parks and Recreation Department now allows geocaching by permit ONLY. Contact Angela Holladay 615-217-3017 for the permit, rules, and procedures. JOE
  22. I spoke with them last week and still have a warm and fussy feeling that everything will be OK. The permit will be a cross between the Nashville Parks permit and the new one from AK. They are writing the permit not only for geocaching but other actives as well this is one of the reasons it will be a while before its completed. The moratorium on placing any new caches on state property or in state parks or natural areas will stay in effect until then, even virtuals……………. JOE As far as how long it will take, no offence meant, it will be when they are sure that and the I and T are dotted and crossed.
  23. (1) I not sure I even know why but I have a problem with someone hiding a cache with no finds, something is just plain wrong with that. (2) If they look like a commercial cache Smell like a commercial caches Advertise like a commercial caches Link like a commercial caches Dam it’s must be a commercial caches (3) But the third one "(Mopar is) good to have around and kick. Like an ugly puppy" - Jeremy I agree fully Heeeeeee Heeeeeeee …………….JOE
  24. I would like to come but, a four hour trip on Sun night after a meeting then the drive back to Nashville is a little much for a old man that has to be at work Monday morning. Sat or Sun lunch may get a few people a little father away to attend. I would like to see all the good folks I met there last year ………….JOE
