  1. I was paying before there any services, or perks, but will offer to pay much more for better ones than we have now. This is the Coooooolest site in the world and am glad to be able to support it …………. JOE
  2. Sbell111 said: Then I got to the incredibly rude posts of JoGPS and :In comparison, almost every post by JoGPS has been an angry attack on all those who disagree with him. Bah! Steve I have invited you to dinner every month for the last six months and you have not changed a bit always trying to do something sneaky and pop good ole Joe on the forums and I have let you get away with it wishing we could get together and work things out, but I can tell this is not what you want so bring it on big boy take your best shot…….. JOE
  3. This is great, the only difference between me and a slacker is that I paid 30 bucks, you are so right and have had 30 buck worth of fun in this thread alone. I will ask straight up, are you having 30 bucks worth of fun geocaching or not and if you are why not support this site. Yes there are other ways to support geocaching like hiding caches finding caches. Then you could but a T-Shirt or to but that puts very little money where it needs to go. The 30 bucks is show of respect, and support for a sport that you love and appreciate all that that goes on behind the scenes If you don’t like the sport, stop playing but if you do it just the plain right thing to do to…………. JOE Back on topic, a member only event now that sounds like something cool to try.
  4. It seems only “slackers” don’t get the point. ………..JOE Back on topic, think I will go hide more MOC caches
  5. Part of what I pay in being a charter member goes to off set the “slackers” that do not and that gives me the right to complain. Think about for a minute if everyone paid, the money would be flowing in to buy bigger and faster severs, there would be more funding for site enhancements. Just about every Sunday when the site is soooooo slow, it gets me to thinking that if all the slackers paid their way all of this could be running so much faster. And to keep this on topic “I Love MOC” ………….. JOE
  6. I have 20 or so members only caches and they will stay that way forever, why , because that is a perk to someone who supports the site like I do, and we are playing the same game…………… JOE If you don’t like this pay up or shut up just stop complaining
  7. It does not really mater where the money goes its if you are having 30 bucks worth of fun a year. It has nothing to do with when the employees of Groundspeak are in line at the super market and get ready to pay. Lets see last week we had sawdust and crackers do you thing we came afford spam this week. But honey they want take free loafers as money well it’s back to the sawdust. Like any business there are expenses, and god forbid that someone make a profit. I would not post anything about expenses in the forums, it does mater what ever is said will get nic-picked to death. If you are not having fun don’t do it. I never have gotten the part that a lot of folks say that they can’t afford the 30 bucks a year but yet they pay for other things connected with this sport and with out this site they could not do that. Those that say they will never become a paying member because it against there principles. It only means that those of us that are paying members are paying your way, “slacker” As always pay up or shut up ……………… JOE
  8. GatorBruce I think if you look at you stats you will see where the micros are coming from you have hidden 11 and 8 of them are micros, where is the problem anyway. I like em , but the only way to change this is for everyone to hide more regular cache. ……….. JOE This is not a flame
  9. Most geocaching clubs when contacted by a approver or someone from Groundspeak will pick up geo-litter The Middle Tennessee Geocaching Club has done this several times for state and local parks where permits were not taken out or vacation caches with no maintenance or abandoned caches. We try to do what we can as a group. ………. JOE
  10. There are several nude beaches now with caches on them for a small donation to my paypal account, I would gladly sent you the GC# and they are rated about right, and of course you can wear your geo-hunting gear but then you will stand out to the muggies and the cache may not last. Heee Heee …………. JOE fly46 said: ARGH Will you people frigging quit posting links to members only caches! That’s easy pay up or shut up, aren’t you having 30 bucks worth of fun here on the forums
  11. This was Toooooooo COOL, Thanks I never knew that Co Admin, had four Messages from JeepCachr , CO Admin, Sparky-Watts, and Mopar dating back to Dec 2003 two were nice ones, one was giving me a warning and the other I will have to see why I pissed him off…………… JOE
  12. The ZIP thing is pretty cool, by playing with it on a map you can do a cache that when you type in a zip it said your cache is here, try it zip 37219 ………. JOE 37219 the center of Nashville, TN
  13. I have intentionally overrated the difficulty of a cache but never under rated one, if you ask why , its because I can , just to see who does not hunt it and complain with “ that’s to hard for me to do“ or “those take to long“ ………… JOE
  14. This is a very good question, we here in Middle TN take this very seriously to the point of at the Geo-Woodstock event here at a local large park there were eleven caches placed for the poker run where there had been one at each location over a year earlier. While placing the eleven caches for the poker run we took pictures to make sure that the areas had indeed recovered from the previous placement of caches of a year earlier and they all had. We took pictures while picking up the caches, ( caches were only out for 24 hours ) the afternoon of the poker run after there was a stampede of geocachers at least 100 in one day in and out of each cache location. Man the areas looked messed up bad. 30 days later ( one weeks ago ) we went in for yet another round of pictures, let me tell how surprises we were, everything looked just like it had before. It was a win win situation for the parks and geocachers to be able to prove even after something like this the environment would have a full recovery. I am not saying that all areas turn out this way, if you are careful in placement it can be controlled …………….. JOE
  15. Outstanding, way to go Lynn................... JOE
  16. Thanks kayaker22589 , but sbell111 and I would not make good moderators. I do think that Monkeybrad, and Robert Lipe would be excellent at it……………. JOE
  17. I would like to thanks everyone for there post and suggestions, there is a lot to be said about the Jacksonville folks willing to take on an event of this size. I am working behind the scenes with others that have not posted to the forums about different things we cannot even discuss at this point. A decision will be made in about two weeks as the place to hold the event and the date will follow that announcement, after the parties involved come to am agreement of sorts. I will always be involved in Geo-Woodstock in one way or the other, I started the event , and if some of you don’t like that, then start your own, if you find that Elitist sorry, a lot of hard work by myself and others have that made it what it is today. Will keep everyone updated …………….. JOE

  20. GC1416 Any Benchmark /Cache can be tastefully done without hurting anything We happen to have the right prefix here in Nashville This would be a no-brainer for Ya‘ll, and I tried to do a benchmark as a virtual and it was not approved but using the numbers off of one in a multistage that did work……… JOE PLEASE DO NOT POST THIS ON THE OTHER FORUMS FOLKS FROM MY AREA READ THOSE
  21. I have several that are John Deere Green and Yellow, but this is my favorite …. JOE
  22. Actuality Tennessee has two of these cache the other one you can only log if you have less than a 1000 caches found unless you hide three hard caches, one kind of equals out the other, unless you hunt and don’t hide ………………JOE Twisted
  23. way to go dude.............. JOE
  24. Elitist Or Supportist , well guess am a little of both, we hide MOC for lots of reasons, the main one is because I can. If you don’t like it sorry …………… JOE
