  1. RK, I have hitched my wagon to your train and ready for Feb 1st thru the 7th Have notice a lot of posters have said “ BUT WHO’S GOING TO ANSWER ALL THOSE QUESTION” Think you will be pleasantly surprised, wait and see, there are a lot of very knowledgeable folks out there lurking ……………. JOE
  2. I will ride in you wagon, but try to get a week everyone would agree to………. JOE
  3. I am very fortunate to have a brother in the highway construction industry all of his life. To make along story short after explaining to him about benchmarking Xmas before last he showed me a bucket full of them, the they had removed over the years for road improvements. He had simply collected them over the years. The engineers, and surveyors on the job site never knew what to do with them either so he kept them. A lot of them were local, or state marks not in the NGS data base or on Geocaching.com list. I have gone to the geocaching.com site and reported them as destroyed .for those that he has. He has no plans to turn loose of any of them he can remember why each one was removed, and yes he likes the history to. It does happen , whether legal or not who knows state surveyors were overseeing each job site ……………. JOE
  4. One in our area placed inside the Nature Center of our largest Park in the area 2600 acres …………. JOE Cache
  5. I have found a few benchmarks and a few caches along the way, even did a quad for National Map Corp., but its still a game. ITS STILL A GAME Will have to agree with some of the above posters that some folks will get turned off even thinking they should be up dating to the NGS or belittled if they don‘t, not me ,it’s a game. We are not trained at finding or logging benchmarks ( well most of us ) If the NGS thinks we are doing a great job let them come to this web site and retrieve the information for their site. How about the NGS setting up another web site ( or making theirs as easy as this one ) for those that want to update and give some instruction on how to it, but this site is where I come to play games, if I wanted another non paying job, would get one. This is a game leave it that way here ……………… JOE
  6. Sorry, but I don’t see a problem, but then again I had one riding around under my truck seat for a year, if my son had not totaled it, proudly would have never noticed……………… JOE
  7. To me any snake is deadly, shoot just trying to run from it can get you dead, have run into trees and all sorts of stuff Can you tell I don’t like snakes …………. JOE
  8. I am glad to call both Lucy, Lynn and Keven and the rest of the Coopers my “BUDDYS” not many people get this from me. Its time to let this die down here in the forums and let family matters take its on course of time, they need it with out this. Would like to thank all for the support for them …………. JOE
  9. I agree with RK on this and will add “SLACKER” to the reason but not being a premium member…………. JOE
  10. I don’t normally leave a first finder prize, but I hid this cache last week, and may start doing it more often, will see how this one turns out. The only other time was three years ago and left a GPS ……… JOE HERE
  11. My signature item is the original CITO tote about 4 ½ tall and 1 ½ around with a trash bag inside been using it for about 2 1/2 years now. With permission from Groundspeak for use of the logo. Having them done in 500 quantity they run about 85 cents a piece after the initial art work was done on the first run. Its soooooo cool to be out of town caching and finding one that a fellow cacher has made a cache container out of it, they are water tight with the O-ring ………… JOE
  12. I fully agree with VisionQuest220 ………… JOE
  13. As the members of the TV show the “A” Team used to say , I love it when a plan comes together Heee Heee …………… JOE
  14. Monkeybrad is very sincere about what is trying to do, but where are all the folks that get off on bashing the caches in Nashville not a single one of you have come forward to make a list of caches that are lame. To say all light pole caches are lame is ridiculous, I have two, one you have to bushwhack to and the other one you will need special talents to retrieve the magnet key holder. What say you, are you going to be the judge as to what’s lame ……….. JOE
  15. Several folks have said get rid of the lame caches, that sounds cool, but how do you do that, who would judge? What facts would you look at? Read the logs to see if no one is having fun finding them, or see where they were placed, don’t think so. These three cache I have posted them before for viewing and will again and you tell me which one is lame, the one that has been found the most or the least, the one with the most finds had more people having fun the way they wanted to, not by the way you will judge them. If you want all lame caches gone clean up your on area and them come back and tell us there are no lame caches in your area. SD said: Leaving the lame caches in places helps ruin the sport OK , so SD get them all of them out of MS first because they are lame ones we have found a few of them there. The caches that have been dubbed lame here is this thread are the most found caches in the area, why “THEY ARE FUN” Take these three caches for instance ,all placed within days of each other a year ago, and were there during GW2 Amongst The Holly by AbbysGrammy (GCHBQQ) micro, found 123 times 4 feet from the car GCHBQQ Chickasaw by JoGPS (GCHBA6) regular, found 33 times is 150 feet from the car GCHBA6 Beaver Pond by moundbil (GCHBBQ small, found 13 times four mile round trip walking on nice flat trail in downtown Nashville GCHBBQ Looks like more folks had fun at the one with the most finds not the one with the least, guess I should archive mine, it must be lame hardly anyone visits it anymore ….. JOE
  16. In most major cities these can be found at map shops, in Nashville TN, its Map Sales and Service on Lebanon Road, they are about eights buck a piece, hope this helps……JOE
  17. I prefer to be called either kilocacher or powercacher, but have been called quite a few names. and agree with what the little green guy said …………… JOE
  18. People find caches that they like to find People hide caches like they want to find People chouse which caches to find There is nothing wrong with the caches in Nashville, ( we have a lot of all kinds ) but the people are going to find the caches they like, regardless what kind are out there. The caches that have been dubbed lame here is this thread are the most found caches in the area, why “THEY ARE FUN” Take these three caches for instance ,all placed within days of each other a year ago, and were there during GW2 Amongst The Holly by AbbysGrammy (GCHBQQ) micro, found 123 times 4 feet from the car GCHBQQ Chickasaw by JoGPS (GCHBA6) regular, found 33 times is 150 feet from the car GCHBA6 Beaver Pond by moundbil (GCHBBQ small, found 13 times four mile round trip walking on nice flat trail in downtown Nashville GCHBBQ We welcome all to the area with open arms to have “FUN” if you do not want to have “FUN” don’t come. That’s like eating all of the cherry pie to the point of popping and then saying that pie was not fit to eat. AS far as I am concerned I am just ducky swimming around in the big pond of life and having a blast ………………… JOE
