  1. I didn't say that, I said "most people here" And I will add "Garmin would agree with me".
  2. No, it is the first tume you are right (probably)
  3. I looked at the MapSource 6.2 and it appears that categories don't have names, which makes them pretty much useless in GPS. Then despite "Honest Pleasure" belief "categories" do not make "file system" they simply add additional field/fields to waypoint database. And I think most of the people here will be against "file system" organization of waypoints.
  4. As far as I know it doesn't export display but you can always use program running on PC instead - nRoute for example. Could you use the 60/76 unit as an antenna for laptop-based GPS software? My dad has a boat and I'd like to take advantage of the table in the galley and use a laptop. It's not a critical feature. Yes, any GPS with computer interface can be used for that.
  5. http://www.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=209 1. What you wrote have nothing to do with your original claim. 2. My 60CS have had "category" in search from the begining. 3. Quest is more recent unit then 60C/CS 76C/CS
  6. What exactly does it prove ? As I said - this feature is more recent then these two units, therefore you are wrong.
  7. BTW: Quest which supposedly have this feauture came out AFTER 60C/CS. Wouldn't be surprised if that feature in MapSource appeared at the same time too. Just cheked, only 6.1 and after have "Waypoint Categories"
  8. I see, that moron you were talking about is you. I must agree it is so zen
  9. Dude, you said you returned the unit. I don't really understand your attitude, nobody does.
  10. Well, They (60C/CS 76C/CS) do have that (Waypoint Categories) feature. Sorry if I blew your anger towards Garmin
  11. height 12.4 cm 15.7 cm (with Antena) width 5.8 cm
  12. To test barometric altimeter you need only few feets of elevation, it is very sensitive.
  13. That is true, I read it a little bit when I got my first GPS (Vista) in 2001. 60CS manual I have not even opened
  14. "20HRs with Li-Ion Battery, 30HRs when working with Solar Battery" Does it mean it cannot run exclusively on Solar ?
  15. You allways wait untill it gets lock ? I never wait and never had a problem and shouldn't be any. I think it is defective unit. I agree ... but how can it draw a map until it knows where it is at. I was only refering to the initial initialization of the unit ...i.e. New Location. It uses last known location. In case of first turn on it is Garmin office I got impression that you turn unit on and then wait for the lock before doing anything.
  16. 2. You really have only two options: CitySelect MetroGuide 4 I recomend CitySelect 3. Related to GPS unit.

  19. 60C/CS and 76C/CS have the same firmware. I am not sure if firmware is in the same flash chip as maps, even if it is I suggested to take chip from 76C/CS and put it into 60C/CS.
