  1. You can Remove them all: Main Menu Find Recent Finds Press the "Menu button" Select "Remove All" Select "Yes" ' but if i REMOVE ALL, does it remove them from my geocaching section as well. they are in the RECENT FINDS section because i drove by and was close, but never actually FOUND them or marked them as FOUND? It removes them from the Recent Finds list. Not out of the Waypoints, Geocaches, your computer or off the internet, just the Recent Finds list. They are there because they were selected in a find or had the waypoint listed, driving by them or being close to them never puts them in the list. thanks. i did not know that. i thought if i was in the vicinity of them, they went in there. good to know.

  3. I pretty sure that you just have to turn on the basemap again. Let's see if I remember how to do it without digging out my GPS. - Switch to map screen. - Press menu button once (the button below the zoom buttons). - Choose Map settings - Choose the setting which shows the installed maps. I think it has a an "i" symbol. - Press menu button once - Select "Show basemap" GOT IT. not that i really need them, with the topo maps and such, but it's nice to have. so it looks like you can have the basemaps and the topo maps and the ibycus all overlapping? is that the point to where it says "SHOW" and "HIDE"? also, i see a few locations (addresses) that show up in my "RECENT FINDS", but i can't delete them individually. is there a way to remove them off the list? thanks.
  4. Hi, i have a micro sd card with the ibycus maps on it, but now if i deselect those maps, or take out the card, i don't have any maps. i thought i had BASEMAPS on it, just some standard mapping, but i see nothing. just my caches and any waypoints i have marked. did i do something? or is this normal. thanks
  5. legend HCx user here. i also the beep on powerdown. update. i just set my KEYTONE to NONE or OFF and the beep on powerdown is gone.
  6. shipping to canada is: UPS Worldwide Express $35.55 this is USA only deal.
  7. 3) install from the disc, worked with me on windows vista 2) all of canada. i just selected the grid i wanted to upload to my gps 1) i believe it asks you where you want to upload to. i put mine on my micro sd card
  8. the return policy is for defective and not happy with merchandise. it's not so you can buy a product, use it for a year and then upgrade. please don't advise like this, it's truly dishonest to return it after a year. you should know within a month or 2 if you like it or not. I wasn't advising. I was illustrating how good their return policy is. Some retailers won't take it back after 30 days and some charge restocking fees. ok. i thought you were advising they use it for a year and then return it. i bought mine at walmart and was told they also take them back under the regular return policy (90 days). the sports manager said, take it, try it out, if you don't like it because of the screen size, button size, just bring it back.
  9. anyway, the bottom line is, the IBYCUS MAPS are awesome, free & legal to use and easy to install and update. thanks ibycus. you saved me $100 on maps
  10. are there any other FREE LEGAL maps for GARMIN units in canada. specifically WINNIPEG showing trails, walkways, in assiniboine forrest and other parks.
  11. i thought so too, but it was soooo easy. just d/l the torrent. burn to dvd. put the dvd in your drive, it uploads. open mapsource and use the dropdown box to select IBYCUS. connect your gps to your pc via USB cable or whatever cable you use and bam, it's there. i put mine on a micro sd card, but it worked great. very very easy. i recommend NOT watching the video tutorial. here are steps in easy to understand format: 1) download the file via torrent TORRENT 2) extract the file into an iso 3) burn to dvd 4) put dvd in drive, install 5) open mapsource 6) select the IBYCUS MAPS 7) upload to your GPS like you do your other maps. thanks IBYCUS, i've been using your maps since we got our GPS a few week ago. much better than the basemaps that came with our unit.

  14. we got our Legend HCx bundled at WM in canada a few weeks ago for $225.97CA after an online pricematch. of the 14 or 17 caches we looked for, it was been dead on accurate within 2m or so, sometimes it's write on the spot. i bought this compass locally at leevalley for $10 and i'll carry that next time we go deep in the woods, but as long as i mark our car as a waypoint, hopefully we'll be ok. we got lost once, but it was my fault. started heading in the wrong direction, didn't really understand what i was looking at on my gps, but we got back ok. that said, my bundle came with the following: HCX BUNDLE Wal-Mart Item #: 967268 UPC #0753759083724 eTex Legend HCx preprogrammed 2GB SanDisk microSD card with City Navigator NA NT vehicle power cable MapSource Trip and Waypoing manger USB cable lanyard manual i picked up the garmin case for it to protect it and so i can have it hanging around my neck when we are out, makes it easier to cache with a 2y & 4y old. for $225CA it was a good price on a good bundle on a proven unit. i also get the walmart return policy if it turns out i don't end up liking it. i originally wanted the Venture HC, but couldn't get a good price on one in canada, like the $90 ebay ones with free shipping. i do like the option of the memory card,
  15. so can the lowrance units accept topo maps like the GARMIN TOPO CANADA map and the IBYCUS free topo maps? of do they use their own versions? also, are they compatible with geocaching.com? when i connect my garmin, it only lists GARMIN and DELORME? i'm guessing you can but have to set them up somehow?
  16. now the Lowrance sites says: "Available in stores, June 2009"
  17. couldn't wait, bought a legend HCx bundle for $225CDN. i was a little worried getting a preorder and if it turned out to be a dud, i'd be kicking myself. Yea I hate waiting too, and this line is taking forever to get here Good choice on the Legend HCx as an alternative, that's a great unit. But I hope you don't wind up still kicking yourself, <if/when> the Enduras are found to be awesome too it's from walmart, so i got like 90days to try it. i confirmed with the sporting goods manager.
  18. i worry about the touchscreen. i like my GPS to be covered in a case etc, so it doesn't scratch, especially with a 4y old helping find the caches.
  19. please LOCK this thread. it has been resolved.
  20. all good. i ran back and got the number and logged it properly. sorry for the confusion.
  21. thanks, i emailed the original owner and someone else as well to see if they can give me the number. oops, i kinda screwed this one up didn't i. owe well, it's now in another cache, so hopefully someone finds it, removes it and marks it accordingly, if i don't get the number by then. i guess i could always run back and get the number, it's close to me.
  22. replied. it's also the same number as posted above. i just want it marked so they know it's been moved on.
  23. i put that number in, i copied and pasted it, but it won't recognize it when i try to mark it as RETRIEVED, but i can search by that number and see the item. is it a different number than on the webpage: Owner: Niji Mahkwa1 Released: Thursday, March 26, 2009 Origin: Manitoba, Canada Use TB2HPYG to reference this item. i have emailed him to ask as well.
  24. i removed this item but marked it as DISCOVERED. i have since moved it to antoher cache, but it won't let me mark it as RETRIEVED from the original cache now. it says "NO MATCH" when i put in the item number. but if i search for that number, the item comes up. any ideas?
  25. perfect, thanks for the explanation. just gives me motivation to go back and find those ones that were moved into recent finds, that i didn't actually find (FOUND). thanks
