  1. Good afternoon, we will be heading to las vegas in March and my niece is interested in old cemeteries, I thought that it would be fun to find caches while at these cemeteries but I am not having any luck running a list, does anyone already have one that they would like to share or perhaps know how to run a list that will show cemetery caches? Thanks TandPseeker
  2. Love finding ones that have not been found in a while. Recently we had the pleasure of being the 22nd finder of a virtual cache that was done on 7/1/03 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...85-4cd6fa24f322 great way to spend some time
  3. thanks for that advice that was my next series of questions. I think that i am gg to go ahead and work on this one My goal for the year is to place 10 new caches this would almost fill my goal THanks for all the awesome input
  4. pardon my ignorance. if i make it a series that means i post each dwarf as a cache and then if you want to write the code at each then they get snow white? and as for who got slighted i was thinking about splitting the last 2 numbers so they are 2 and 1 so i got all the dwarfs thank you for all your input. keep it coming
  5. I thought of putting them within the same few blocks of the snow white cache. I was thinking of placing the dwarfs around the name like sneezy there is an allergy clinic near by doc there is a doc office sleepy there is a la-z-boy and so on and so forth. I was gg to try and make this a walking style cache Would you label it a puzzle or a multi???? thanks pauline ps i did a search on geo caching and there are a bunch of snow white caches
  6. I have been toying with the idea of creating a snow white and the seven dwarfs cache (i need to check and make sure that i can name it that ... don't want to infringe on disney) My thought was this I would post the coordinates to each dwarf, you would have to physically visit each of the caches and a portion of the coordinates for the snow white cache it would look something like this doc W_ _ _ __. _ _ _ (go to these coordinates in this cache you will find a card all about doc on the back side will be a number that you will have to retrieve) on the website i would upload a form that looks something like this DOC Happy GRUMPY N _____ ________.________ after visiting the cache you will write your number under the coorect dwarf once all of the dwarf caches have been found you will have the coordinates to a snow white cache WOuld you be interested in something like this .. am i missing any key elements ... FEEDBACK greatly requested Pauline
  7. You know silly me, the funny thing is that i never thought of looking at additional logs that would be posted before the cache was approve SHEEPISH GRIN .. pauline

  9. We have been caching for a little over a yr. Until a week ago i have never attempted a puzzle cache. Why because some of them in my area are down right HARD! or at least Hard to me Sometimes (most times) my mind doesn't think like others. I solved 2 puzzles recently and will go out tonight to find the cache, My question is when do you ask poster of the puzzle for HELP! For example: This puzzle http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...4c-484581737ca7 I am not able to find a dr dufus as a geo caching name, am i missing something or do i ask for help this puzzle is close to me and i would like a happy face Any ideas thanks
  10. WOW what a great idea ... we are just starting out on the earth caches
  11. We just ordered our travel bug for the car, we will see how many times we are discovered. I do not think that the travel bug advertises the GPS, if you are parked most of us have our GPS units on us to go caching, not stored in the car
  12. This one was our little DNF for 7 trips GCZZ25 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...0c-1b3db3a68191 We finally found when we took a new geocacher with us to once again try and find. By far this has been the best cammo job i have ever seen
  13. i use <reference to unauthorized application removed by moderator> To me it was easier than the geo beagle Good luck i love paperless caching
  14. I thought that they were pretty creative and would give me a run for my money. I could see where some aren't the best places and killing a tree not so good but what if the tree was already dead??? I finished reading the thread and have a few more comments: I have recently seen a whole bunch of new caches using the sprinklers that have been hollowed out and placed in bushes ... great hides in my limited knowledge of the game however by definition these are not allowed as they had to be placed (digging some ground out) ... and i have found some great caches in the ammo boxes i love those and it makes for a great hotel. I guess each person has his/her own idea on what a great cache is if you don't like it .. move on Pauline To be clear, it was pointed out a long time ago that pressing something into the ground is not digging. To qualify as digging, soil must be removed. To push a fake sprinkler head into the ground is not digging (according to a reviewer who posts in the forums often). Lets call it good, but i can honestly say that there have been several that have had the dirt well removed and not just pushed in ... but i love the game and am not going to knit pick it so that people stop hiding
  15. I have seen some fabulous BLOGS on geocaching they don't really give coordinates they basically give pixs of the events and how long it took to find ...

  17. I have only found 54 caches and dream of placing my own some day but do not feel like i know the rules of the game so far to go ahead and place my own. There should be a waiting period i agree@
  18. i think that one of my favorites to find was a cache attached to a piece of fishing line and put down a parking lot pole, and hooked on the side, you literally had to fish it out. This was at an entrance to a bike path. Super cool catch. I have never traded for anything excpet bugs, but am considering adding items to my back pack as well and after reading another post thinking that it is okay to remove the trash from a cache.
  19. They are actually nice for those who live in city areas and getting out to other areas is hard. I know our first caches were praking lots, and it was nice to get the hang of what we were looking for, we have advanced and enjoy all kinds, it really depends on who is with us!
  20. I live in southern california near several bases and would love to honor those who serve, as my husband served 20 yrs@ I am an email away lilflint3@aol.com Pauline
