  1. Thanks for the help. I'll have to dig a little deeper into GSAK and find how to manually create cache waypoints. I've only ever downloaded into GSAK from GC.com
  2. We are having a department picnic and will be putting out 15 or so caches of various difficulties to introduce employees to geocaching, and win prizes. I will be borrowing a variey of models and brands of GPSrs (Garmins and Magellans). Is there a way to create a file of the waypoints that I can use to download WPs so that I don't have to manually input WPs into each unit. We will likely have aroud 8 units, so manual input would be a real drag! I use GSAK with my Garmin, if there is way to do it through that. Thanks for the help!
  3. This looks great! Will save me lots of scrolling through GC maps. Question - Can the PQ search limit be made smaller than 1 mile either side of route so that "off route" caches don't get selected? I was thinking 0.25 mile for the true rest stop caches along a route. Family has very little patience while traveling.
  4. I wasn't sure if I always had the unit turned off, so I just tested it and am now restoring my Cachemate database from GSAK as it lost everything during the 10 seconds without power. Looks like I have a bad capacitor. Not a problem while sitting here next to my PC, but it sure is if I have to change batteries in the field. Looks like I may be in the market for a new PDA in the future.
  5. How long are you taking to change the batteries? The manual for my IIIxe says the data will stay on the PDA without a battery for only one minute. Only a matter of seconds. The unit is several years old and I wonder if there is an internal battery or capacitor that has gone bad?
  6. I have a Palm m105 and when I change the batteries I lose cachemate and have to hotsync to get it back. Is there an internal battery that needs changing or some "special procedure" for changing batteries to preserve the database?
