Bought Garmin eTrex Venture Mar.17 (Ebay, $145.00 brand new...). Also I know where my first cache is, but I was waiting for the GPS...(so close to my house it's scary, I even know which tree it's in, I think!! >^,^< ) Anyway, the GPS arrived yesterday, Mar.20 (WOW a Great eBay seller) and I have two questions about North, as referred to in the manual. Page 14, Satellite Page - "Selecting Track-Up or North-Up" skyview orientation...what does this mean??? Page 47, Reference/Setup - "Heading Displays, North Reference" I understand User entry, but what do True, Magnetic & Grid North mean? Which one should I use???? OK, that's 3 questions, and yes, I am totally hooked already. Thanks all for your time, and happy hunting!! >^,^< i dont have a venture and dont have the the first two options you have questions about, and the 3rd one doesnt matter, are you sure your not making simple things complicated?

  9. whenever someone posts or replies, it tells there selected name(nick name). but ive noticed, maybe this is new to new* forums, that under the nick names theres always a 2nd name. sometimes it says they are geocacher or charter member, depending if the person has paid the extra fee to become charter member. but other people have neither, they have a totally different name? is this their geocaching site name? or what is it??

I-90 doesnt actually cross iowa, but its rather close to the IA-MN state line. caches that appear to be close to your planned route are as follows: western wisconsin http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=5966 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=17162 In Iowa or Minnesota http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=8013 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=7231 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=6262 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=6263 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=8474 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=2785 and in South Dakota http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=13235 hope this helps [This message was edited by welch on March 20, 2002 at 04:00 PM.]
