  1. why does my post say ringbone? good job on the stars btw
  2. my question is this... the announcement was posted Dec 11 2005, 06:45 PM but the problems were occurring first thing sunday morning, first posted here 8-9ish hours before the notice. what was the earlier problem?
  3. since you a PM why not use pocket queries and gsak or something
  4. I can tell you how it goes as I have refused search twice... Here is the general sequence of events "NO" "If you have nothing to hide then why object?" "If you believe that I have nothing to hide then why search my car?" Something about nothing to hide again and why not? "Because it is mine" --this is my favorite response and it is hard to argue with Well it goes back and forth for 15-20 minutes till they get tired of questioning you and the other officer haas not seen anything through the window after a 'window shopping spree.' Yes, you will feel intimidated if you are a normal person, but don't back down and give up your rights.
  5. I think the link should be removed. I don't think leaked info is a taboo subject. Linking to pirated software is. true... leaking is fine. I apoligize for insinuating that you did anything wrong. The link on the otherhand was in my opinion inapropriate. Good to know that it is being worked on tho.
  6. somebody is gonna be pissed if they get word of this... and should the discussion of software that is not supposed to be public a taboo subject? this could border on sw piracy
  7. I don't have a middle button but I do have a middle finger and clicking with that didn't help any. you can open tabs in safari on macs also
  8. Maybe she's a virtual wife. Many hard-core techies have them, you know. carefull... be VERY careful
  9. here is a fun idea... save the page at a test as htlm and see how big it is. my personal TB page is like 750+K that is nearly 3/4MB i wist a tb page would show the latest 5 logs by default.
  10. I used to enjoy, back when gas was cheaper, rambling around and guessing roads to turn on and being so pleased with myself for doing so good. Maps on my palm based GPS cheapened my hunting pleasure as it made it too easy to get there. I don't use them too often except for when driving strange towns. Now I am getting some mapping software for my computer and will most likely only use it once for caching. I really don't care where a cache is as long as it isn't a trash heap or a parking lot, I just want an interesting trip getting there. They say getting there is half the fun... I'd argue and say that getting there is at least 90%
  11. they have what you want here... http://www.pc-mobile.net/gedc.htm good service IMHO too
  12. Thanks everybody, I will be purchasing this piece of SW since it looks like it does everything I was hoping it would. I may or may not buy mactopos as I already have my state as well as two neighboring states topos in calibrated drg files. Saving space though may prompt me to do so as my files are around twice the size of mactopos.
  13. Hi, sorry if this has been asked but I cant find the answer. I am getting close to ordering some mac mapping SW. Actually I ordered r66 from amazon with free shipping but canceled the order before it shipped due to some things I have read lately. I WAS going to order Topo! for my state and the neighboring one but cause of user issues with support I have been leery. I am leaning toward MacGPSPro with the Topo DVDs you can order. I have some questions about this software. #1 does MacGPSPro do live position updating from magellan meridian series gps? AND does this keep you centered on the screen? #2 do you install the MacGPSPro map dvd and it stitches the maps together? OR do you have to select maps individualy? anyway, other than routing this looks like the perfect SW for me, I just need to know a couple things to know if it will work as I hope before i decide to buy. Mostly i want to use it for backroads travel and planning wilderness outings. Also to have it run on long drives just for the fun of getting a track route. Lastly I want to use it for geocaching and benchmark hunting via gpx files which I know will work. would you buy it?
  14. Don't buy a cheap adapter, YOU WILL BE SORRY Knuckle down and by a Keyspan as tykesplace suggested, that is what I have.
  15. there is your problem... you need to be a PM and get a pocket query gpx file that has all the info in it. a .loc file only has name and coords
  16. Unless I am living in a delusional world MOST all PM's use the GPX file option to get PQ's as it is so versitile.
  17. Here is the list of software that I use for the Mac operating system. GPSBabel A gps file format tool... A MUST HAVE converts gpx to palm capable files for different types of recievers and gps apps. I use the command line version, but there is a version called MacGPSBabel with a GUI CMConvert This app takes your pocket query GPX files and makes them work for cachemate on the palm and makes them a palm type file. a MUST HAVE if you use cachemate. I use the command line version, but there is a version called MacCMConvert with a GUI BMGPX bmgpx to reformat files on benchmarks from the NGS website to the GPX format. not as cool as maybe a pocket querry but still cool. This allows you to have the full descriptions and info for Benchmark files, which of course makes it much easier to find benchmarks. TerraBrowser A piece of mapping software that gathers both arial photos and topo maps from terra server without use of a web browser. It has GPS interface info and live tracking abilities(which I have yet to make work). You also can load caching loc and gpx file into the app and it will plot them all on the maps. It allows you it download a region based on distance for offline viewing, great for out of town caching trips. Coordinate Converter I have written a basic coord converter in applescript. It is useful for converting coordinates between a couple degree type formats. More conversion options will be added later. As it is right now you can convert between DegreeDecimal, DegreeMinuteDecimal, and DegreeMinuteSecond formats at will. loc Builder I also have written a basic coord converter and loc file creater/builder in applescript. It is useful for making a file for your GPS or Palm in the loc format. I plan to get TOPO! one of these days. I have tried many other mapping SW and most all require manual calibration of maps and just isn't worth the effort to me. I also am working on a caching specific piece of sw for mac users but life has interrupted my progress
  18. Some of us have known about this bug for quite some time and have alerted jeremy in the past. Recently I have seen severaly topics about this and think that a quiet email about this bug would be best so as to not attarct any undo attention. Some users would 'take advantage' of the situation and bog down the system. Thank goodness you didn't notice the other bug(or atleast menton it).
  19. my bet is that this WILL happen when PQ's are enabled for Waymarking AND bms are moved over there.
  20. What is it lately with all the stalker types these days, no offonce intended, wanting to know about other cachers in their area. Just creepy if you ask me.
  21. probably won't happen as there are more pressing features than "numbers." have you tried keenpeople.com ?
