Is there a rule against making new accounts every 30 days and using it with a free premium trail to find premium caches but logging them on a basic member account?

The owner already knows. I told them I was going to do it and the reason why. They said they understand and had no problem with it. The point is just having a name on the log isn't always 100% proof. Hard to fake an original photo especially if the cache is in the picture.

I've signed a log for someone who wasn't even with me cause they asked me to. So a signature isn't really any more solid that a photo. I usually take a picture of the cache in it's hidden spot. Can't really dispute that as proof.

Depends on what Android device you are using as well. Really not much need carrying around an extra device. A GPS in my opinion is outdated and quite useless compared to a phone here in Japan.

Application programming interface it's on the technical side. Basically if you access the geocaching app API you can make an app with any features you want if you know what you are doing. There are a few modded apps geo apps out there I tried to report but they didn't reply back. I'll message you later about it.

If you want to enjoy the unlocked version you probably shouldn't ask about it and just enjoy it. There are always bugs and loopholes in apps like this and are hard for them to fix one small thing without causing another issue. I've reported a few security holes in the app and access to the API but still haven't heard anything back and that was almost a month ago. I don't think they have the technical support to handle some of these things. There are apps not listed in their API partners using their system to make apps for geocaching. It's one of the things I was trying to report.

I didn't even check the website until there was an update and the app started bugging out. There's some random information here. It's just scattered all over. I'll mail you a link to a YouTube video that will tell you most anything you need to know.

This is not a sock puppet account. I actually use this account for geocaching with my family which I clearly stated. Wanting to keep my accounts separate has nothing to do with me posting here using this account. All my trackables and caches are on my main account. This is my secondary account. I mostly use this account for geocaching with my family and recently just to post or ask something here. I'm not to keen to post it as I'd like to keep my accounts separate and anonymous. But I'll post an update every once in a while.

Well, it's already set in motion and 3 have already been picked up and one relocated a few 100 kms away. Two caches get a bit less traffic so they will probably be there a month or two. So I guess I will find out how it goes.

My plan is to just make a few just to see where they end up before disappearing into someone's collection. I don't want to buy a few for the the codes for them to just keep disappearing. Geocaching isn't like it use to be where trackables actually got to travel. Nowadays they are stolen or picked up by someone who just thinks it's swag.

Is it ok to buy a trackable and use it's code for multiple handmade trackables if you etch the code from the real one you purchased on multiple handmade items? I'm curious if I place them all in my area where they will make it to.

I'm running Android 9 and the only problem I'm having is the app crashing when trying to read the description. Uninstalled and reinstalled several times still the same. Was working fine until the updated the geocaching app. Other Geo apps working so I'm using two.

I'm currently running Android P or 9. Before the update everything was fine. I uninstalled and reinstalled twice and still the same.

An updated came a couple of days ago and since then when I try and check the description the app crashes. I haven't had a chance to go out and see if I'm getting any other bugs or crashes. Is it only me?

It really depends on your area. If there are a lot of caches locked away to premium users only and you want to find them then yes. If there are plenty of caches not locked away it's probably best to stay standard. If you are trying to figure out what caches are easy enough to bring the kids along, check the terrain rating. Although sometimes people don't always put an accurate rating.
