Can use a jack daniels single barrel cap as a tb. It is wood and had a cork but i drilled it out. Just want to know if its against the rules to use alcoholic beverage items.

I just want to clear up what I mean when I say trash. I mean golf balls with slices in them, rocks not cool rocks but like regular rocks, general trash( I've found a couple caches like this lately you would have thought it was a trash can), and caches with very little or the only things in them are used in poor condition toys.

Here is my new travel bug TBGBF9 (don't know how to link) in celebration of this bug, my first, I went out and bought a whole backpack and them some of swag. This bug will go around and collect all the trash and crap and replace it with really cool swag. I don't know if I will release the bug or just keep it with me cleaning up caches when we go out.

WENT OUT TODAY CACHING AND FOUND THE USUAL THINGS IN CACHES. 90% OF THE ITEMS........YEAH U GUESSED IT MCCRAP AND USED TOYS. I HAVE NEVER BEEN REAL FIRED UP TO FIND TOYS IN GENERAL BUT IM 25 AND VERY FEW TOYS EXCITE ME. BUT I GOT TO THINKING. YOU CAN GO TO WALMART AND BUY HOTWHEELS AND OTHER TOYS FOR LESS THAN A BUCK. MATTER OF FACT I SAW PROBABLY 1000 HOTWHEELS YESTERDAY AT WALMART FOR 93 CENTS IF I REMEMBER RIGHT. SO BY GOLLY I'M GONNA GET SOME AND STICK THEM IN THE CACHES I VISIT. MY POINT TO ALL THIS IS WHEN YOU GO OUT AND PUT THINGS IN A CACHE THINK ABOUT THIS "GEE FOR A BUCK I COULD PUT A BRAND NEW TOY IN A CACHE FOR A BUCK AND IT'S STILL IN THE PACKAGE. DO I WANT MY KIDS PLAYING WITH A USED TOY OR ONE BRAND NEW. I THINK A KID SEES A HOTWHEELS OR SOME OTHER TOY IN A PACKAGE IT DOUBLES THE EXCITEMENT. I was wanting to make a book. Like a story book. I would start it and then everyone would add a little to the story and pass it on. I thought if it went to members only 1 it would be safer and 2 it would kind of be special that only members would be a part of it.

was thinking of making a members only tb any thoughts?

I know what a travel bug is but what is a hitchhiker? Are they the same thing?

My question is why do people stick these caches here there are so many other places they could be? this isnt the first and probably not the last.

One thing I have yet to see in a cache log is Took piece of crap left something really good. All I ever read is took something really good left piece of crap. This is my point. Everyone complains about crap in caches, as menial as this sounds I guess I am trying to start something by this thread. Leave great take good. Leave good take crap. I and many others who I have read your threads don't want to take crap and leave good. It is a never ending cycle. I started myself in my first two finds. Only I took nothing and left crap. Crap stinks literally and figurality speaking.

I went to a cache today and found it was right next a baseball field where kids have games and today they were having practice. It was right next to the field litterally 20 feet from the chain link fence. I ask why place it here and not in any other area in the how ever many acres this park is. Why make the cacher feel like he could be percieved as a nutcase when there are so many areas this could be placed in the city park that are a little more inconspicuous?

I am reopening this in hindsight for opinions on the first aid kit and radios and nothing more. Leave all other comments to the thread I made for what do u leave and what do u take.

Nothing applies more to geocaching like the old saying different strokes for different folks. I know some people are out for the hunt some just want the stats and some people want to find a hidden treasure. I started this post to get an idea of what the people who like to trade things like to find. I will admit a side bar for this post was to get people to stop leaving crap when taking better things. My main reason for this post was for new ideas on what to leave besides my calling card. Personally I'm in this for it all I want the stats (no bogus ones it makes me feel good to get high numbers.) I would like one day to beat the guys to a cache who seem to always get first to find in my area. And most of all I want to enrich caches that have crap in them. The only way I know to do that is to ask the people who show up to them what they want. Not everyone can say " I expect nothing out of a cache. There are too many threads complaining about crap in caches to believe that. So I ask what do you want in a cache and as a side note think " Is what I am asking for equal to what I leave." I am done on this post. (I may stay up and post more who knows I still have 8 hours till work. krn187

I had another thread that started to lead to this and I decided to close it and make this a thread in its own. What do you want to find in a cache? Personally I like camping type stuff. Everyone is different though. What are your thoughts? Now I will ask the follow up question. You can answer one or both I don't care. What do you bring with you swag wise to a cache and what do you usually leave? I am looking for new ideas of what to leave in caches so I would love to hear everyones input. One last thing as a reality check though. Did what you answered for question one equal what you answered in question two? If so way to go if not reconsider question two. All input on what to leave to make the masses happy is appreciated. KRN187

Just looking for other ideas. Calling cards and mccrap gets boring. I would like to find camping type stuff but others may not. would just like to have a variety but don't know what the general population thinks. Part of the time i am a city boy and part of the time i am a country boy. Work in a rural area grew up between chicago il and gary in. I now live in rural illinois. so confusing to go from an hour to a corn field to an hour from a city. Just want to know what everyone would like to find in a cache.

Ill add to this informal survey I started and ask this besides a million dollars and a bunch of other stupid stuff I can come up with what do you the person reading this want to find. Go ahead somebody say I really want a barbie doll arm. But seriously I am curious. I am going to leave the First aid kits with the notes to leave them. They have like 5 bandaids and some alcohol pads. I have I think 9 radios with 2 AAA batteries all bundled up in a baggie. I will place those where I can but I just want to know what you all think.

Hello all, found some new stuff at the store and wanted your thoughts. ( I also get a reason to post my first after reading a million.) Today I found these little FM radios with headset and some small first aid kits. I see a lot of people say a first aid kit is a good idea but do people actually want them. Should I leave the radio and First aid kit with a note on the kit to leave it with the cache. Personally I feel all caches should have one in there. Just today I found myself with 5 First aid kits in my pocket for a multi deep in a preserve saying man this would suck if something cut me out here or if i had a little kid who needed a band aid. Lately I have been leaving just my card and taking nothing. Last night I read a lot on Groundspeak and decided I needed to help enrich caches that are full of crap.
