  1. I was just messing around. The cold has gotten to me I think.
  2. What's the minimum temperature a travel bug can take? Don't forget our little friends during the cold months!

    Is This a Lot ?

I just had one of the travel bugs listed in the cache not too long ago.................... http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.as...5a-dfe752d42297
  4. I know and I ain't gonna narc them out. I just get mad.
  5. I know I shouldn't but............................I get so mad when I see this happen. Funny how one person can be in Utah and the other in Alabama and log each others stuff. Some might say they actually were together and swapped but that would be hard when they both cached in they're home states those days.
  6. What is a geowoodstock?
  7. No hard feelings man. I didn't read your post as rude anyway.
  8. Roddy, I was just messing with you on this stuff. I don't log everything that comes in front of me either. If I don't see the coins I don't log them. I have thrown away a few lists of coins being handed out at events when the owners forgot to bring the coins but had the lists. The last part of why has it taken me so long................................ Well, that one is kind of a good question. I will answer it like this.......... There is a lot of travel bug swapping (large quantities) between cachers. So one guy has 30 he takes them to the other who has 30 and they trade. I have done it myself. But, there are two states that this happens a lot in and one of them is yours. I know how you climbed the ladder so quickly. If MaxB, Geopigs, Wolverine Cachers and Lost Scouts lived in Illinois, I would probably have 3000 tbs by now. But I only have my lowly number because except for two occasions totallying about 50 bugs, I have grabbed all the bugs and coins on my own. Put 150000 miles on my truck in the last 5 months picking up bugs one at a time from southern Indiana to Central Illinois. I remember a guy who had quite a few bugs saying once that the two states his bugs never seemed to visit were Illinois and Indiana. The odds are against me. Once again, no slams or hatred meant. Just having fun on the forums.
  9. First off, I say to each his own. Now onto something I don't quite understand. I read this as I found it I want the stat to move up LaRobley's list. Where is the magic line between raising your stats and cheapening your accomplishment? You can look at them and then not log them at all.........that is a legal option. I don't know that there is a proper way since there are no rules on logging etiquette except for no number sharing. I know how quite a few of the main players / heavy movers play, but with all due respect, they don't set the rules. I log coins, you log coins. MaxB doesn't log coins via discovery. I don't respect them anymore than I respect any other TB/Coin mover. There are a few people on Larobley's list that are very suspect on how they got there numbers. I know who they are and how they racked up their stats. They have broken the only rule of TB's I know. I don't respect them. Ok, stop bringing it up, we get it. BTW.........I am right behind you on the list.
  10. On a serious note, I think that the UFD tag will get moved more being in a micro. More people do these nasty caches now than go hike down the trails.

  12. I will start off with I know I probably could never do it.........but, I was thinking it would be cool if someone could write a greasemonkey script that showed your logs on a travel bug like the already existing greasemonkey script that shows logs on caches. So, anyone smart enough to do this?
  13. I guess as the newest member to LaRobley's Top 50 Travel Bug Finder's WoldWide list (cheap and shameless plug ) I am qualified to chime in on this subject as I am embarking on almost 1200 trackables myself. I have a pocket querry that shows all the closest 500 caches to me with travel bugs. Most of the bugs don't move unless I move them. No one within the 100 mile radius I call my home area is too keen on travel bugs. Sometimes they move but most of the time it is because of me. I have put 15,000 miles on my truck in the last 6 months mainly moving travel bugs. RR for where you live in Michigan there are quite the few travel bug lovers. Utah is the same way. But most states don't have the bug love that your state and Utah have. I see the good in someone grabbing all the bugs in a cache and moving them. It is the cache owners job to stock his or her travel bug hotel, not the cachers visiting. I see TB stock as part of the maintanence of one of these caches. You are making it easier for a visitor to move lots of the local areas bugs. If they leave some then they do, if they don't then it is the owners job to put more in. I watch travel bugs sit in caches for weeks before they move. No one cares to move them. A lot of them are being placed in old caches by new cachers. The caches get visited maybe 10 times a year these days. I go one direction every weekend and grab bugs. So it takes me a month to cover the territory. I wish we could have a poll that asks the following. Which of you cachers actually will return to a cache that you have already found to move a travel bug. I bet you would be surprised at how small the number of "I do's" would be. Will be in Michigan Saturday visiting MaxB. Look for the big red Silverado with the oversized WWW.GEOCACHING.COM sticker on the back glass if you are in the area. Kris

    CYBret hits 1800!

The deed is done! The cache is found! Now I just have to write the log. Unfortunately that will have to wait...I have to go perform a wedding....poor idiots. It was great to meet you and your dog, Cap'n! Yet another great cache! Thanks! Bret Hey Bret! A funny thing happened about an hour after I left you, Doc and Capt. Blackbeard. I was at a covered bridge NE of Greencastle and a red truck pulled up. Figured I was going to get a “what are you doing here” buy instead I heard “Oh, I new that had to be you”. I turned around and it was 5¢. I asked him what he was doing all the way up there and he said he trying to get #1000 and only needed 2 more. SO…I got to see you and Doc get your 2000th and 5¢ get his 1000th today!!!!!!! BJS I hope he got it..............

    5¢ hits 1000!

Wow, I don't know what to say, I have never had a thread dedicated to me by someone else. I actually had come to this forum to see if someone had given Cybret and Doc their props for 2000. All I can say is thanks for the kind words and I am glad to put Illinois on the map for being one of the top 50 TB loggers. Thanks BJS for joining me on my 1000 find and thanks to everyone for putting out TB's for me to move. Kris
  16. Greetings to Quack-Seer, Detector Of All That Is Hidden! Why has the Invisible Devil Ducky lost its smile? Have the League of Loathsome WaterFOUL unleashed some new dastardly geo-terror upon the world??? I would love to answer this question but there is only one small problem. I can see the invisible duck but unfortunately I can not hear the invisible duck. He is quacking away and I can't hear a stinking thing he is sayin.
  17. Just to let everyone know, the invisible duck is not smiling anymore.
  18. I thought I would try to find this guy when he came to Illinois.................until I read the reason why he was doing it. Some of you folks will never understand.

    Club pages

The list in the forums is good, but most cachers don't visit the forums, and those that do might have a hard time trying to figure out which clubs are close to them.

    Club pages

This idea has been running through my head lately and it is still in the beginning phases. I am hoping maybe some of you can add to it and then maybe Jeremy will take the ball and run with it. My idea is that Groundspeak provide a web page for geocaching clubs. A single page that can give an overview of your local club. (kind of like the cache pages we already have) It could have a link to your already existing page. Maybe show the members of your club. Have a section for upcoming events etc. The page could have any membership criteria etc that the club has. These pages could be searchable by zip code. That way a new geocacher could search and see if there is a local club available to them. I am thinking that some of the larger clubs could put in multiple zip codes for the areas that they cover. I will use the GONIL group in Northern Illinois as an example. They cover a very large area and have members from multiple counties so multiple zip codes would be applicable. Where as my local club really only covers maybe a 20 mile area at this time so one zip code could pretty much cover the search. The search function for these club pages could be by state and / or.......just throwing out an arbitrary number of maybe 50 miles from the zip code you punch in to search off of. Another possibility for this idea could be that these clubs are given a unique cache icon and the club shows up like a cache. A pocket query would be able to search for this cache type. The club could put the coordinates in the center of their club’s jurisdiction.
  21. Hey Raine, any chance of trackable I have already logged being grey or another color on the cache page?
  22. I always thought the Groundspeak logo looked like the Microsoft logo.
  23. I was too busy hosting to attend my events. No, I thought since I don't log the caches I hid, I wouldn' log attended on events I hosted.........Oooops sorry, my mistake.
  24. Yawwwwn. Don't worry about addressing the issues and questions......I have to be nice to you now. I got in trouble for being to mean to you you troll!
