  1. thanks..but to get a 'proper' route i would have to place a waypoint at everycorner and turn on the route..what i meant was that mapsource draws the route then its downloaded (as on mapsource) to the 60c and the 60c just follows this route and doesnt 'recalculate' ...
  2. i want to be able to produce a route in mapsource then download it onto my 60c ..and have that route on the gps without the 60c recalculating it ...can it be done?
  3. e-mailed this query to garmin tech support...will let you know the result.
  4. have you tried a different location? and is the gps set to receive sats (look at menu on sat page)
  5. is there any way of changing the background map color on the 60c...i think the roads etc would be better defined on a white background.i now there different color schemes but the map background is not changed....what do you think?
  6. thanks stormcrow42....it stinks that a route calculated on the pc does not reproduce itself on the 60c....looks like i am going to have to fork out megabucks to get city select europe .....it was reading this forum that i figured out that mg4.** usa could autoroute on the 60c...so i obtained a copy and used it on a recent vacation to your great country..and it worked perfect.strange later versions of mg usa do not, maybe garmin knew what was on the horizon with mapping gps's and took this feature off its software....
  7. i know that the mg4.* usa will do autorouting on the 60c ..but the problem is the 60c is calculating a different route than the route i download from mapsource/mg europe v5.....how do i make sure the 60c does not do its own calculation?
  8. mg4.* has autorouting which i used when on vacation in arizona recentely.my 60c and mg4.* worked perfectly....the problem i have is my 60c calculating a different route than the route i download from mapsource/mg europe v5.....
  9. is there any way of downloading a route made in mapsource/metroguide europe 5 onto a 60c and not let the 60c calculate its own route to the end destination..
  10. i'm from the uk and have just returned from a vacation to the usa...using a 60c and mg 4.01 we travelled 2250 miles visiting arizona utah navada and new mexico...the software routed me to where i wanted to go with the 60c 'pop-up screens' working very well, even finding walmarts (for the wifes retail shopping therapy) was a simple affair.there were a few problems but for 98% of the time the software worked fine...why pay for the expensive city selct/navigater when this software is ok ....
  11. the way i use easymps is to download geocache waypoints from geocaching.com (topografix dat file) ..open the file with easymps then easymps gives you the option to send to mapsource then you download to your gps.....you can also change the icon from a flag to a 'closed' geocache box....i'm pretty new to this software but i'm sure it will work for you.
  12. version 4.** metroguides are the only ones to autoroute on the 60c/cs...versions 3.** and 5.** upwards do not...
  13. try 'easymps' it can be downloaded from the web.....
  14. why dont you use metroguide 4.01....i'm from the uk and have just returned from a vacation to the usa...using a 60c and mg 4.01 we travelled 2250 miles visiting arizona utah navada and new mexico...the software routed me to where i wanted to go with the 60c 'pop-up screens' working very well, even finding walmarts (for the wifes retail shopping therapy) was a simple affair...why pay for the expensive city selct/navigater when this software is ok ....
