  1. I'd have a second one for a backup. I hate losing money if I don't have too.
  2. Yes it is a Magellan. New and unused. $30 and free shipping Send a PM if your interested.
  3. I've got a Magellan Meridian windshield suction cup holder I don't need. For trade or sale. What I could really use is a carry case for my Merigold. Looking for a Meridian neoprene bag.
  4. A good deal indeed! We enjoy our Direct Route. A must have for a Meridian!
  5. I really like my MeriGold for its ability to swap memory cards that I've programed for different regions. And the low cost of the MeriGold.
  6. His problem was between his sat. radio reciever and gps. Where do you have your reciever mounted? Hardattack is one of my favorites also, along with Buzzsaw, HairNation,Octane and RawDog.
  7. Interesting. I've not had any reception problems between my Sirius reciever and my Magellen. I'm not doubting your discovery, just never thought of the posilibity. I've always been in the drivers seat when using the gps and the sat. reciever is behind the rear seat of my crew cab f250 Ford. It must be far enough away that it doesn't present a problem for me. I'll have to check out the signal loss myself. Thanks for the tip.
  8. Is using the MeriColor in direct sunlight that big of an annoyance? I mean how bad is it? I'm considering upgrading from my MeriGold to the MeriColor. Do you think I'll regret it?
  9. I was aware when I purchased the Magellen that it requires its own software, sorry for the confusion. Looks like NG topo is the way to go. On edit: Looks like NG State Series topo is the way to go.
  10. Thanks for the links embra. The National Geographic Topos are the ones I could use, very nice. At that price I think I'll just get one to start with... Does this kind of stuff ever come up for sale in the sale forum? Anyone ever find this stuff on ebay or halfbay?
  11. jbar, Where can I find these 7.5 maps, DNR? Do they have software versions? GG, Thanks for the link. Very nice for the price. I like the photo maps.
  12. What is this? Got a link to a product? I did a search on this forum and came up with nothing.
  13. Hello all, newbie here. I purchased my first gps last week then found this sight. What a great resource for info on gps's. I'd been looking for a gps locally and found a good deal on a Merdian Gold at wally world for $200. I decided I wanted some accesories and realized that I should have bought a bundle pack online. Looking around online I found a good deal on a bundle pack and for about $30 more can upgrade to the Merdian Color. So I plan on returning my Mer.Gold and getting the Mer.Color next week. All with the help of this site. Anyway, on to my questions. I want to get some really good topo software. I've read that DeLorme has a new version out. How is it? Any others?
