  1. gee, Tom, you come off a bit defensive here? If that is your real beef, that I haven't placed any caches, you should start a new game, with new rules. anyway, nuff said about that, since I am not really into personal attacks like some folks as for having intelligent people, yeah, 160 keeps me right up there, I just have different tastes. I also had an opinion, go ahead, hate away. No worries here. I do find it a bit odd to be criticized by someone who's only 5/5 cache depends on other people's difficult caches. Not that I don't like the idea, just find it ironic. and Dan-oh, you are silly, and if you get my husband quoting python all night, I am going to have to hunt you down. edited to add - Oh wait, I did re-place a cache. gee whiz that makes me so gosh darn special I may pass out.
  2. Well, that is interesting to hear you say, I went and took a look due to the chatter here, and I guess my only comment is, Whatever, thanks anyway. Personally, I like geocaching. Puzzles are fun, and I am glad some people have such a great time with them. however, some of us aren't as "into" the whole puzzle thing. It isn't even that they are difficult, I do harder stuff at work sometimes. But, they are time consuming and honestly, I just don't like cryptography that much. I have also noticed that a heck of a lot of the logs on mystery/puzzle caches, note hints or nudges that were needed. How is that a good puzzle cache? seems more like a clique cache....and I don't mean that in a nasty way, just an observation. Anyhow, I like creatively hidden caches, where the cleverness in finding them, is the finding, not solving a puzzle to get the coordinates. Some of the camo stuff is just soooo much fun. That said, Mary Magdelene's Negro Baby's puzzle are a different story. She(??) has a couple of really evil ones, at least if you just look online they are, however, I get the feeling that with just a bit of investigation, they unfold for the seeker. also, the binary tree puzzle is great. It isn't a mystery how to do it, as the directions are there, but the doing it is a fun mental exercise. Well, I know some people will probably take this wrong, and that is too bad. All I am doing is expressing my opinion, and I don't feel any ill-will. namaste.
  3. Hmmm...I lived in Panama as a little kid, and got bit by ticks a lot then, supposedly. They don't like me now much, nor do mosquitos. They tested me once for Lyme's in the late 80s as I had a lot of joint issues. My test was inconclusive, which the Dr. told me at the time meant I had some antibodies to Lymes or one of the related ickies (like RMSF). I haven't really thought about it much, but recently, I have a lot of this symptom 23.Neck creeks and cracks, neck stiffness, neck pain so who knows? weird. I hope KA is fine.
  4. oh, that was elegant IV Warrior. I think you are correct.
  5. that is a terrific idea! I'll donate a few bucks toward production of that feature!
  6. Evidently you missed the whole point; micros are not GEOCACHES, they are scraps of trash. blah blah blah come out of the drawer and argue in the light. actually, why argue. You can't have everything you want. deal with it. Make the best of what you can do, and stop bad-mouthing different types of caches. it just makes you sound kinda silly.. Some micros suck, some regulars suck I can't tell you how tired I am of finding decimated bushes, with an ammo can under it. Start a save the bushes thread, that would be more constructive than the I hate micros stuff. geesh OH Yeah, Micros in my area are often really cool, even some of the ones that aren't urban creative camo is a Lot of fun, and most people who take the time to be creative, also take the time to make something that isn't going to get soggy the first time a sprinkler hits it. Some of our urban micros are sheer genius. but enough of that. You know all that already.
  7. Yeah, Dan-oh, you met David. Just tell him you want to replace that cache. I bet WestCoastAdmin or SoCalAdmin would work with you to get the cache reactivated and in your name. David really liked that Cache too! *wave-at-CorysMom*
  8. little kids can tend to put things in their mouth, each exposure is still bad. Lead poisoning is a very serious problem in a lot of places.
  9. I know a Dan-oh cache that you can park right next to, don't have to even get out of the car if you do it correctly. Of course, you have to find the time when no one is napping or just hanging out there. edited to add: I forgot to say that this is an Awesome hide btw! Not a regular quite, but roomy enough for trades and sooo cool.
  10. Sometimes, somebody will do that with a bug that is in a race IF they are able to take it further, so that it is tracked along the way. Or it could be a personal bug. It isn't a big deal really, as long as they do it all at once, so that there isn't a TB there virtually for awhile. That is annoying when you think a TB is there, but someone got it. Worst though is when someone logs in the physical log that they picked up a TB, but never log it in online, or release it.
  11. ROFLMAOPMP! stop, I am crying now! OH OH OH --- ok, careful, this might make your eyes bleed, but if I HEAR the non-word "funnest" in one more commercial, I may have to seek professional help!
  12. how about when people say or write "for all intense (and) purposes" the word 'and' appearing intermittently. Or once, I saw a typo in our product reported by a customer rep. who noted that there was a word "miss spelled" on the page!
  13. All right! good job, persistence pays off again. *fingerscrossed*
  14. Check out the I Cut My Foot while caching coin there are already a couple stories on it... I have just got the little bloody scratches and stickers that poke like hypos. nothing serious. But I am a bit of a clutz (no peripheral vision to speak of), so it is probably just a matter of time
  15. I think it is adorable, but probably not gonna fly. *herekittykitttyhereeekitttyyyykittyyyyy*
  16. don't forget to hold both the full and empty chalice too.
  17. No doubt. I mean, geesh, if they didn't like your log, they could just delete it, not have to attack you too. Rude still, but not soooo mean. You have the right idea, you weren't whining, some people's egos are just wound a bit too tight, Sounds like your son has a good role model! namaste
  18. Well, he owns a plane named Archer III and he seems to stay within a few states so far, and it says he is in Olathe, KS, maybe you could figure out who he is? And he has been to a bunch of cache events. Look up some of the other attendees and just send friendly inquiries. Someone should at least know who he is, and be able to reach him. there is always someone! oh, and his first name is Scott, according to http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...8e-06eccbf9e833
  19. I wonder what numbering that is in. Could it actually be decimal? now that would be fun to work out the current highest and what all the missing ones are, etc. Oh, and I really was just kidding when I started a count off, but it Was funny.
  20. Remember though, that Policies and Rules are not always posted on every access or trail into an area that may have policies. It is usually OK, as long as you aren't placing caches that will create a lot of spur or social trails, because that is usually the biggest issue in parks areas. At least is was in SDRP. because of protected habitats. If geocaching hadn't caused such a problem in that respect, SDRP would have taken a completely different approach. Even when SDRP DID post at cache sites, that no geocaching was allowed, some locals chose to ignore that and vandalized the signs. That was a big bummer. Fortunately the majority have been great in supporting the SDRP and their new policy.
  21. write climberx and ask him, he is a park ranger! He also wrote the geocaching policy for the park he works in, SDRP in San Diego County. It is up on http://geocachingpolicy.info/, which is also a great resource when speaking with higher-ups in the park systems. edited to fix URL...
  22. Okay, start the count off ONE! Okay, all kidding aside, that is an interesting question. I would be curious to know some of those overall stats, that would be kinda fun.
  23. even though attaching a tag might not be appropriate, it was really cool to see that. What a neat project! That was the kind of thing I used to love about teaching.
  24. How about when the TB number is in a cache log? I reported one...not sure if I reported it correctly though since we sent an email to a local volunteer approver. any advice?
