Well I was going to continue on with this debate. But since I haven't officially chosen a side, and I'm being chastised for using the word Norm... [sorry I don't go to the AS forum, I didn't know.] And since my two small children were just caught playing with sharp objects while I was wasting time at the computer... well I think I'll call it a day. By the way, personally I'd feel guilty selling a jeep on ebay. Perhaps it's not 'illegal' but it doesn't really sound 'fair.'

Logging a jeep has nothing to do with the big jeep give away sweepstakes. Are you talking about the photo or essay contests? erm.... NORMally I'm not so much trouble in the forums... guess I need a cup of coffee.

So if the guy sells a cool cache container on ebay and just happens to mention that he'll ship a yellow jeep travel bug with it ...

Hmmm.... all this talk of theft.... Groundspeak mailed me [a newbie, unknown cacher] 20 jeeps with no instruction as to what I should do with them. Some would say that they were given to me, that I in fact now own them. So that means I'm free to do with them whatever I choose. I just happend to choose to put them in caches and give them to fellow geocachers expecting them to do the same...

So true. A team member and I volleyed several e-mails back and forth, each misunderstanding the other and elevating the situation and emotions. No matter how carefully I scripted my replies, her immediate attitude and surroundings clouded my intentions... Finally I started putting notes at the top on how to read the following message: "The following e-mail is written with a tone of concern and confusion..."

You guys didn't think I'd let an opportunity to post my kids' caching photos go by did you? lots more photos in my gallery... I take my 3yr old and 22 month old with me caching all the time. They LOVE it. I take the double stroller for many cache hunts... and take my husband along for the ones that aren't stroller friendly. If you read some of our logs you'll find that they do get awful heavy after a long hike though!

I gave several away at an event last month... two of them still haven't been logged out of that event cache... so I have no idea who even has them. I dropped the first two in our area off after dark one night and they were picked up that morning before daylight.

Guess I don't know what you mean. These Bibles are printed like this for our men and women in the military... They haven't been defaced.

Oooh, I used to have one of those... I'm only refraining from bidding against you because of some odd geocaching honor code I seem to feel applies here.

Sure... unless all of your local cachers made some vow to eachother to keep the jeeps close until everyone gets a chance to find em.... Even then it's not against any rule to move it far away.
